Most people know that formatting means you lose everything on the drive. Yes you can *try* to recover later, but that is not what people are looking for.

I can see them making ten times more $$$ and charge something like $10-$20 for a 1 time use ... It may be years before you run into this issue again. but just say that cost before you download it .

@Dave_007 are you kidding? how can i backup something if i can't access the drive? if people search for these videos is because the drive suddenly fails and we want to get the raw re-converted without losing data (the title of the video).
Here is a tip: raw drives can be accessed by data recovery software. Back up your data first, then format. Not the other way around. This video is misleading the average user to format his / her drive and then forcing you into using their paid software. If you formatted your drive and you did not know it would delete everything: your data can still be recovered. Just avoid trimming your ssd if it is an ssd and also try to avoid writing new data much as possible. Add a different drive and boot in to that one if you can. Or take out your drive and put it in a friend's computer and recover it from there.
@@IR-eb1gu Well first you need to understand how formatting a drive actually works. When you format a drive, it just marks all the used sectors as available so they can be replaced with new files. So it will act like they are gone forever, but they are actually not. As long as you don't write any new data to your drive, your files should still be there. How more you write, how more files you lose by overwriting the sectors that are marked as available. When you delete a regular file on windows, the exact same thing happens, it marks the sector as available and windows pretends like you got more free space, while in fact the file is still there but just waiting to be replaced. So formatting is just deleting files on a large scale. But of course, they can be recovered. If the drive you formatted is not your system drive, I highly recommend you to not write any new data to it. If it is your system drive, try to avoid updating / downloading / installing files / programs / anything that will write on your disk. If you have an alternative disk, use that as your system drive until your old drive is recovered. If not, I'd still highly recommend taking the drive out and putting it in a different computer (for example a friend's computer), and then use a drive recovery software to recover your files. but if you really can't do that, your only choice left would be to just directly install a file recovery program on the drive that needs to be recovered. Which one you use is up to you. If I were you I would avoid paid software, as they are overpriced and just a big scam in my opinion. They try to justify their price tags by calling them selves hero's for your hard drive. But I am pretty sure that there are many working free drive recovery software that works just as fine. Just google them or search them on UA-cam.

Sorry but there is nothing in video to not to loose any data in raw format disk. There should be a way to clean disk and get it back with all data inside.
Well the first command prompt option is what I used and the disk is back but 400+GB of important data and photographs dating back to 2004 are all gone. Your data can still be recovered, it's important that you don't write new data before recovering your old data, to avoid overwriting your old data with new data avoid using your drive until you got your data back. You might think everything has been deleted, but it's not. You can still get everything back. I hope this comment wasn't posted too late...
@@thesunstep Thanks. No, it's not too late and yes, I have begun recovering some of the data using an old payware copy of "Recuva". However, it's incredibly slow. The drive I'm trying to recover the data from is a mechanical HDD. It was my old "My Passport" HDD, (WD7500KMVW). It was a 750GB drive and about 85% full. I'll have to look into some new payware software that can recover the data fastert and offer better search/recover options than this old Recuva software could.
Guess what! I lost all of my data using your shady marketing methods. I now have to download recovery software. The funny thing is, I know you offer software for recovery but I'll gladly pay for someone else's recovery software. Thanks for the advice!

DUDE! WTF, first method deleted ALL the files and I needed some of my data. Don't DO IT ANYONE! If you just want to convert the drive, it does but your data is gone!
When a disk becomes raw for any reason it means the partion table/bootsector file has been corrupted, there are loads of free third party software that will seach for lost partions and will even mount each partion so it can be checked before rewriting the partion table back to what used to be and when the partion table has be rewitten the disk and all partions should be restored and accesible through the operating system you are using. Partion recovery is good, but most 3rd party partioning software have partion recovery tools built in these days.....If you follow this video your data will be destroyed. As failsafe most partioning tools have a facilty to save the partion table file to another disk so that it can be restored at a later date if the worst should happen, I've done partion recovery since windows 95 and never had a problem getting lost disk partions back. This guy clearly doesn't know what he's taking about.

Honestly, this is bad faith to sell a good program. Change the title or the content to let people know that they cannot format RAW to NTFS without losing DATA. Update: First, try to recover DATA before formating. Otherwise, you will be done for good following this guide. The video should be deleted. I just spend a full day scanning using the software but nothing. Not a single file recovered. So please think twice before you follow the given advice.

I was able to locate my unrecognized disc through disk management but it was unallocated. I followed the simple volume wizard and when done it appeared to show a RAW file type but also there appeared to be no GB of data. I remember when following the wizard there were boxes to select format or quick format and I believe I selected one ( I followed a video step by step and noticed it also selected a format option ). Now when I go into disk management the hard drive shows a RAW file type that is healthy but the capacity and free space values are the same indicating 100% free space. Did I erase all data when I formatted the disk or is it recoverable.

