Awesome job! I'm MRO from a different account. It's really fun to watch a new TAS of this, I especially liked the new solutions for Forest of Illusion and Rampageous.
Perfect video, it healed my ASD and ADHD. Just kidding. Well, a lot of people who ever touched SMW TASing have stepped down and actually only a few are still a part of this community. The reason is that stuff was becoming more and more optimized and closer to perfect. Also, this hack was never finished and it's such a shame. But I understand the reasons the project was under development hell. Not only is there an absurd amount of breaks, but some level design is now dated (whilst some ideas hold up pretty well up to this day) also worldpeace's life has been really busy lately, which means interest in SMW hacking had to step down. Anyway, both the run and C|C are game changers, the latter being one in SMW hacking history.
1:52 Wait how xd Finally Cool or Cruel got the TAS it deserves. I remember me and THEFINALBOSS aka Justin did the first levels together and were beating MROs time, but we were too lazy to finish.
1:52 Basically, the top of the camera that blocks mario/luigi from going upwards doesn't work as a ceiling, i'd say it works more like a force field, because mario;/luigi doesn't lose Y speed, normally, you need to have high Y speed so the game thinks your side hitbox is just 1 pixel above the blocks, so you can get pushed. In that situation, its a bit easier, because the quake caused by the thwomps help the camera to push luigi downwards, making him clip
when you hang onto one of those ropes and get pushed off of it by riding it into a wall or doing the thing he did at 5:34 (hopping on while the rope traverses through the block), the game continues to think that there is a climbable structure behind the player, at least thats how I remember it. Not sure whether it was possible in the vanilla game but I could imagine that one of these ropes passes a solid wall close enough to pull it off at some point, like those on/off blocks for example. Knowing that would have helped me a lot in the level where you have to fly to the secret exit because I never properly understood how to fly the cape as a kid lol
I love the soundtrack of this hack.
Amazing TAS!
Amazing TAS, i don't expected after 12 years see a new TAS of this hack
A really good surprise
20:57 That yoshification came outta nowhere, I love it! Incredible TAS, I'm honestly surprised by how clever it is.
This TAS is purely insane! Magnificent work my dear!

Incredible work! I was obsessed with this hack back in the day, so it's great to see content for it so recently!
19:50 Double-tonguing a fish just to go for the pokey stun instead of the reznor - amazing
Reznor in that room seems out of question, if its possible, the setup would probably be slower.
Legend!!! 🗣️🗣️
Excellent job destroying such a classical hack, and with some good surprises!
this has improved my life
Omg it's been a while since I've seen this hack, tysm
17:22 Super Mario Bros. - Overworld metal remix

*reads the end of the description*
Me too, dude.
4:40 clean as hell
Best hack room
Why do you kill the chuck in snarly ?
It creates framerates issue ?
It doesn't change anything, doesn't lose frames either.
Are -exit- gnarly and tubular not included in this hack? Because there should be stuff past where you ended
Nope, "Exit" was never released, Gnarly and Tubular are separated ROMs
5:48 what the.. wut is this tho
