Oh i get it, The head is cryo-frozen and probably retrieved by a drone and sent back up to the spacecraft that she came from, once it automatically sets course back to earth and her head is retrieved? It’s put on a new cloned body, so she’s technically not dead, at least her head isn’t.
That’s grisly but clever.
I’m not certain that there wouldn’t already be a permanent presence in the upper atmosphere. The way she landed implied a HALO type jump. And the ballon retrieval indicates a familiarity of aerial systems in Venusian atmosphere.
I had to watch it a few times and truly pay attention to the dialogue. But your breakdown made it all make sense. 😲
communication delay is too shrot for venus-earth distance
@@alximiks3788 Hence my hypothesis that there is a permanent presence in the upper atmosphere. They don’t have to ship her head to earth for the procedure she earned.
It's undetermined we're the "SOUL" Resides... head or body portion!!!!
Sure Her head may return to the ship in orbit after the snappy accent procedure only to be placed on another cloned body, but did her irretrievable SOUL Return with the head,, if not the head would have return as a senseless biological ball of flesh without her original soul to inteligently reanimate the retrived flesh & brain portion...
This clip illustrates how endlessly interchangeable the head portion of the bodie is... So I'm assuming the irretrievable human SOUL that animates the human body as a howl resides in the brain... Yes!!!!
Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 For this depicted ((snappy accent)) Procedure to go well to plan -The scientists assumption of EXACTLY were the human SOUL Resides in the body best be at least 100000000000000000000000000% SPOT ON CORRECT.. NOOOOOOO point in having your scouts head returned without the persons original resident SOUL still inside it in order to reanimate the remaining brain & Flesh.....
I like how they had to send a human to put a stick in the ground😂
People will do anything to get ahead.
🤦♂️
people will also do anything for head
People will do anything to get behead.
Not the time to lose one's head.
That's not the way to get ahead in life.
Of course, she’s trusting The Company with actually paying the money to take the head, send it to Earth, give her a totally new- undoubtedly beautiful upgraded body. BUT, since the company happens to be Weyland-Yutani…..what could Possibly go wrong?
Unfortunate extrenuous circumstances seems like a projectile from space hit the helmet.
(They actually just shot her)
They need her alive to make a legal claim of ownership of the planet
She be heading for trouble!
Heyyyy yo!
Gives a whole new meaning to "HEADS UP" lol
The concept of the suit is so gruesome and cool at the same time, I love it.
it's very warhammer/quake/dystopian nightmare esque
I would have loved to have been in the room where that concept was pitched....
"So hear me out...."
It's based in XIX century early scuba suits... French scuba suit 1882
In the book The Forever War space suits would cut of limbs to seal off breaches.
Ooooh .. medusa
Thats some grisly and dark foreshadowing
Who would name their kid that?
@@imthebadguy3225 Its not a name, its a callsign.
in order for the claim to be valid, the "flag" and the person who planted the "flag" must report to the "corporation" and finalize the transaction. the federation's laws doesnt specifiy how much of a person. So they give her a new body when she is collected from the retrieval ship that in orbit and Bring her(head) back to earth.
"Heading up!"
So they went all out to design the helmet for survival, but not the rest of the suit?
How about how they've figured out how to reconnect spinal cords to a new body, but material science is stuck in 1989?
@@williamthalman2708 This might shock you, but no material science advancement will ever defeat basic physics.
And basic physics says that, unless you have access to unlimited energy, the inside of that suit will eventually reach the same temperature as the outside, you can only try to delay that.
@MPeaches1958 About the helmet, it wasn't designed to survive the environment while the suit wasn't. It was designed to leave the environment before failing.
It's a design that makes sense? Probably not much, because that neck-chopping, helmet-sealing, mechanism would be a nightmare to make to work reliably.
But the idea behind the whole thing is relatively sound: The whole suit weights a lot (and needs to be that way to withstand Venus surface conditions), too much to have a self contained retrival device/mechanism, so only the relatively small and lightweight helmet leaves the surface.
Why not to use an expendable robot, automated or remotely controlled from orbit or high-atmosphere? No real reason, but suspension of disbelief is a thing.
Edit: Apparently there's a reason, and it's quite clever (I mean, the reason itself is dumb, but dumb like something that we would actually do in real life, and the author was quite clever at coming up with it).
By imscottbase:
"The revised space treaty of 2037 requires that the claim be made in person. This proves your organisation is creating the infrastructure to actually get to the surface and that you are serious about your claim.
Otherwise anyone could just send off hundreds of robot drones to automatically claim every rock in the solar system, with minimum effort - and henceforth have everyone else over a barrel."
Sounds crazy, but I could see some space mining company go "So you think we will spend money developing infrastructure on the surface of Venus just because now the presence of a human is required for a valid claim? Watch this."
