I saw a Death's Head in my very first Lancer campaign. It was loaded with the super-heavy Cyclone Pulse Rifle and every time it fired it hit and mulched whatever it was pointing at. It took a health bar off the Boss on turn 1 and said boss used a homebrew mechanic to tear the pulse rifle off it's chassis. Several parts of that build were nerfed but that mech is so reliable
Ah, my Australian squadmate's favourite rig, thrown on some 'salvage' from a swallowtail and some heat management tech and he drops enemy combatants before they even know it's a fight. Nothing I'd rather have on overwatch.
The Death's Head is like the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. All that detail and skill and craftsmanship dedicated to min-maxing the simplest task. Is it the fanciest thing they ever made? Heck no. Is it the best at what it does? Boy howdy!
I mean, at the base it is supposed to be a sniper mech, but thanks to those traits it can very well become the big piece of self-propelled artillery that, despite being less armed than the Barbarossa, can easily scuttle around the margins of the battlefield and hitting targets from unreachable locations. Also, a howitzer can be used as a gigantic sniping cannon if aimed low enough, a mortar can also be used for sniping, you only need to have to calculate the exact spot on where to land the shell to cause the most damages and, if the missile batteries launch self-guided rockets, the batteries are the most accurate weapons a “mech-hunter” could use for indirect fire.
@@alessiogiovannetti513 I was introduced to Lancer recently but I've been devouring hours of video about it ever since I had my introduction games with a group of friends. I spent hours theorycrafting a mech and ended up with the setup stated above. My favorite deaths head build? The A10 Warthog! Give that spider some butt boosters, a heavy machine gun, and cover fire. Now its flying all over the battlefiled marking targets, raining lead, and raining more lead one other peoples turns. The heavy machine gun glue sniffing is real with this one.
This series means a lot to me. I first binged all of your lancer videos when I was moving, now I’m rewatching them after getting teeth removed. Your vids make me feel better!
I love combining tracking bug with phase ready mod from the Napoleon license. normally the phase ready mod lets you attack enemies through cover/behind walls, but they count as being invisible, since, ya know, you can't see through walls. except now you can see them through walls and they can't benefit from invisibility :)
Considering the tracking bug being basically a Spider-Tracer, the mag clamps, and precognitive targeting, this really IS the license you take to become mecha Spider-Man. And with the Swallowtail, you pretty much become a Tachikoma.
The goblins flavor is insain, and some of my favorite. You think the mechs fairly normal and safe compared to the rest hours... But then you read, and you can't help but yell "oh my god! That horrifying." I really hope you do it justice in your next video.
ya. it is A MONSTER. but i cant wait till he gets around to the kobold that little fuck has me writen all over it because its a "wtf is a battlefeild all i see is weapons and spontanius cover placements"

I just imagine a lancer with a death’s head who just misses someone , takes a deep breath, and makes his enemy pay for all the frustration of the week. Also, I skipped the Drake video to watch it later, and then I never saw you again. I don’t know why you were shadowbanned, but I’m happy to have you back.
I am ALWAYS a fan of mechs that breaks the typical humanoid form Death Head, Lancaster, Kidd, Minotaur, Swallotail I love them and always want to see more of them and to play them just by their designs

We NEED one of these for Caliban ;-; Little doom boi full of enough rage to topple mountains. Pls. He needs it. His shotgun hasn't seen blood in weeks. The walls haven't been painted red for equally as long.
After checking out all other mechs and abilities, Death's Head seems to be perfect for me, since in games like this one I like to stack a ton of bonuses for damage. And Death's Head's accuracy bonuses work nicely with talents that improve critical hits.
As a Swallowtail pilot, let me say I am of the same mind as Mr Reginald here. As a fellow spider mech enjoyer I'm glad to play spotter to you fine gentlemen or ladies any day.
I was talking to my brother just last week about about how in mech media I've always had a special place in my heart for specifically the spider mechs, ever since playing final fantasy 8 as a kid and being chased by and fighting that spider tank in the early game.

deaths head has always been one of my fav frames in the game. its a little disappointing how the core power is rarely used but its possible to make it work if you take cyclone pulse rifle and ASURA
Death's head design looks very inspired by the Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, very cool mech with a weirdly somewhat functional design for a mecha
Ah, a spider tank, will it talk about existential and philosophical tangents and the sense of dread? No, its here to shoot your FTL ship into multiple pieces.
As cool as the Frame is, I don't really like any of the equipment the Death's Head unlocks for a few reasons. The biggest one is the "ordinance" tag, in practice this kills weapon usage much harder than you would first think, on a line weapon it makes it so you NEED an ally to control the enemies movement to hit more than 1. GMS (the unlocked from the start equipment) has better options. If your looking for line, a Thermal Lance is much more usable, if you want a sniper the Cyclone Pulse Rifle is *kiss* The Tracking Bug is expensive SP wise AND gives you LESS info than the default scan action, its only plus it it updates the info every round. Finally, +Accuracy is nice but keep in mind it suffers exponentially diminishing returns as it DOES NOT STACK, it is keep the highest. So if you have 10 Accuracy, you can still only get a +6 to your attack, you just have 10 chances to roll a 6. The Frame is good to support a lot of equipment & weapons from other licenses, so if you can put off taking it till LL5 you will be much better off, and at that point be much better able to crit to actually benefit from the core power.
That Marked for Death Core Power... *Does not* play well with Ordinance or Loading, which are both pretty damn common among sniper-style weapons. Only able to shoot once every three turns basically, and relying on enemies *not* moving... Really didn't work too hot. And then Oleander came out and I put Nanocomposite Adaptation on the railgun and was suddenly living the dream.
I love the Precognition Targeting is just ZERO System from Gundam Wing. A weird mind synchronization technology that can read the future that even the creator don't know how and why? Sure lol, put it in a sniper mech!
