I was remodeled well. Fortunately it appears to be a somewhat better situation for buyers currently in many areas. My purchase was in central Texas.
I'm not sure I understand your comment. People certainly can and do lose their earnest money. It doesn't happen often, but it is a risk factor people need to understand and consider when purchasing a home.

I think it's more about the arbitration or court costs that is going to occur, most people don't want to deal with it
