Sequoia National Park's Giant Forest is home to five of the ten biggest trees on earth, including the General Sherman Tree, which at more than 36 feet wide at the base and a staggering 275 ft tall is an absolute titan.
But as incredible as it is to marvel at General Sherman's stature, it would be a huge mistake to pass up the opportunity to explore the more secluded and secretive giants hidden in the forest.
It's impossible to select only one trail to highlight: The Congress and Big Trees trails, as well as the trek to the summit of Moro Rock, are among the area's most popular hikes. But you'd be doing yourself a huge favor by taking a couple of days and exploring the lesser-known reaches of the Giant Forest.
Perhaps the best thing about the Giant Forest is its accessibility. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer, restricted to a wheelchair or somewhere in between, the Giant Forest has trails for you.
Stay on official trails and durable surfaces to help preserve vegetation, Do Not Climb Trees, take only pictures and leave no trace. These forests are priceless. Help preserve them for future generations.

Redwoods and Sequoias are so powerful. We must protect and preserve these majestic giants for future generations
We couldn't agree more.
Agreed!!
When people are on the scene, we humans seem so small, even the smallest power is the best power to protect them.
100%
I’m a 68 year old British man. I’ve seen these trees on television I doubt that I will ever see them in person but they are magnificent. I’m not a radical or leftie or eco warrior but WE NEED TO PROTECT THE TREES ON OUR PLANET . They are as important as water and all our natural resources. 👍👍
I've watched this a few times over the past couple of days. Brings tears. We think so much in this world is so important, but when I look at these trees I simply remember that there is something else that means more. It is humility.
so true and very well said. I hope one day to see these amazing trees.
100% True!!!
Beautifully said, I belive this just like you.
I misread that as humidity at first haha. So true!
Man…wisdom is indeed the principle thing. Truer words have never been spoken
It's amazing the trees existed even before our calenders
Agreed!

I hope I visit on day soon. Thank you for the video
Everyone who can should visit these sacred trees at least once. We hope you make it some day. When you do, be safe and leave no trace. These groves can't survive without an active effort by park visitors.
Amazing place and your composition landscape video very good. This is a piece of Heaven on the world . Thanks for your sharing video. Nice video and good job.

Wow....love from india 🇮🇳
Greetings! Thanks for watching!
Trust by trust from yours ancestor to keeping this..tree..for their great grandchildren...to see power of trusted and honesty...👍👍👍
I remember the stories of our older ones, that around 12.800 years ago in my country [Montenegro - south east Europe] trees were as tall as 250 meters, that in our forests lived scorpions which were about 1m in size, large bears, and that the level of oxygen was so dense that people were as tall as 3 to 4 meters. I can just look at this video and say that Sequoia trees are remnants of mega flora, and mega fauna, and considering the fact that they survived for so long I can only assume that these forests were on a path of giant water waves which were omitted when the fragments of a decaying comet hit the Laurentian ice cap.
Beneath this forest still lies vast amounts of water and also oxygen.
Thanks for sharing.
⛳️Yes… People, Tree, Animals were very big before and they are reducing in small sizes now.. we have examples - Man power could make Stonehenge, Pyramid… Very large and tall tree existed here.. mammoths, dinosaurs, large fishes were living here on earth..
We also learn similar in our Jain Philosophy.
Can’t thank you enough for this ❤️🙏🏼
So glad you enjoyed it! Much more to come.
@@HomeInWildSpaces Please share. Especially a longer version or another video of Sequoias. I feel a deep connection to this place. Ive been there thrice, and your video makes me want to go again.
I don't know what is more beautiful if the bears or the trees :D omg i loved it. California is such a beautiful place
Agreed. We think of it as Eden, or at least possessing all the elements of what we'd call paradise.
The back side of California's beauty is its popularity and use. It has never been more important to proactively Leave No Trace. We've lost so much in California. The time has come to restore and protect what can be restored.
Thanks so much for watching!!!
@@HomeInWildSpaces You're welcome and stay safe
Lindo video. Agradezco el respeto hacia los magníficos árboles
🌺👍 Heading this way in a couple weeks (assuming it's safe enough to do so). Can't wait to see these magnificent old sentinals. -H
Have fun! There's something so amazing about this forest. It's more than the size of the trees, there is perhaps no better place on earth to feel small and humbled by the amazing treasures available to those who choose to wander.
beautiful,.,, majestic trees... can't wait for my trip, later in the year.. the visit has been on my bucket list for decades.
Amazing place...epic...you feel like you're in the Jurassic period. Very close to Yosemite so for anyone going see this too, well worth it. Hope to go back, once is not enough!..
We definitely agree! The sequoias are amazing, were it not for another forest, they would capture our vote for the most amazing forest on earth.
Stay tuned to find out which one surpasses even the giant sequoias.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!!!
@@HomeInWildSpaces Thanks for the great videos, keep it up!

