I personally always loved the freeze frames at the end of the episodes. And that same tune when there was a dramatic end made me scream with joy!!!!! 😀
Tremendous scene .JR was the greatest most conniving manipulative charismatic villain of all tv history ..love when he says I'm really a nice fellow when I get what I want
I was watching a rerun of I Dream of Jeanie the other day and Susan Howard, who's real name is Jerry Lynn Mooney, btw, had a small role as a salesgirl in a store who rang up Major Nelson, played by Larry Hangman, of course!
I binge this whole series every couple years and it's the most entertaining show of all time because of this icon...RIP Larry Hagman/JR drinking a bourbon and branch right now in salute to you
I'm binging it right now and find it's got a hold on me! Dallas was officially the first soap ever and imo the best by far. Nothing after came even close to it. One of my observations is that the most toxic and hateful women are Pam and Donna. They are both sanctimonious and both have a husband (Bobby and Ray) who can't control their temper. ...and JR is really like Donald Trump. He gets things done and they hate him for it. Also, everything - EVERYTHING is blamed on JR and Trump.
@@ricklee5845 I agree on getting things done and Trump was hated for being honest, but JR was generally a POS and I honestly don't think Trump is a POS 😂
JR was many things, but he wasn't a child molester, which is what Edgar Randolph was. People like Randolph don't get cured, so Donna and Ray had no business defending him. Now while JR had ulterior motives, as always, he would never hurt kids.
People also forget that in the first couple of seasons of Dallas, Ray used to have sex with Lucy while she was a minor. Only reason why Rey stopped was because Pam threatened to tell Jock and Bobby if he didn’t stop.
Edgar should have had Ray and Donna hide a tape recorder inside his hospital room so that whole conversation can be recorded. That would be solid proof to the authorities. Of course, then Edgar's secrets would be known.
JR was like The Godfather. He always asked nicely first. He would make it sound mutually beneficial and let you know you would have a friend in JR Ewing. If you refused him, he would find a way to make you an offer you couldn’t refuse. But instead of Luca Brasi holding a gun to your head, he would blackmail you or arrange for you to be caught in a compromising situation. He was a great character.
Being a child of the 60s and a young man in the 80s, it seemed funny to me that Larry Hagman, who played the nice, lovable Tony Nelson, could ever play a character like J.R. Ewing. Oh, man, was I wrong! He was an outstanding actor, no matter what character he played.
JR: Edgar I know how you feel but it's not going to change the way things are. Now don't make it hard on yourself. I'm really a nice fella when I get what I want. Oh and by the way don't you ever mention my name to Donna Krebbs again. Or you'll really regret that you didn't die today. U screw with JR, you pay the price.
I hated what he did to me. I'm so glad I'm not in TV Land anymore. I'm in Novel land! I kill people. They deserve it, but if I'm honest I get my kicks. All thanks to that Spencer Kissack and Without Justice We Are Shadows
Matthew McConaughey was floated as being cast as J.R. Ewing in a big budget adaptation of Dallas with Jennifer Lopez as Sue Ellen. I think Henry Cavill would be a good one for Bobby Ewing. What do you think? Let's round out a dream cast. Would Harrison Ford work as Jock? Would Meryl Streep work as Miss Ellie? What about Michael Shannon as Cliff Barnes? Share your thoughts.
Ray was so disgusted at first about what Edgar did, but at least Edgar was young when he did what he did. People forget that in the first couple of seasons of Dallas, Ray used to have sex with Lucy while she was a minor. Only reason why Ray stopped was because Pam found out and threatened to tell Jock and Bobby if he didn’t stop. What Ray did was worse than what Edgar did because Ray was a lot older when he was sleeping with Lucy, Edgar was basically just a teen.
He was simply tremendous at playing J.R. n I'm guessing he was early to mid 50s here n looked fantastic .. especially considering what a alcoholic he was
JR Ewing was very evil and wicked Man. Who love be very cruel and hurtful. He has compassion and love and mercy for himself. Jr Ewing is like a snake in the grass.
Actually, although Martin E Brooks did play Dr Rudy Wells in The Six Million Dollar Man, he wasn't the original from the pilot episode. Wells was played first by Martin Balsam (so he technically built the bionic man!) and then in Series 2 by Alan Oppenheimer who 'rebuilt' the Bionic Woman, Jaime Sommers. Brooks, as Wells, appears in the beginning of Series 3 when we see Jaime return.
Nobody else on earth could've played J.R. Ewing besides Larry Hagman🥰 What a fantastic show this was!
Or Major Nelson.
Number 1 best Tv show
Yup, the best ever
i agree, i could not imagine it.he was as good beyond good in that role
It's a series..not a show..
I personally always loved the freeze frames at the end of the episodes. And that same tune when there was a dramatic end made me scream with joy!!!!! 😀

Oh J R what a man. Cold stone heartless! I miss Dallas.

Faith, J.R. was too strong to fight.
I love the whole cast of Dallas watched all 14 season but especially j .r Ewing the man you love to hate😃

Brilliant Dallas clip. Larry was a brilliant actor and a gentleman off screen.
Back when Dallas was in Top Form! Phenomenal acting, fantastic writing. JR was just impossible not to bring viewers back week after week!

Larry Hagman was born to play J.R. Ewing. Perfect match!
You gotta love it when J.R. drops the hammer on someone.

Yes he was. Larry Hagman played very good part on Dallas tv show as JR Ewing.
JR also would not behead a horse.
JR wasn't the Godfather. He was Michael. Jock was Vito.
J.R. is my greatest TV hero!!
When he said that booze and pill act i died laughing🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
J.R. was a pure savage when he went to visit Edgar Randolph in the hospital. 😂😂😂
No way JR would ever blackmail someone. I just don't believe it.

I know jr was the villain in Dallas, but I admire him. However, in the real work don’t have the capability to play with people’s emotions.

Larry Hagman was born in 1931, so based off when this episode aired, I'd say anywhere between 49-52.
Booze & pills act!! 😂😂😂😂😂

My dream is to be JR Ewing.

See, J.R. is a nice fellow when he gets what he wants. Totally misunderstood, and a capital chap.
Ray and Donna are hypocrites

I do remember the scene when JR Ewing was in his bedroom. He was standing at the mirror with a gun. It look like JR Ewing try to commit Suicide.
