There is plenty of infill development to be done when the city can get to that phase from renovating their current older buildings. Something that cities like St. Louis should start doing. Vacant parking lots, urban prairies, and abandoned buildings that can be revitalized or built upon in the downtown areas.

Eventually they might spread downtown out. Once they finished renovating everything that’s the downtown core.

The central business district, (downtown) certainly has expanded, north on Woodward, to Midtown and New Center, East on Jefferson, And west through Corktown and Vernor.

I live in Northern Europe and I love seeing the practicality of American cities and the minimal number of people on the streets. This looks so comfortable. A. Europe is a chaotic place with an infinite number of people on the streets

Detroit was one of the, if not the industrial capital and richest city in the world in it's heyday. Henry Ford basically created the middle class for America. And Detroit gave the world the Motown music legends.

Detroit needs GOP mayors, prosecutors, and city managers. Then and only then, will it turn around. It used to be a super great city in the early 1950s. America is going to the rats, I hate to say. Every big city is going downhill instead of uphill. I wonder why??

Apparently YOU NO NOTHING about what is actually going on in this city and just rehashing stale (R) comments.. I guess that’s what miserable people do to make themselves feel good ….. And by the way OUR MAYOR MIKE DUGGAN IS DOING A VERY GOOD JOB and IS IMPROVING THIS CITY And HOPEFULLY I will be able to VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN for a FORTH TERM in the next election . But I’m not sure he will choose to run .

Detroit IS IMPROVING its REPUTATION with the help of its Mayor our Council members and MANY other TAX paying CITIZENS…. Obviously you have NOT been here to know that our image IS IMPROVING with THIS MAYOR that happens to be a democrat and I as a NON-committed ( neither dem or repub VOTER if I have the opportunity will select him for a fourth term as OUR MAYOR to CONTINUE its progress under HIS LEADERSHIP

Detroit has had billions of dollars in economic development, a significant drop in violent crime, rising property values, hosted multiple major NATIONAL events, and just reported the first INCREASE in it’s population in decades. All of this in just the last five years and while being ran by DEMOCRAT Mike Duggan. Go Worry about why states ran by Republicans are the most poorly educated in the union. Detroit has been doing just fine recently

So they can ban books, strip women of their rights, deny history and cling to the losers of the Confederacy? Puhleeze. Mississippi, Alabama, WV, Arkansas all have GOP Mayors, prosecutors, and city managers in their bright red cities and small towns which tend to rank dead last in everything including education, employment, industry and GDP. What's your argument there? Considering the head of the GOP is now a convicted felon....don't think no one needs a lecture from you or the GOP of how things should run.