Shear and pure beauty....what is this song in the background??
I love large trees
We feel the same way.
🤩🤩🤩
Awesome! Thanks again for the upload!
Our pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it!!!!!
Stunning and beautiful, this deeply represents the mysteries of nature! I made up this saying from this video: "The Giant Trees and Creatures of Nature once walked this earth for many millenniums. Alas, the destruction and greed of Men have made many nurture more about their dark ambitions than the breath of nature".
Nice sentiment! I hate to be the Grammar Police, but your wording could due with some corrections. Sorry !
Beautiful job on the video. Makes me excited to head there later this summer for my start on the High Sierra Trail. Thanks so much for sharing!
Our pleasure! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!!
Best of luck on your trek along the High Sierra Trail! Color us jealous.
I'm amazed with this and Thankyou Dear to make a soothing video☺, Added to my bucket list!, one day surely I wanna be there with my parents and siblings🍃
We hope you make it. These trees are a gift, worthy of profound admiration and respect.
2,200 years old!
Truly amazing…….. I want to see them. Just to stand next to them would be an experience.
Im in Australia but It's one of my goals to see one of these beautiful trees in person
Beautiful!! Can someone please tell me who is the artist on this song?
It's really beautiful.
❤️❤️🥰🙏🏻
What is the beautiful song featured in this wonderful video?
Lovely video. What is the background music?
Thanks for taking us with you to the giant forest
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching and commenting!!!!
Thanks for the video! Is the giant forest trail well marked or will I need to know where to turn at intersections to stay on it?
It's a little bit of a maze. Multiple trails intersect each other. Not terribly disorienting in our opinion, but it's best to have your map from the park service handy. We wandered for hours along multiple trails and couldn't have been happier. Even missed the shuttle back to where our car was parked. Had to walk 2-3 miles in total darkness (not recommended).
Stay on the trail, study your map, and watch the time (if you need to catch the shuttle). And leave no trace. This is a sacred space deserving of respect.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!! Hope to hear from you again.
I can still remember, back in the 70's ,80s, when they still had cabins, a market, gift shop and restaurant, there in Giant forest.
Those were wonderful times. You were almost guaranteed to see bears come around every night.
Dam wish I wasn’t 4 thousand miles away would absolutely love to walk through there. Any chance you could tell me the song as I’d listen to that walking through our forests we have here some beautiful places, not as stunning as this place though! Is it me or does anyone smell the trees and the air from there!?! Or just me haha
the song is called "Song for Tom" by Maya Johanna. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Boze! Cos przepieknego!!!
Here before us, here after us.
If we are wise stewards, that will be true.
Not sure if you’ll see this is the video is a little older but I’m curious if this is all within the giant forest section of the park? Are you able to say if this is all one trail or a bunch of trails combined in the video?? I’m also jealous you saw bears I wanted to see them so bad when I was there but we didn’t. Would love to know what MONTH you were there!! I’m planning a return trip and I’m so excited I love it there so much.
Everything seen in this video is found within the Giant Forest section of Sequoia National Park. No single trail is shown because there are many trails that crisscross the Giant Forest.
We just wandered. Following many trails. We saw six bears, but only captured the footage seen here. Some of the bears were. quite close and we were focused on giving them the spaces they needed. We encourage all our viewers to do the same. Only take photos or video if you are 100 yards from bears.
This footage was captured in mid-June. Hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!! Best wishes on your trip!
Ive been to yosemite often but never sequoia park. It looks amazing. Im older now, are there trails accessible? Hiw many days needed to visit and see major accessible parts. Also, is fall ok to go? I hate mosquitoes and heat soooooo id rather be cold.
Thanks all!!
There are a number of very accessible trails including the trail to General Sherman, Grant Grove (in Kings Canyon NP) and the big trees trail.
I'd expect the heat and mosquitoes to be more manageable in fall, however, California has been having terrible fires in the fall as summer foliage dries up. I don't know that there is a perfect time, but I can't say there's a bad time either.
Hope that helps! Thanks for watching. Make sure to check out the updated video: ua-cam.com/video/mfGaXDJfbSU/v-deo.html
سكووويا هوااا 😂✌️
❤
So glad you liked the video.
Someone shared the link about this forest. I am curious, esp. when it says it's in OH. Well... gotta check the map how far it's from our town. Is there any hotels around it? Thanks for sharing! God bless!
Thanks for watching!!! I apologize, I'm not sure what "OH" refers to. As far as logging. There are a number of options both inside and outside the park(s). There are a number of communities that that border Sequoia, especially to the south, but these locations are at least 45 minutes from the Giant Forest. There are limited cabins and campgrounds within the park(s). Check with park staff or recreation.gov for additional details.
Hope that's helpful!!! Thanks again for watching and commenting!
Three Rivers, California is at the enterance to the park. You can rent many of the homes through Airbnb.
beauty of God ! ❤
Amen.
I've been to cali Hella times but I wna take my sister and dad to visit Sequoia National Park
A most worthy goal. These groves are sacred. We hope you make it. Be safe and leave no trace.

I remember that place. 1:16 Its where I saw a tree fall.
Wow! We’ve heard a few crash to the forest floor, but never have seen one fall.
I'll go here next year when I will visit my sister in California hopefully..its really beautiful ❤️🏞️🏔️🌲
Do it...you will not regret it!
We hope you make it. It's beyond incredible.

So much to see and enjoy in this world with friends and family.
However, most humans chose to be upset when someone next door cannot see or hear or walk.

Is there any mining kind of caves or maybe small caves there??

Song: Song for Tom - by Maya Johanna
i loved this video it was a aggsinment to watch from my school and it was awesome! its so real!
So glad you enjoyed it! Were you studying sequoias specifically?
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!
one day i will feel these giant trees with my bare hands..........
We hope you do, but please be gentle and abide by park regulations.
I wanna be as strong as these trees
A fantastic goal.
As someone who is highly independent, loves my own company and hates living and working in a busy capital city, that so many somehow love (London), this place is calling me. I could happily spend days walking the trails and taking in the nature, scenery and escapism. ❤
We hope you make it some day. These groves are remarkable, and if you ask us-sacred. Thanks for watching and commenting.
