Apollo TwinX good specs and it supports Thunderbolt 3 on Windows. Your parlor sounds good on the recording. You're the next Rudy Van Gelder of popular music!
Drummer/ guitar / vocals.... long time waiting... after a year of planning and design (room within a room- live room and separate control room ) I'm now building my home studio... I just picked up Apollo X4, Mac M1 and an Audient ASP 880 and some other necessary items ( mics ) ... been messing with Luna, like it and will probably use it... after I'm done hopefully 3 months... I'll then be ready for your course!.... thanks Warren for your inspiration and priceless help.
Thanks for this wonderful demo and for all you do at PLAP. I am strongly considering joining the academy. I presently mix using Studio One Pro w/an older Studio 192 Interface.
I bought the Zen Go in october and I am realt happy with it. The plugins are a bit unstable when using afx2daw in Ableton Live. I guess it’s because Ableton runs through Rosetta and the plugins are native.
I recently purchased an Antelope Orion SC Studio and added on a Focusrite Octopre to give me a total of 20 inputs for my studio. I was a happy Apogee owner and was a bit nervous making a change but I was not disappointed, the Antelope hardware sounds great and the software is easy to navigate through during a busy recording session. I could go on for days about what great value it has provided me so far. Hopefully your video will turn a couple more people on to the Antelope gear, thanks for the great video Warren!
This is the 3rd, set of multi tracks I have downloaded in the last three weeks, wow what a gift, this one was a really moving song. I haven't transferred these to the music computer yet and run them thru my Soundcraft 22 mtk, but I will. thank you, Warren

This guys voice is amazing, him and Katie Ferrara have been awesome on your channel, great singers! I think Antelope are amazing they are really pushing the boundaries and offering some great gear at all sorts of budgets, from the Zen Go to the Gigantic fully featured Galaxy 32 and it's big brother, the 64 (which has just about every connection you need!). They seem to be looking to mix in fully featured gear with high quality, which is amazing.
Enjoyed every minute of this superb video. Artists, lighting, editing, song writing, production, everything at a different level. Plus, everyone had fun. Thank you for taking two or three days, maybe more, putting this together.
@@Producelikeapro Warren, as I watched you tweak the captured audio, I realized I was watching decades of experience right here in my living room. It truly was wonderful for me.

Everything sounds great! Started with a fantastic song, and performances. Can't believe how great the emulations of the outboard gear sound. This would make it much lighter on my mobile recording gigs Just great!.
I have the Zen Go and love it. Your video shows very well, although you didn’t particularly mention it, the true stars of the interface are the preamps and the converters. 😉
@@Producelikeapro I like your approach Warren, very good tracking from you as well. I mean the track was already alive before you even began mixing. 👍🏾
I tested extensively - ended up returning the Zen Go and getting a slight upgrade (Motu UL MK5). Review on my channel. But I have to say - it is astonishingly good on most key aspects for that price. Headphone amp output impedance might be the only slight downside - I use High Impedance Cans, and they sounded a lot better than say a SSL2+ headphone amp. Detailed, great sound stage. But I digress - I really like this song and the performance. I failed to pay attention to technicalities. It happens sometimes. :) - P.S it records mic1 /2 dry if you grab channel 7/8 instead of 1/2 from the mixer.
yeah i tend to print (commit) and if i need to go back... i go back... just don't leave everything eating up the system. as for the Zen... been looking at the Go for a bit but i want to get the Q for the thunderbolt 3 connection but it would only work on my laptop. cheers
@KINIKIMUSIC ah quality, how long have you been using it and have you had any of the horror issues yet, also are you Intel or AMD? Thanks for the response 👍
@@aaronrichardson339 Hi Aaron, I have been using it for about 4-5 months. I really like it a lot, especially for mixing/mastering. Though, my computer has a Pentium. After that I've had zero issue. rock solid!!!
Great video! I am curious did you have any issues with the installation of the Zen and what operating system it was on. Thanks very much for sharing the video!
Totally off topic, but are you going to interview legends as Lustmord, Brian Eno, Massimo Magrini or Robert Rich about their mixing and sound designing approach. Their music is definitely very different from the usual in many musical and engineering aspect.
I actually own the zen go but if you have the mic modeling you quickly realize that you need more inputs. So, I had to upgrade to the zen q. I am not sure that all effects will port over to my zen q. If it doesn't then it will be disappointing. I will bet it doesn't.
Hey Warren, big fan of your channel! I wanted to upgrade my audio interface I'm confused between zen go and rme baby face Pro fs, could you help me suggest one, Also if you have any other recommendations it be highly appreciated! I want and good blend between DSP and good hardware
Please do a review of solid state logic big six 18 input mixer and interface direct with protools using outboard gear channel strips. It seems like a perfect small set up. I wonder if there is latency and using Mac / Apple.
Very, very good song, very very interesting video, as I‘m just deciding which AI to buy, a Zen Go or a Zen Q (is it worth € 300 more, with both I‘d get a free Edge Solo). Could you tell me (quickly) which one to take (don’t need ADAT). I need it primarily for recording vocals. I also have a Focusrite Scarlett. Bit the Antelope promises very little latency. Please, let me know which one you‘d take if you didn’t need ADAT). Thanx in Advance.
Which Lewitt condenser are you using on vocals here? It looks like the 540 or 640, but I can't tell. It sounds great. Edit: Looking at my 540 and 640 mic, the one in the video looks like it might be the 240?? My head hurts now.
Ok so I saw under that custom tab you had some either presets that were named overloud and stuff from other brands, can this thing run third party plugins too? Or can it really only process stuff with antelope plug ins
My experience with Antelope has been really shitty. I have had massive problems having my computer (new Dell, otherwise functioning perfectly) consistently recognize their unit. Customer service has basically been me uninstalling and reinstalling their launcher over and over again, doing nothing. Having to log in to the server (???) every day. The tech guy finally said that I should just plan on unplugging and replugging in the unit every day and hoping that it would recognize it. I've never had any of these sort of problems on any other piece of equipment before. I asked the tech guy if they were working on solving these problems and he said he didn't think they were. Finally I asked them to take the unit back because it's totally unreliable. 2 weeks ago the tech guy said they were going to RMA the unit but then I have heard nothing from them. I would absolutely not recommend anyone buying anything from them. The unit itself seems well engineered but they still absolutely suck for support. I'm hoping they will take it back so I can be done with it.
It seems like the experience is all over. People with good experiences love it, but I just got one that was unusable due to broken screen and the software is such a nightmare that it can't even find its drivers or open control panel. The da converter sounded great, but there's seemingly no consistency in quality control
