My heart melts at 8:50 when you describe the feathers as "quite fluffy". Cuteness overload.
thought i was the only one who noticed that :)
I don't care if you made mistakes we all do. I was told by the woman who taught me how to do bobbin lace that no one will know where you've made your mistakes. And my mother in law favorite saying was a blind man would be glad to see the difference. I know that doesn't go in today's PC coach or but mistakes happen . And it's beautiful
I like how it’s just a nice British woman talking about embroidery while there’s just rock music playing in the back
Had to switch off didn't like music at all. So agitating
I don't like the music at all and it's not necessary to have constant noise in the background. So many people ruin their videos that way.
It’s like someone hijacked they’re music, goes from acid rock to the theme music of fantasy Island

Thank you for your reply. I will find the other video. You do really lovely embroidery. Would love to watch more of you stitching. I just ran across you today. I really like how you transfer your design with a needle. Makes a thin line. I like that. Have a wonderful day. 🌸
Thank you, you are very kind.
I love your video! because you show us exactly everything about the embroidery! And I love you show us how to end up each color in the back! Beeutifful job and Great video!👏👏
vipajoclto t Thank you so much, that is very kind. I am currently uploading a similar video about a wagtail and I would love to know what you think.
so soothing watching someone stitch. I loved it.
+Jacquelyn Emerick I am so pleased, please feel free to pass it on :) Have a great day
thank you ever so much
This is the 1st of your vid's I've watched, thanks so much, I cross stitch mostly but every now and then I want to embroider, my theme is birds mostly or nature and your work has encouraged me to give it a go. Please keep the vid's coming, thank you.
You have convinced me to try two strands with a finer needle. Your work is perfect! Thanks for sharing your method of tracing, too.
Sharon Opstbaum Thank you so much! I can be very persuasive ;-) I would love to know how you get on with it
Love the video, your skills, the music, and the birb. Subscribed 🥰
Thank you ever so much, I get so many negative comments about that video! If there is anything I can help you with, please let me know. Xxx
Very very interesting and explaining in a simple way which will be easier for the learners
Aww, thank you. Xxx
Parabéns muito lindo seu trabalho.👍
Aww, thank you. Xxx
Thanks, Ruth! Love , love it!
Aww, you are very welcome
Thank you for your reply. I'll be checking your future videos! I appreciate when people explain and show every detail of how they do their beautiful work! I wish I could embroider as good as you! I get so frustrated when I try because my embroidery looks pretty bad!🙈😀 maybe some day!😅
vipajoclto t Thank you again. If there is anything I can help you with, please just let me know
For a self taught that's fantastic...First couple of stitches could have been slow...but doesn't matter we can slow it down..
Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback
I am so pleased you liked it, please feel free to send pictures of your finished birds to www.craftjitsu.com
that's AMAZING !!!! you are a real artist !!! i've never done embroidery . i do cross stitching. after your video i am looking forward to try!!! thank you so much for the video )))
She's doing stem stitch for the feathers
Super creative! I use a Tajima machine so it’s quick but this must have taken a long time!
Designs Entertainment I saw your Netflix video, very cool
Thank you, all hand done but that machine sounds great
Beautiful work thanks for sharing.
That is very kind of you, thank you.
What kind of cloth is that?
what kind of cloth are you using. thanks
Can you tell me what kind of canvas you are using
Yes, it is cotton or polycotton. You could use calico or the back section of a man's shirt
It would be much more helpful if you did the first 4 or5 stitches slow, then speed up
HIon
I can't see anything on how to do this. Its way too fast. Maybe several stit hes slow so we can actually see what is being done.
@@kathygilray7902 You know you can slow down a youtube video, right?
Come to my channel dear
If you separate your threads first and then line them back up I find they don't knot so often.
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. Xxx
WOW you're really good at embroidering! thank you i was looking for some videos to improve my technique and i found it very useful
You are very talented!
You are very kind. Xxx
wow
Bellísimo tu creatividad en bordado Dios bendiga tus manos gracias por compartir Mimi Neme Tucumán Argentina
Thank you for the lovely comment. Xxx
Hi Ruth ! I really like your vids but also think it would be nice to see the first stitches in more detail. You did say it's the stem stitch but I would like to see more in detail your technique ( like explained for dummies XD ) since your completed work does have quite a nice finish to it. Something I have yet to accomplish! Thank you!!!!
Valeria Paciocco Thank you for taking the time to write. I have since realised that it is not very clear, so I have made one video of a lotus flower stitched in real time and a wagtail in the same style as the chaffinch. I am also going to do a series of beginner stitch videos in the near future, so hopefully your questions will be answered, but please feel free to ask more. Have a great weekend
Thank you I appreciate the feedback, I do have another video of a lotus flower that is stitched in real time
I just stumbled onto your video. It's amazing and your work is gorgeous. What type of material is that you are stitching on? It looks like linen and can i purchase the fabric online? (I'm in the US). Thanks for sharing your beautiful work, talent, and instruction.
Aww, that is very sweet thank you!! The fabric is a cotton or polycotton. I use uncalled fabrics, so it was probably a shirt. It might tell you in the first video
That bird looks great!
What technique did you use to transfer image
I think it was dressmakers carbon paper. The previous video will explain in more detail. Thanks for the feedback. Xxx
Me inscrevi no canal !
No aprendi nada
Very nice indeed. Where did you get your outline of the bird?
Thank you. I traced a photo and used dressmakers carbon paper.
@@ruthnorbury53 thanks
Thank you. Xxx
Belíssimo um verdadeiro encanto.
Is this song from the video game Dynasty Warriors??
I don't know I am afraid, it is a royalty free piece by Kevin McCloud
Thanks the video is helping me with embroidery Could we have the bird pattern as well as instructions for colors? Thanks again
Even at a quarter speed it isn’t all that clear how the stitching is done. If you could do a really close up of a few stitches, then cut and bring us back in when the section is done it would be more watchable! Congrats on the bird though, I’d love to see a Robin!
Quantos fios da meada você usou?
2. Sometimes I use different colours at the same time, but nearly always 2. Xxx
@@ruthnorbury53 Obrigada!😍
Your movements and the music make me want to drop my present project and do this bird by hand and machine.
+Debra McCarrell What a fantastic complement! Thank you. If you do, I would love to see. Have fun and if you need anything, just ask
Very..very..nice
Aww, thank you. Xxx
Do you have the image pattern ?
No, sorry. I believe that if you watch the first video, it will show you how to do this from a photograph.
Looks great, Amazing details, just like what would look like done by machine, Congrats.
Thank you very much
Your work is far better than a machine can do. I've heard that "compliment" before!
What is the deciding factor as how many strands of thread to be used? Kindly let me know. Thanks
Which thread use
+Luzia Raposo I am so sorry, I don't understand
+Ruth Norbury you can always use Google translate ya'know
I tried :)
+blackcat138 I made it work, thank you
+Luzia Raposo Thank you
Amazing video!!!! Inspires me 2 try it out myself Good job & thanks for sharing :)
mam, really love your work and you inspired me. May I know what type of fabric you use.
Thank you so much. This is polycotton I think, but you can use whatever you have really, cotton, calico would be good too
Alright mam. Thanks alot.
Me encanto esa puntada
Thank you to share with us your stunning works!
Hugs from Italy😊
+Carla Cianci You are very welcome, hugs from England! :)
that is so much of hard work, patience and talent.keep inspiring!
Lovely embroidery and excellent tutorial. Makes a person feel they are capable of doing this themselves. I found the music very distracting, intrusive, and irritating though. I wanted to turn the sound off but had to keep it on to hear your comments.
I agree excellent and beautiful tutorial. Music I mute then turn on the closed caption. I also hit the option and enlarge the CC.
What kind of technic of embroider is that?
SALUDOS hermoso bordado gracias por compartir
Very Adorable thanks
You are welcome
OK, thank you. I am planning to do another video like this but more slowly so hopefully that will show everything more clearly
Kord piping sikta chai

