Thank you, I received my Kit from Sallie Tomato yesterday and I have a wonderful finished wallet today in hours. (UFO) Thanks to both of you. Your way of making corners, turned out great. :)
I just downloaded the pattern. I like the way you did the corners it's more finished looking. I really like the way you encourage all of us that watch you. Thank you so much.
Wow you are so right!! I did three already today so fun to make these and I can’t believe how easy and quick it was to finish them!! The adjustment you did is just perfect it folds like it belongs there!! You’re the best Jess I never miss your videos!! Happy holidays!!💝
I just ordered this pattern yesterday. Thanks for the great step by step. I think I’m going to try replacing the zipper pocket with another set of card slots. The card slots will be much more useful for me.
Seriously, this is the cutest easy wallet especially for smaller bags. I think the only things I would do different is to make a fold over snap tab on the exterior and do the double stitching on the outside. Ooooh - how about instead of the zipper pocket put more card slots then make a zipper pocket on the outside? Might be too bulky but I would try it. Just make sure the zipper pocket is on the opposite end - assuming you still have the "slip" pocket area behind the card slots where the zipper pocket was. If that makes sense. So many variations!! I like the one you made in the tutorial the best - sew scrappy!
Great tutorial, thanks Jessica! Such a clever, functional & cute pattern that can be customized for everyone with fabric choices & what a great fabric scrap buster! Love Sallie Tomato patterns & zippers.
OMG! quick , small and cute project !, amazingly beautiful for my daughter’s second grade teacher Christmas gift !!! Jessica, You have the best UA-cam Chanel ever!! Your nice, clean and very good taste projects are simply wonderful! Trust me , I watch tutorials in Ingles, Portuguese, Spanish and French ( Languages that I speak) and you are way fair way good from all of them. I want to be your friend 😂.
So cute. Thanks for the step by step instructions. I did my first wallet for my Bestie and made it girlie. I was able to successfully use a 7" premade zipper. It wasn't easy but I am not experienced enough to deal with that intensity. It came out ubber cute. I made it ocean teamed and lined with a turtle fabric that I got off Etsy. Thanks again Jess!
I absolutely love your videos 🥰 Thanks for not rushing a project and explaining everything so clearly. I’d be interested in seeing a Zippy Crossbody bag being done.
I have never made a wallet because they are too daunting for me with all of the pieces etc. but this one looks easy and stylish! You make me want to give it a try
Thanks Jess for a great tutorial as always. Didn’t even realize I owned this Sallie Tomato pattern… so I’m late to the party 😁. Great for all the small leftover pieces of cork & vinyl in my stash. Finished it in just a few hours. A very quick make and already have another one cut and ready to sew.
Would you do the Ginger Pattern by Sallie Tomato, it's a crossbody bag? ... Oh, and I love your videos! I love bags and I love sewing, you see where this is going? Of course it did... I am addicted to your channel and I couldn't have found you at a better time!! My youngest adult child has been dealing with a lot this week, therefore I have been too! Except silently! Watching your videos have helped me to pass the days when I needed something to be excited about and you can't put my 2 Fav things together and it not be exactly what this girl/wife/mom/I needed!!! Thank you so much!!! 🤗 ❤️
I have this pattern but have not had a chance to make it yet!! I will be making lots of these for gifts soon! I have been to Sallie Tomato's store/warehouse in Wisconsin and everyone is so helpful and kind to customers! I love their products and patterns also.
Hi Jess. Could you talk a bit about needles and feet for different materials? Some people say use a jeans needle for faux leather, some say to use a leather needle. And what do you use for vinyl or cork? And you say to use a zipper foot. Should it be a teflon zipper foot or does it matter? I just started making bags and you're a big part of that! Thank you for your energetic, upbeat personality and being so concise in teaching these skills. Your guidance makes it so much easier to attempt a complicated bag.
Great help & cute pattern! Love the idea for scrap cotton lining on main piece. Would love to see a tutorial for Luci bag. Have made 2 but struggled a little on main zipper technique. Thanks, great job!
I made one for my grandson. I wanted it to match the Spiderman shirt I made him so it is all quilt cotton. Interfaced the heck out of everything but Decovil heavy for the main piece. It won't hold up to legit use but as Gabe is 3 and this will be a toy I think we are good.
I love this! Could you add a clear ID pocket on the back? No idea how to... just thought it would be a nice addition... thanks again for a great tutorial!
Thank you Jess for all the amazing things you thought me/ us 🙏🏻💕 I am about to make this cute wallet for my twin grand boys and I am wondering if I can use a “normal” zipper and cut the ends of . I guess I can, weird in my head when I think about it 🤪
I'm gonna have to try this one! I will figure out how to turn the card slots around so they face inside the wallet though, otherwise I will worry about cards slipping out.
@@suzannewalker2090 Yes, I know, and that is great!... I'm talking about all the physical wonderful items they sell: hardware, zippers, cork fabric, ...
@@ariadnasunol356 they aren’t wonderful, don’t worry, you aren’t missing out! Patterns are great, physical items...not so much and customer service sucks!!
My concern for a man’s wallet is the heavy zipper pull. This might be a place for a dressmaker’s zipper. If I cut off the stops, can I reattach the pull on that kind of zipper? Great pattern!
Someone else asked this question, but didn't get an answer. What type of fabric did you use for the Credit Card pieces? I also wanted to know where you get the white chalk pen? I really love how easy that is to use. I'm thinking of buying this pattern because it looks so nice. I'm not crazy about the zipper part, and worry I won't get it to slide on right. I would love to make one for my husband. It looks more like a mans wallet than a woman's wallet. Anyone else think this? I suppose either or could use it. Thank you Jess for a super tutorial as usual!!!
Just curious - in place of faux leather could you use real leather? I've never worked with it so I don't know if the edges stay clean. Love the tutorial!!!!!
I purchased the downloadable pattern for this wallet and was directed to come here for the class. My pattern only gives me page one a picture of the wallet in two different fabrics and page two the dimensions and what fabrics to use and how much there's no pattern no directions on how to cut it out no dimensions for each piece and your online class now is not giving me that either what am I missing? Actually I know what I'm missing it's where do I get it? Never mind, my dilemma was solved! Since it was a compressed file I couldn't download it to my phone and open it up I had to download it to the computer and open the zip file so then it showed up as two separate downloads One was just the cover front and back which I had and the other was the instructions. Glad I figured it out now I'm off to making wallets!
Hi Jess! I would love to send you some gifts from our shop. Is there any way I could get the address to send the package to? 😊 Your videos have helped me tremendously and my bag sewing skills are improving while watching you work your magic. Thank you for making amazing tutorials! 💕
I'm not an expert, but since the top side of the opening of the wallet is "free" then I think you could modify and make it (the exterior piece) as tall as you need. Sew a mock up using just scrap fabric without the zipper pocket and card slots just using the base/background and your modified exterior. I bet it will work great. Try it!
Do you have a tutorial on how to make a tote insert or organizer where you have different little slots sewn in for each of your tote items I hope I'm describing this right.

This is so cute
Another great tutorial! Thank you! Would love to see a tutorial of the backyard caddy from Sallie Tomato.

It's a top 10 pattern for sure!
I would like without zipper and more card slots on the zipper side.
I save all the junk mail cards I get cause they are the size of credit cards and put in pockets to make sure they fit and when I store the wallet.
