    Right out of high school i started training in 1985 . Arnold Schwarzenegger was the man and we all tried to follow his training routine . It's great to hear him talk . I'm 58 years old , still in great shape . The muscle is lean now but still there .

      Same here! I'm 45 but my dad introduced me to weight lifting and following Arnold's career when I was 10. I ended up getting into endurance sports so never got very muscular but then when I turned 40, I switched back to weight lifting and I'm still a huge fan of Arnold's all these years later. 35 sets while on steroids is a different story than 35 sets as a natural lifter. It would take you weeks to recover from 35 sets chest workout . No to mention that after 8 sets you wouldn’t maintain good form and you’d only be doing waste sets for the rest of your routine. You can’t even compare training naturally vs training on steroids, as a natural you have a limited reserve of energy and a limited reserve resources for recovery. I’ve been training naturally for 20 years, did natural bodybuilding in my 20’s so you have to be very smart when it comes to training as a natural, otherwise you actually suffer and never grow. I see tons of guys at the gym year after year and their physique never changes, despite them doing really high volume training. You go to the gym to stimulate the muscle growth mechanisms into motion, no to kill yourself. Growth happens while you’re resting and not while you’re training .

    • @IronWarrior86
      @IronWarrior86 8 днів тому +17

      Exactly, i find videos that are angled like this pretty dishonest. If you're going relay how he went from "this to this...", and by doing extreme amount of volume, then you ought to bring up steroids in your presentation. Unless this is supposed to be some kind of hero worship or an attempt to give credence to his training method.

    • @ModernTao
      @ModernTao 5 днів тому +4

      Thank you for stating this. As someone eho has trained both natural and enhanced, the fact that there’s no mention of the steroids and how you can recover so much more quickly is quite misleading. Arnold was one of a kind, had optimal genetics, and worked hard. But he had artificial help

    • @Bishopbro
      @Bishopbro 4 дні тому +1

      I dont agree , 35 sets but different types of workouts for the muscle , so 4 sets flat bench 4 sets incline, I like doing 4 sets of decline aswell that's already 12 sets . And there is dumbells all sorts of workouts , I skip dips after benching , but I can easily get 24 sets for chest alone . And I finish off with stretches for chest. Went from 60kg bench to 100 kg 10 reps in 3 months. 87kg bodyweight.

    • @ModernTao
      @ModernTao 4 дні тому +7

      @Bishopbro if you like doing that great, but it’s unnecessary for muscle growth. High intensity training (to failure training) is much more efficient. Most of us can’t and shouldn’t spend 2+ hours a day at the gym, especially those of us with families, businesses, and other hobbies

    Arnold is an icon, I still love watching his old movies. He was the inspiration for many of us to start working out and my dream was to have big chest. But I was skinny guy, and it was somewhat hard. I started doing 100 pushups per day and increased daily caloric intake by 600kcal. I also started working out three times per week at the gym and I follow meal plan on Onlymeal. In last six months, I gained 33lbs of pure muscle. So if you want proper changes on your chest, you need to start bulking.

      A lot of people call it the guillotine press. Reason it’s not seen as much more is a lot of people get shoulder/upper back pain from it and it puts the chest at more of a higher risk of tearing. I personally like it and use it but my advice don’t do it more than once a week and never go too heavy.

    You got that chest using juice. No such thing as over training on juice its how juice works. It heals you super fast. It's for the impatient ones those whom lack self love.
    Mike Menzers high intensity is for those not on juice. The natural way to get big and stays on longer this way too.