A câmera acelerada dificulta ver
You're voice is very nice to listen to :) great video

Hermoso bordado
Thank you. Xxx
Beautiful
Hermoso. Lo que asen tus manos
Super embroidery
Aww, thank you
Do you pick pattern and color from pictures or imagination?
I am afraid I don't know. Sorry about that
Muy lindo.
Thank you.
What kind of stitch are you using
Stem stitch, there is an occasional back stitch around the eye, but the feathers are all stem stitch. Xxx
Nice
Lindo amei parabéns
Are you using long and short or split stitch please...
It is stem stitch, lines of stitches following the direction of the feathers - although I may split some by mistake :)
I love this. Please let us know what fabric you use .... thankyou :)
Sorry it is too fast. I made more videos that are slower. Thanks for writing. Xxx
Nice teacher 👌
Aww, thank you.
which stich is used to make this pic
thanks, thats lovely work.
That was wonderful!😍😍😍😍
Hello, I would like to see the video slower because I can not see week how you make the stitches.Thank you
I appreciate the feedback, thank you
love the music what is it?
Why you decided to duplicate the fabric?
It adds stability to the stitches and makes them less likely to wrinkle the fabric. Thanks for the question. Xxx
very. nice
OK. MA(EN MAYA ES NO) ENGLISH...SPIKE SPANISH. I AM VICTOR ROMERO FROM MERIDA, YUCATAN MEXICO.
Superb
Hi Ruth! Thank you for this video, it is very helpful indeed. Especially for the beginners like myself. Only I have a question: what do you use to apply the sketch on a fabric, please?
+Adventurous Voyageur I am so pleased you liked it. The sketch is done with a tracing using dressmakers carbon paper, there is a video called Transferring the Design in Embroidery. Technique by Craft Jitsu that goes before this video and will explain it fully
Ruth Norbury thank you so much. I'll watch it for sure. Much inspiration for future projects and videos!
+Adventurous Voyageur I am just uploading it now, so if I have done the right dance to the internet gods, hopefully it will be up this evening....if not it might be a few days :)
Ruth Norbury I'll subscribe to make sure I won't miss on any updates, thank you :)
+Adventurous Voyageur That will be great. Thank you!
