9:06 I often get expensive Pelikan pens where the slit hasn't been correctly cut in the middle of the nib - so one tine is wider than the other - apparently yes it's a common factory issue! Sometimes the slit barely goes through the central hole.

From start to finish, this is a divine list to die for, Emy. This price range is a rarefied zone of fountain pen royalty.
The Spitfire pen, particularly, makes me wish I owned one myself. I also realize that Danitrio pens always interested and appealed to me a lot. I don’t own one yet. I love ALL the pens you showed.
I own exactly ten pens in the $1,000+ range, all of which I’ll love and keep as long as I live:

:D thank you so so much ! I agree this is a very exuberant zone for pens - this tear 1000 and above. I still remember the time when I wrote a message wanting to review one of the Spitfire pens, and I had to pick up my jaw when I got it delivered - I just said, "I have to get one! - like ASAP". Your list reflects a very fine taste my friend, I see an attraction to celluloids and fine materials like sterling silver, I see class and finesse
It was so much fun seeing a few of these in person when we visited over the summer!

Sometimes, my only problem with pens of such price range is their abnormally thick grip sections. Right, The Only Problem, hah! Even The KoP seems a bit too thick for me. I guess they aren't meant for everyday and long form writing.
Yup... usually the higher end pens comes sometime with oversizes gripping points, I have small hands so usually I spot this very easy, but since im not writing more than a few pages with my pens each day... and having so many normal size 6 nibs with thinner sections to mingle with the higher tier ones... I think I haven't been that much affected

Loved all the tiers in your collection! I love that it's not random but very personal and very curated to your tastes. And that's how it should be in my opinion..
I love going through your site and find gems to add to my own collection. I find that your specialty is amazing collabs and exclusives, so I'm always curious to see what you come up with next.
And if and when I get something from your site, I really like that you take your time to make the whole experience sincere and personal with touches like the written notes and tuning of the nibs... so thank you for all of it.

This year I tried tiers which is the ore logical approach in judging what goes where :D
Thank you for your consideration always, with the exclusives I try to be always 3 persons at the same time, first I want to be the manufacturer that needs to have possibility of manufacturing with those changes proposed in order to no disrupt the company flow, second - I want to be the person that welcomes one of these in its collection - why it would choose it? where I can bring him value and joy? where can we have a trade where more value is offered both physically and emotional? and last - I want to be me, me thinking at what I live behind as a creation, do I feel proud to put such a pen and to have my name behind it?... when all these reflections meet in a point, we have an exclusive of Pen Venture :D

First, I acknowedge the fact that you have great taste in chosing fountain pens. Second, totally agree on your views concerning Sailor nibs. I happen to own both a Naginata Togi broad and a Sailor KOP, within a collection of high end pens, both nibs are spectacular and on a league all their own, they are sublime. Happy 2024 with all your precious fountain pens!

I humbly take it as a compliment :D I dont know if this is just on my pen or on all high end Sailor pens, sincee I have not yet tried that many high end pieces, but the nib on this nr1 pen ... is really the very best. I pulled it out in a meeting in Italy in a meeting with a CEO of a pen company and he tried the nib while we having a talk about improving their nibs... he couldnt stop writing with it and asking what is this... ?! :))
