    Downtown improved a lot over the past 10 years. Still more work to be done but it’s good

    You can always tell the people who’ve never actually been to Detroit judging by the comments lol. Detroit has MANY nice neighborhoods outside of Downtown: Indian Village, Sherwood Forest, Grandmont-Rosedale, Rosedale Park, Virginia Park, Boston-Edison, Palmer Woods, English Village, Crary-St. Mary just to name a few.

    Detroit's Downtown Area looks a lot better now than it was a decade ago.
    Can't say the same for the rest of the city tho. Detroit still has a ton of work to do before Detroit can full complete their comeback. Great drive tho Mike!

      Can't say the same? You can't name one neighborhood and never visited...but what you heard....am I right?

      @@Bedroomeyze Most areas outside of Downtown Detroit are pretty abysmal due to the high crime and poverty rates. I don't need to go to Detroit to know that Detroit outside of Downtown is very abysmal. And I have no desire to go to Detroit in the near future unless I have to for some reason. Some of the WORST neighborhoods in Detroit proper are: Belmont, The Eye, Poletown East, Fitzgerald and Franklin Park are some of the WORST neighborhoods in the city based on their high crime rates, high poverty rates, etc. Detroit has the potential to complete their comeback story and be back to their former glory, but in order to do that, they need to revamp and fix up all of the very abysmal neighborhoods in Detroit proper that are still struggling in terms of crime, poverty and home value. Hopefully Detroit does come back and goes back to their former glory that they were back in the 50s and beyond, but because of the high crime rates, and the high poverty rates the many of the neighborhoods like the ones I just listed, Detroit will need to work harder to truly come all the way back.

      There are many good neighborhoods throughout the city, with many on the upswing due to gentrification.

    • @ryanearles2024
      @ryanearles2024 8 місяців тому +1

      @@ryanvandy1615That is true. But, outside of those nicer neighborhoods and Downtown, they need to be gentrified and fixed up badly. The question is, how much will it cost to fix up those abysmal neighborhoods and will anybody move into those newly-gentrified neighborhoods after they're fixed up? I guess we'll find out somewhere down the line.

    looks like a typical downtown to me, I have never been to this state, I only know what they say on the news and we know some are more bias than others.

    Thanks for the great tour of Detroit. I was born there and remember quite a bit from childhood years and young adult but left after the riots. It has changed so much and I enjoyed going down the streets I remember, and seeing all the new buildings downtown. You're a very good driver and definitely know your way around the city. It's not the same without Hudson's, Woolworth's and Kresge's though. Anyway, thanks again and I'll be back when I get homesick again.

    I agree with a lot of you as far as Detroit coming a long way! I have been to a few Tiger games when it was held at the old Tiger Stadium. I have been to a couple of Red Wing games at the old Joe Louis Arena. Those are the times when immediately after the games it was time to quickly get out of town. But now, it seems it is coming along and looking pretty good!

    The motor City has been through a massive population decline over the past years due to high crime High poverty and tons of boarded-up houses and everything at least they've turning it around a little bit although they have been a victim of the rust belt but nothing bad to say about their downtown area
