Awesome video but judging by the press officer’s words Remco was not even feeling particularly sick because his test was a “standard rest day test” not one to check whether covid could be the cause of his struggles. My theory is that he probably wasn’t feeling 100% and he feared he wasn’t gonna win it seeing what’s ahead and that lots of riders are falling ill because the weather has been appalling
whattt i didnt expect that last part i did not know that he was out of the race, i just hope that the team will change there mind and let remco race in the TDF instead.

The owner of the infamous dog has been identified: it is the same idiot who was filming Remco immediately after the crash. He stole a canteen as well. He payed a ridiculous €50 fine. But as a team, you Soudal Quick step have the right to take some serious action against him. If these idiots don't get punished, things like this will happen more and more.

He shouldn't have given up the Giro for Covid. He should have been more carefull. He wasted an incredible work and effort. Such a shame
No way he should’ve been forced to pull out, covid has literally been declared not a national emergency
I don't think it being a national emergency or not affected their decision making.
The virus really likes the heart muscle, so doing heavy efforts while sick can be really dangerous.
lot of data regarding covid causing inflammation of the heart muscle, (One of the reasons it is believed we have seen an unusual amount of athletes suffer cardiac arrest in the last 2 years). So while it sucks, he made the right call.