Full body and suit would be too heavy to return to Venus orbit and later to Earth. One kilogram returned to Venus orbit is 10kg of fuel on Venus surface, 100kg on Venus orbit before landing, 1000kg on transit manouver, 10t on low earth orbit and 1 000t on Earth surface. Also suit failure is also predetermined at the missions start because basically venus atmosphere is hot acid. I bet the best they can do is to keep the head alive, new body for transplantation is unlikely.
Cutting costs.
Ok I've listened to the dialogue more carefully, apparently there is meant to be a new body on the Earth. Well then it sounds as realistic as the rest of the story.
Damn, this really shook me a bit. Incredible concept and execution. Loved the fail safe design of beginning the process by removing that pin. Felt so much more immersive than a stupid red button.
Actually....if you listen, mission control says "no one survives venus"
Well that was uplifting
👏👏👏
Love it! The reattachment surgery must be insane, would love to see a part 2 of this!
Yea. She just wakes up in a dang transformer.
this was done before...

Surgery team led by the Head Nurse.
They'll put her head on a horse, and make a Centaur.
Superbly done, short, sweet and as different as you get.
This fucked with my head.
Absolutely brilliant. So much said in such a short time
I can see an army of volunteers, people with cancer, etc., who’d love a second chance!
Did you know : This entire episode has been made without any CGI. °W°
So cool that they filmed this on venus.
And it took 148 takes to get right...🤣🤣👿👿
I can tell by the natural look, it's all real.
"Everybody was harmed making this Video!"
@@Mt-zr5bf Except the director, HAL 9000
Reminds me of the spacesuits in 'The Forever War' by Joe Haldeman. Say an appendage is crushed (as happens to the protagonist) and one of many irises in the suit lops off said appendage and the suit relases painkillers to the occupant. I think I'd rather wear of of those suits than this one. 😂
Exactly my first thought. The Forever War
Hey, bodies are cheap, brains ain't.
Wow that is ASTONISHINGLY cool! It might be even better as a music video, given the length and the story. Still absolutely awesome as it is! Just wow. Mind-blowingly good. I felt like kid and it's priceless.
beautiful, love the new suit design :3
This is really good content! Beautifully done.
The artwork is good .
The music is good.
They are a good combination
Very "Ship of Theseus" meets "Ghost in the Shell".
Well made. Congrats.
That would be a hard job to take.
Many metaphysical ontology questions.
What is "you"?
Your head? Your brain? How much of it?
Why not just your cerebrum? Don't need a spinal stem, hypothalamus nor cerebellum without a body!
At what point is it no longer you coming home?
If you go to Vebus , but only your head comes home, are you the same person?
The things people do to "get a head" in life.
wow. that was way too cool to not be extended into a short film, at least 10-12 minutes!!!
Hopefully not built by Boeing.
Damn, it's been a long time since I've been this surprised. Who got such an idea ? 😳
Brilliant, this needs to be a movie or series
Dear sweet lord! 😱
That was something!
But I need more and I don't care if it's an AI video, a book, a comics, or what ever you feel like... We need more!!! 🥺

That's very good, no body survives.... well thought out, animated and produced... look forward to seeing more from you
Classic corporate gain over human life. No body waiting back at Earth no doubt. Great short.
Just to add something to the convo, they aren’t necessarily just Frankenstein grafting the head onto a mint bod, maybe they’re preserving specific sections of the brain or tissues to extract DNA to construct a new body for her reconstituted consciousness, etc. THEN they’ll apply the Elmers glue.
Da Fuq! Very unexpected. Very good! Thank You! Best Regards and Best Wishes!
let's hope so she won't eject any light beams from her eyes...
So sick. I love it. I can't wait.
Well, that escalated quickly . . . -C
The things people do to "get a head" in life.
I'd watch a full movie of this!
Cryo freeze and then decapitation as an ejection system... thats fucking metal!
It certainly begs the question the authenticity of the human soul when cloning is viable.
at least she got a heads up
I focused on, and tracked the readouts as carefully as I could when visible. In the short, it looks like a power problem that reduces her life support, and hence survival time to just under two minutes. The hull integrity never drops below 42% pre-beheading, nore creaks under danger of buckling. In the comic, the leg gives way, (scorching her limb) alongside power consistency problems. Would you say that's an accurate assessment?
Nice short movie. Respect
The things people do to "get a head" in life.
"A world where nobody can survive" - um, that's pretty much all of them.
„Inhospitable“ as an animated clip. I LOVE it 😁👍
I was sleeping ready to hate this, but I love this concept. The animation, writing, and execution are on point
I loved the OG comic this is based on
Seeing something actually original on here: thank you!
Budget restrictions, we could only afford a small balloon. Head reattachment is fully reimbursed by healthcare tho, so good news, we have a solution to bring you back !
In the original comics, the reason they could only pull back her head is that the gravity of venus is too much to pull the full suit...
Amazing!! Love the mix of vfx styles, making the suit look stop motion (or was it?!) Really special, beautifully made. More, please!!!
