These Santa’s are so adorable! I purchased them! Already stitched Santa #1 Thank you Jess .. I must say these stitch out so beautiful. ( thank you! Bonnie)
Oh wow they are soooo cute. I have just bought an embroidery machine and beginning to learn what it can do. HTV appliqué? Who’d have thought of that! It’s amazing! I shall def be doing some of these! Xx
I love that bag you made. I cannot find the pattern. I have never made a bag before but want to make one exactly like yours and of course the vinyl and Santa too
It would be awesome if the design came with svg files for the cricut. Then you could just place it on the placement stitch and iron it down with no further cutting required 🤔
Ok, now that I finished watching the whole video, I will be waiting the one on the em1010. I can tell you that you can still float on the hoop for the em1010, I usually use instead of wonder clips, hair clips, the big ones, and work fine, OR just use tape. Also, on the vinyl, most people don't iron the the vinyl until the design is complete. You can keep working your appliqué as the thread will keep the vinyl down, and if you have a heat press just press it there, use the fabric you use on top still OR parchment paper. I do not own a heat press, but I use at the end the Cricut Easypress 2 to cover the whole design, with the parchment paper between the presser and the design and it activates the vinyl adhesive all at once.... just different ways to do it.... LOVE your easy way to explain and step by step demonstration and LOVE these design, will have to buy them....
Jess you did a fantastic job demonstrating. Tip--I like to use a color that's different than the GlitterFlex by a few shades so that it's easier to see where to trim. All that sparkle makes it harder to see the stitches if they're the same color. The satin stitch will cover everything. I LOVE the bag idea. Will have to make some.
Hi, Jessica! I love this vinyl for this project but am needing solid color vinyls to embroider on key fobs I am making as keepsakes for my brother’s Celebration of Life. One side will have NASCAR quilting fabric and the embroidery side will be vinyl. Can you recommend a vendor for solid vinyls I can easily embroider fonts on? TIA!
I’m new to embroidery how do you know when to put down material for appliqué and when it’s just stitching ? Do these embroidery designs come with instructions?
Hello. I've tried doing this with a regular iron but it melted my back vinyl. I'm thinking my iron may have been too hot. I will purchase the mini iron like yours. Which heat settings did you use? Thanks.
Hi...... I loved loved loved your tutorial of embroidering monograms on hats (em1010)... I thought this would be another em1010.... Was it because you had to float? Because either the 8-in-1 hoop, which uses a stick stabilizer and you just stick it on it, like floating.... OR the magnetic hoop master... Just wondering... I have a single-needle machine which I use for monograms or 1-color designs, but everything else goes to my multi-needle....
Great video! Definitely making some of these little guys for Christmas. Have a Viking Designer SE, and while I love her, whenever I try to do embroidery she gets a little temperamental. I think it’s tension issues too, so I’m going to try a thread holder like you demonstrated, but what type of thread do you use in your bobbin? Regular sewing thread?
What size needle do u use on embroidery machine when embroidering vinyl, does it leave tiny holes around your embroidery design, im trying to get rid of holes around my design, not sure if u can ..
Miss Jess, the HTV vinyl you used: Is it the actual HTV from cricut that i've used on T shirts or is it a completely different vinyl? I'm concerned that the HTV from cricut would not hold up with all the needle punching that goes on with embroidery. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Awesome video! I have the same Tula Bernina and I haven’t been able to get mine to ever cut jump stitches. Did yours ever cut them?? I have only had mine a couple months but it’s never worked. I’ve been trying to find someone with the same machine to ask. 😁
So my cutter hasn't worked for awhile, which is why I just don't bother with it. It did work with jump stitches before, but honestly after it cut it would often get jammed on the next stitch.
I just love those Santa clauses. So cute and now I really need an embroidery machine. I should put the machine on my Christmas list. Do you recommend a beginner embroidery machine?
Don't get a Singer Futura. I had nothing but trouble with it. I now have a 12 needle, by Texmac, but that is not a beginner machine. Maybe look at a Brother. They are pretty reliable.
I would look at what size designs you want to use and look for a machine that has them available. So be sure to think about the things you see and love, then check out the size. It is so intimidating to know what to look for if you haven't done it before. Do you have a sewing center nearby that can let you sew on their machines before you buy? Also, maintenance nearby is good to have too. I started with a Singer Futura XL400 and it wasn't centering properly. Super frustrating but because I bought it on Amazon, I didn't have maintenance contract. Luckily, when I bought my Husqvarna Viking Topaz50, the shop sent in my Singer and fixed it without charging me! I do like my Singer too but also have a HV Ruby DeLuxe too. I don't know if any of this helps you but I hope so.
The most popular starter machine I've seen is the Brother PE800. The price fluctuates a lot, but usually around the holidays it's at its lowest (around 500) amzn.to/36f3GX0
I have a s brother stellaire and a 800e embroidery machines, I had these before I went into bag making. I think $20 is too much, as I would only use one or two of the Xmas designs, I have some lovely Applique Xmas designs that are a fraction of the cost. You as always did a fab video xx
I have a video request please. I notice you make a lot of totes and I would like to make some totes in various sizes. I have researched and researched and I still haven't totally figured this out. When you want a tote let's say to end up being 6 in wide by 10 inches tall, with the boxed bottom let's say a 2-in depth, How do you know what size to cut out the pattern? because from what I understand when you add the box bottom you lose some of the height and width too, but more height I think. Can you make a video on the formula for figuring all of this out and also take into account the seams. This would be so greatly appreciated.
2 INCH DEPTH = 2 INCH SQUARE CUTOUT. SO, 10 INCHES TALL, PLUS THE 2 INCH FOR DEPTH, PLUS THE AMOUNT OF YOUR SEAM ALLOWANCES, BOTTOM AND TOP. WIDTH - 6 inches, plus seam allowances, plus 2 inches for box bottom, therefor, 13 tall, x 9. top will change depending on how much seam allowance. try this on a cheap piece of fabric or even paper to see how it works out. good luck
@@barbra429 assuming a 1/2 inch seam allowance. You could do 3/8" but deduct 1/4" from the total height. i.e. 12 3/4 instead of 13. and 8 3/4" instead of 9. Those are the sizes for cutting out. (cutting 2 - 1 front and 1 back) The best way to try is to use a cheap piece of fabric. try a pillowcase from a goodwill store and cut it up. This will give you a template for the others you want to try.
@@4golfing Thanks for the suggestions. My main concern is I know sometimes you can do box corners and your tote ends up narrowing towards the bottom or there's some totes that are just straight rectangles. I'm trying to create a pattern for one that's straight I don't want it to be narrowed towards the bottom and I'm trying to figure out what causes this to happen.
@@barbra429 I would suggest you cut it a little wider on your template. I do not know why it would be wider at the top, unless your seams. Do you have a pattern you are following? I am attaching the Clydebank hobo. it is a free pattern that I have made and is quite easy. ua-cam.com/video/zrc3cDTcVLo/v-deo.html Let me know how it goes. Hope this works

