    I ordered a red '73 Rally Sport from the factory in February '73. Didn't get it until May because of a strike in '72. Drove it year-round for fifteen years including the blizzards and salt of West Michigan. For bite in winter I used snow's at the rear and a couple sandbags in the trunk. The drivetrain was bulletproof. Replaced a rocker arm and the timing chain; that's it. At 190,000 miles and maybe to risky/rusty to hoist I sold it for a thousand dollars. Mine had the red sport side mirrors and rally wheels. It was a great car.

      Got a question iam from Georgia how you northern folk keep that salt from rusting your cars.

      @@jbone9900 With the electrocoating, immersive baths of todays auto manufacturers corrosion is not the problem it once was. My twenty year old Camry looks like new. I run it through the car wash once a month and get the underbody rinse. Also, a good polish twice a year. Simple.

      They're way overpriced (the project ones). I've never seen a market like these, it's so dumb that you can get a restored one for not even 10k more than a trashy project one, people want so much for them

    1970 Rally Sport design was the original idea for base Camaros. Very complicated sheetmetal stamping curves delayed production creating the "70 1/2 " names.

      Bob Morris yeah how many years ago I spent 4 solid years looking for mine found one that has been through a fire but it was all contained before the firewall so just happened under the hood engine is blown but it starts body work and interior is all done killer which is great for me those are the 2 I'm not good at I can rebuild and build a killer engine and mine is a 72 which is very important to me (real muscle cars are 1964-1972) I use to have a 1970 z/28 over 20 years ago my car happens to be exactly how I would make it look if I had the choice again it's a RS/Z28 tribute I got the split bumpers with only the one circle headlight the turn signal is below the bumpers z28 grill RS brake lights and turn signals with RS rims and z28 spoiler it's bad ass got a 350 bored .30 over going into it just a turbo hm350 transmission going in it til I put a 4 speed maybe 5 speed got 2 and 1/2 inch flow masters duel exhaust I'm going to weld up and looking for a killer rear end to put in it Im hoping to be burning out in it by 4th of july! Yee Ha

    I generally liked to watch the show when Edd was in it, however, watching this episode was painful. I would have preferred to see an OD transmission - 700r4 or 4l60. I have also questioned the prices that they supposedly settle for. In this case, a profit of less than $2700 over the parts cost. With 53 hours of labor, Edd must be working for free. That's a $45-50k car all day long. I hope Edd get's his own show. It's refreshing to see a mechanic just give good technical information without a lot of drama and horseplay.

    • @WoodedAcres

      Why would you have a far newer model trans on a '73 that's basically a stock car or very close to be original except for a paint job and an engine rebuild? Yeah, you can build it into something completely different, but the whole point of this car is to be stock. You don't understand that? There are no aftermarket parts on this car that we can see. It doesn't even have chrome wheels, air cleaner or whatever.
      I think he should have detailed the engine and engine compartment(which they can do cheaply at detail places for 20-40.00) and corrected any over spray. Whoever this Ozzie butt head is he doesn't seem to realize that a 350 in '73 Camaro was either 145 or 175HP. No fake they didn't have much power.

    • @craigstewart1532
      @craigstewart1532 4 роки тому +1

      @@WoodedAcres It's not going to be a concourse numbers matching car. It's going to be DD for whoever buys it. A resto-mod would be a good choice for this. A 73 Camaro is not a rare or desireable model.
