thank you for taking time to make these videos, I have been doing transmissions for some years but as yet haven't done 6L80 and would love to see more videos on the rebuilding and re assembly process. Thank you again and cheers from down under.
Your honestly a great help, I'm very grateful for your videos you've helped me a lot more than you can imagine and I've never met you lol, just gor a truck for my sister and sadly transmissions started acting up 6l90e but thanks to you and your videos I'll be able to overhaul it and save her money and I gain more knowledge.... God bless you
Very good info Hiram , we have started seeing alot of these units in recent months. Every single one of them we strip have bad valves. Thanks for sharing !
Hi Hiram, Don't sell yourself short. Your explanations of technical issues are perfectly clear, worthy of any classroom setting. I really appreciate when you show the hydraulic drawings and explain functions. On another subject have you ever done vacuum checking of valve bodies and do you think it is necessary? Thanks for providing the videos I learn something new every time.
Damn, this was a good video, but I'm going to have to do a little more research on my own on hydraulic schematics to get a full understanding , but these videos definitely do help out, I really do appreciate you taking to time to upload these videos
Great Vid Hiram, Only thing I can think of is, it would be nice to see a Mitchell diagram of the affected Hydraulic-circuits in the pump. Oh, you did.....LOL
The line pressure acting on the end of the valve is the balance signal. Without it, the valve would not regulate. You are correct that the Transgo valve relocates the balance feed to the hollow portion of the valve as the longer land on the end of the valve blocks the original balance feed.
Great video Hirum. I enjoyed looking at the fluid schematics. This new valve will be ok if there is valve bore ware in the pump as well? Thanks for what you do.
Thank you, You do very good job & great video. What is the the best upgrade torque converter for 6L80 transmission? is it TCI torque converter, B&M Racing torque converter or RECON TOW PERFORMANCE TORQUE CONVERTER FOR GM 6L80/90 ???
Of course you know good and well what Kent-Moore probably charges for their legitimate special drum holding tool, you could probably buy a brand new Verus for. Greta job on the ingenuity on that part :)
I'm working on a 2003 Honda Odyssey trans and I'm having trouble with clearance on the 3,4,5. Installed new clutches and plates. only got .010 to.015. Same thickness plates were used as the stock plates. any suggestions would be appreciated.
hello i sent you a pm with a question about a trans problem i am having.like watching your videos maybe someday i might tackle one of these newer trans.
Hey Hiram I'm having an issue with a 6l80 wondering if you could hand me some advise , after trans if fully warm at about 170F the trans will display delay engagements in drive and reverse installed the trans go pr valve
All your videos are good, but I definitely like the direction these last couple of videos are going with the use of the oil schematic. This one especially since it takes the use of the oil schematic a step further by using it to identify worm tracks within the pump. Since this video deals with the subject of worn valves and bores, I'm wondering what your opinion of Wet Air Testing is. Is it something worth doing on a regular basis, or is one better off simply sticking to visual inspection of valves, like you demonstrated here?
The instructions for this now state install the new RED spring along with the original BUMPER spring. It says that in his instructions but it appears he failed to install it.
How would I get ahold of you sir. I'm here in Houston off of 45 at Scarsdale. I have a 2013 Silverado that does the shake and I have a 2014 Yukon denali that I wanna turn it to a stage two transmission.
Crazy Question: what if you forgot to install the filter? Could the transmission get fluid? Would it burn up? Darn, I though it was over at 14:55......OOps....................
Also, I thought that the fluid filter acted like the pic-up tube. No filter and no oil circulating through the transmission. I think I read that somewhere.
Do you have any videos on the 07 Cadillac SRX 6l50 transmission I have a shift solenoid issue I believe this is similar or the same transmission not sure of the difference between the 6 late and the 6 L 50 all-wheel drive that I have

Why can’t I find a good transmission guy like this around me

How do I identify what transmission is in my car and identify my valve body number
I had my 6l80 rebuilt and it sounds like a low power steering pump now took it back they said it was normal I think it's a pump problem.
WHAT KIND OF TORQUE CONVERTER DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THIS TRANSMISSION?
Thank you
HELLO IS THE PRESSURE TO HAVE THE BOX 6L80E