You're in luck. The designs do come with SVG files so you can cut the applique pieces out with your electronic cutting machine. =)

Thank you so much Bonnie!! I totally agree, I even told myself not to use red thread first... totally forgot about the black boots!
@@OklaRoots It happens to all of us believe me. My "mature eyes" need a higher contrast.
I was hoping you would be telling about size of needles and should the stitch count be changed on the vinyl..

So cute!! Are you having sewing problems with this machine?? I’m struggling with it.
I’m new to embroidery how do you know when to put down material for appliqué and when it’s just stitching ? Do these embroidery designs come with instructions?
That panel might work on a Bonnie bucket bag.
Awwww it would be adorable on a Bonnie!
Is it possible to iron HTV after stitching is complete and has been removed from the hoop instead of as you go?

You also float cork material too.
Great tip! Thank you Susan!
How do you line up the design correctly, after you removed it from the hoop then put it back? I have never got a design to line back up right!
Jess took the hoop off the machine but she didn't take the fabric off or out of the hoop so everything stayed in place as it should. =)
Yup what Bonnie said. I never take the material out of the hoop until I'm totally done.

Thanks Angela! Each Santa is sold individually as well.
Why are you not hooping the Vinyl with the stabilizer in the hoop?
I thought you were working on your Multi Needle Machine.
Explanation at 7:48
Cindy, the vinyl would be too bulky plus the hoop would "burn" the vinyl leaving hoop mark's in it.
The hoop creases the vinyl and also pulls it too tight. Vinyl is great when floating. I'll show this with the 10 needle next week!
Really, really easy to sew your finger when holding down those small pieces. Ask me how I know..
Oh no Susan!! That's my biggest fear.