-"Remind me why I'm doing this".
-"State-of-the-art new body".
May be they selected people with some kind of terminal illness for this kind of missions?
She certainly didn't look well
If you look at the display, the interior of the suit is 40c, or 104 degrees, at the end its 43/109 degrees in there, she is basically in a sauna at that point, its hot as heck in that suit.
@@WizelBalan Yes. You're right.
Should we say that no body survives but a head can survive Venus?
Took me a while to notice the pun
I liked it!
This needs to be a movie
absolutely fabulous, classic style, brand new idea, sci-fi.
The things people do to "get a head" in life.
Generalnie świetny filmik. Naprawdę kawał dobrej roboty. Klimat, postacie Medusa i Operator... no po prostu rewelacja.
Hell of a way to pay the rent.
Right off the bat I assumed the astronaut had a terminal illness (e.g. cancer or something) and this was the answer. Sort of a more serious, more interesting spin on the Jake Sully/Wade Wilson concepts.
Her head will be transplanted onto a new body.
I wonder what’s so important on Venus that it requires staking a claim?
i imagine it's some twisted corpo-dystopia where giant companies fight for celestial body claim in order to exploit its resources.
Venus may have vast deposits of minerals such as iron ore, nickel, titanium, aluminum oxide among others just like those found on Earth.
MINE!
I guess to be legal, it had to be staked by a human.
In the opening radio chatter it sounded like James Raynor, so i got excited and thougt it was a first trailer of a new Starcraft game 😅
when you ready to do lanything to pay your "rocket science" student loan :)
She should have quit while she was ahead. Ah wait, she IS a head!
Sencillamente INCREIBLE
Excellent casting. Astronauts are usually 20 year old athletes. It suggests she might be doing it for vanity.
Misses one of the cooler aspects of Venus; The atmosphere is so refractive that everything looks hyperbolic. The horizon actually curves upwards at the edges.
This looks like it could have been taken right out of heavy metal magazine
This was awesome. Loved how it looks like an actual human. Very well done
Surrealistic Pillow, Remember what the doormouse said, “Keep your head”
[Verse 4]
"When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Remember what the Dormouse said
FEED your head
FEED your head".
There's of course much to be discussed (why they land there - extraction, resources, geopolitics, mad ambitions; the suit - why not save whole body), but the idea is great and creepy a the same time. Should be extended into 10-20 minutes movie. I'd say that here she takes it to lightly. The suit escape should be presented as the last resort solution, dangerous and used very seldom.
That was really clever. 👍
Simple robot could do that.
Well, at least it didn’t cost an arm and a leg to plant that flag.
That's one way to get ahead. 😀
Wowwwwww 10/10 Insane!
Excellent! Love the space suit.
Great stuff! Well done
Bravo. a great concept. It's really cool - it's such a simple and ingenious idea. decent Sci-fi.
Ah. I see, they waited for a very calm day on Venus to get the shot. I mean hardl to film a clean picture, when acid rain hits you at the speed of sound :D
Also - did the camera man survive the same way? They are the unsung heroes of this kind of movies.
Enjoyed it! Thank you
I bet she felt lightheaded doing that.
I want to see this in theaters!!
The Future of home owning be like.
The things people do to "get a head" in life.
Now that is f’ed up, but in a brilliant way.
Truly a dystopian play on words
No “body” survived venus. Clever
Beautifully made, greatly acted, creepy and surprising concept... Only one thing doesn't makes sense. Do they really with all this technology need a human to put a stick in the ground?
Awesome. But surely they could just have a robot do that? Or perhaps it's a legal requirement for a human to stake a claim.
Ellen Ripley, eat your heart out!👽
The comic this is based on is "Inhospitable"
She has a nice head up display in that helmet...
mindblowing!
lol 😂
Damn they really mean no BODY survives Venus
You'd better find some body to love....
She’ll never be the head of a major corporation.
So in the space realestate race it must be a human that stakes the claim and not a drone?
Exactly. You need to be able to show you have the technological mastery to actually service the claim. Otherwise there would just be frivolous land grabs by cheap drones.
It's inspired by space races in the 60's, the head that decapitated inspired by the actual soviet inhuman experiment, the experiment to know how long the decapitated head survives with just only live support. system.
@@scottbase7159 Would not a drone be able to accomplish the same thing as far as servicing the claim? Because all shown here was staking the claim. Doing that and retrieving the drone intact would seem to show even more technological mastery.
Law requires a presence. Law does not stipulate how long the presence is there, just proof that it was (e.g. planting the flag and the body)
Oh this is more than just real estate. There is something important on Venus that hasn’t been found elsewhere in the solar system.
I'm gettin' Repo! Genetic Opera vibes. Doesn't really need to make sense, just needs to be goth/metal as fuck. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard would approve
very cool, but wonder what theyd have to use to fill a balloon in a 1,000 bar environment
It would have been fun if the falling suit would have crushed the experiment pole...
