    I “Dry fit” a few times with the e clip off and the dust cover off so I could see if it was adjusted to tight. Adjusted Dcr rod so that it fit snug without pushing on the cylinder but the clutch pedal was all the way out. It fit in snug. Then installed dust shield and then rod, then e clip. Works great.

    Why don't you leave that metal cup in place?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Brandon! you may be able to leave it in place but since the new rod is aluminum it seems redundant (the old part was plastic so the metal cup provides wear protection). Well and I also left it out since the DCR instructions recommended to do so LOL but I suspect you maybe able to leave the old cup if u really wanted to...

    • @xounlistedxox
      @xounlistedxox 3 роки тому

      @@AlexAutoFun I installed this recently, it was just a thought since the DCR rod only presses in the middle of that plastic piece, whereas the cup would spread that load out across the entire plastic piece. There's gotta be a reason they said to leave it off I'd imagine.

      Hi BeamNGD Video! do you mean how many threads I set mine to? I can probably check but this will vary greatly from car to car, additional factors that can change the optimal length is what clutch and TOB you are running. Lastly the set length will be different if you want a lower or higher engagement (pedal height). Hope this helps and thanks for watching bud!

    Was the clips being broke a problem?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  3 роки тому

      Hi Brianna! not sure which clips you are referring to, if you are referring to the C-clips, the clip retains the push rod in place, if that clip fails, the rod could potentially pop out leaving you with the ability to push the clutch in. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

    I pulled the piston out all the way will i need a new one? Also my snap ring doesn’t sit/lock in place anymore. Clutch is super soft doesn’t feel like any pressure is there anymore does it sound like there is air in the clutch?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  4 роки тому

      Hi Rogelio, if the piston came all the way out and the fluid leaked, it is possible to re-assemble the unit, fill it with fluid and bleed it. However this may be difficult with the master still mounted in the car and bleeding an old master could lead to future leaks. If you are still running the original master it may be best to purchase a new one to make it easier and to ensure the master will not fail down the road, bleeding new parts is much safer than bleeding old ones in my experience, hope this helps and let us know what you end up finding bud!

    If i have a replacement master and the oem rod isnt in it do i have to remove the retaining clip out if the piston to install the dcr rod?

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  Рік тому

      Hi Bacoj! The DCR rod is larger in diameter than the stock rod, so the retaining cup inside your replacement master will probably not let the DCR rod sit into place completely (That being said if the replacement master has not been installed, it is much easier to remove the internal cup at this point that after the master has been installed in place). • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  2 роки тому

      Hi Eric! ah yes that infamous cup! it can be frustrating, some come off easily and some (specially on a new master cylinder) are very stubborn, tons of patience required but eventually it does come out (what I did to my flat screwdriver that I shoved in between the metal cup and cylinder is I sharpened the front like a knife, so it's super thin in the front which allows it to "cut" into the space between the cup and the cylinder eventually making enough room to fully insert it). Hi Adam!, yeah you can adjust it without having to remove it. It's easier to remove on and off once the original rod has been removed, so while I can adjust it with it on, I do find it easier to adjust off the car than to contort myself down there to adjust...
