- Just in case you wondered what it sounded like to slap on a p bass with flats here is a little video I made to demonstrate. I love this bass line by "Ready" Freddie Washington. The music is a backing track I made. I posted another video of the backing track only for you to play along too!
Enjoy!
Those fellas on background (especially blackie one) add so good vibe, chilling, just complete harmony
sounds dreamy! with those cats in the background it’s like the lo-fi channel but irl
Dam, those flats are bright
Wow! Great tone!
Amazing channel man! Pure pleasure every time!
Nice bass, nice groove, nice player.
Nice bass, nice groove, nice player, & CUTE CATS!!

Good stuff Mr. Pierce!!! I'm thinking Freddie Washington was the player, with a P-Bass and flats. I can't swear to it, It's been a while. There was a cat named Robert (Pops) Popwell who played a P-Bass with flats a couple of The Crusaders albums back in the mid 70s. The one album that I really like is Those Southern Knights. There is one of two more after that one but I can't remember the titles. Before I forget, cause you got me reminiscencing about days gone by. you sound just like the original, you're damn GOOD!!! Check out this piece, it's a P with flats by Popwell but he's not Thumpin' and Pluckin', yeah I'm old and today is my Birthday!!! I'm attaching my all time Crusaders piece. The Sax player for The Crusaders is also a bass player, he played Marvin Gayes "Let's Get it On". ua-cam.com/video/cGfW5iFmCW0/v-deo.html
I hope you enjoy and the other is Free as the Wind. These albums are from 2nd half of the 70 and a little jazzy, give them a listen.
Freddie Washington used Rotosound roundwounds for that recording!
@@MadMagicPaul from hearing you I would swear they were flats. Like I said it's been a while, a long while.
As a matter of fact I wasn't into the bass that much. In late 76 or early 77 a guy from Philadelphia taught me how to play The Commodores Brick House
Magic Paul I must apologize, I didn't really focus on this player's name and got you too mixed up. He does take me back though.
Love some Patrice Rushen. She’s great
Lucky guy... My cats are terrified by the sound of bass, they always leave me alone.
READY FREDDIE WASHINGTON!! NO MORE NEED BE SAID EVER BITCHES!
That black cat is checking if you're doing it right lol
Sorry this is the tune I was thinking about. Like I said its been awhile. There's a nice finger style solo in this piece.
How old are the flats on there?
They were six months old when I made this video.
Here come the men with cats
Pretty sure you're here to show off your Olinto bass

@@Maxwell_pierce Oh i thought the were the roto 50-110

A metronome wouldn’t hurt…
Ya…he’s playing to one already and he sounds great. How about you focus on your own playing instead of wasting time degrading others.