Hi there, thank you for your question! right-click on the unallocated space in Disk Management and select "New Simple Volume." Follow the on-screen instructions in the wizard to create a new partition and format it. You can format it as NTFS or exFAT, depending on your needs. This will allocate the unformatted space, and it should become usable.

Hi there, thank you for your question! This typically points to issues with the storage device's connection or health. Check physical connections by trying different cables or USB ports, especially if it's an external drive, and listen for unusual noises like clicking that might suggest failure. Running chkdsk /f /r X: (replacing X with the drive letter) can help detect errors. You should also check the Event Viewer logs under Windows Logs > System for more information. If the drive is a network-attached storage (NAS) device, ensure a stable network connection. Updating or reinstalling the drive's drivers via Device Manager, booting in Safe Mode, and trying again can also resolve the issue. If the problem persists, the drive may need further diagnostics to determine if it is failing.

I want take data from one laptop ssd to another laptop by changing RAW to NTFS. than again use same SSD to first laptop. will there be a any problem to run first one laptop ?
Hi there, thank you for your question! When changing the file system of an SSD from RAW to NTFS, you will need to format the drive, which erases all existing data, so it's crucial to back up any important files first. After formatting the SSD to NTFS, you can use it on another laptop without issues, as NTFS is compatible with Windows operating systems.
I Dis step 2 until the "clean disk" step, then closed CMD and went into disk management and made a new simple volume in NTFS it worked after that only.
I have a hard drive dock and typically buy brand new hard drives to back up data too!! Normally I install a hard drive (like a 3 terabyte) into my dock, initialize it, then do a quick NTFS Windows hard drive format on them!! Recently I was going through some drives sorting files WITH THIS DOCK and with the storage back up drives, when I stumbled across two 3tb hard drives, that I know are full of data, and I can see the files, BUT File Explorer, when I try to access or move the files gives me the message "The specified device does NOT exist!"!!!! Even though I can see the files, and the properties SHOWS that the drive is holding nearly 3 TBs of data (around 2.70 tbs)!! I have tried to run a scan disk in CMD, but that tells the drive letter does not exist either!!!
Hi there, thank you for your question! I would first try plugging the drive into a different port to see if that can solve the issue otherwise I would recommend trying to use SYSTEM file checker tool and the "sfc /scannow" command, or a Check disk scan using "chkdsk "drive letter": /f /r".

Hi there, thank you for your question! make sure to backup your data before attempting any repair operations. You can try running the CHKDSK command, using a different card reader or computer, formatting the SD card, or using third-party SD card repair software. If none of these steps work, the SD card may be physically damaged or faulty, and you may need to replace it.

Hi there, thank you for your question. If you formatted a partition to NTFS and are unable to find your data, it's likely that the formatting process erased the existing data on the partition. When a partition is formatted, it typically involves creating a new file system structure, and this process often includes the removal of existing data. Here are a few steps you can take to try to recover your data: 1. Stop Using the Drive: If you've just formatted the partition and realized that you lost data, it's crucial to stop using the drive immediately. Avoid writing any new data to the partition, as this could overwrite the sectors that previously held your files. 2. Use Data Recovery Software: There are various data recovery tools available that can help you recover files from a formatted partition. Examples include Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, or TestDisk. Download and install one of these tools on a different drive to avoid overwriting data on the formatted partition.

I really hope that people learn what Diskpart will do with the commands provided. Both commands will turn the file system back from RAW to NTFS, but none of the data will be mapped. The only way to get it back is to use recovery software which is why this video is in this format. It is to sell you a Wondershare product. I have yet to see a Wondershare product that is "clean"

Well the first command prompt option is what I used and the disk is back but 400+GB of important data and photographs dating back to 2004 are all gone. I didn't need to use a command prompt to format a drive. I knew how to do that but I also knew it would erase the drive's data. That's why I went to your UA-cam video because it said "...WITHOUT Losing Data". Well, I'm done here,
thanks...

Brooo.. what the hell. My partition is now formatted to NTFS.. but where's my data??
Hi there, thank you for your question. If you formatted a partition to NTFS and are unable to find your data, it's likely that the formatting process erased the existing data on the partition. When a partition is formatted, it typically involves creating a new file system structure, and this process often includes the removal of existing data.
Here are a few steps you can take to try to recover your data:
1. Stop Using the Drive:
If you've just formatted the partition and realized that you lost data, it's crucial to stop using the drive immediately. Avoid writing any new data to the partition, as this could overwrite the sectors that previously held your files.
2. Use Data Recovery Software:
There are various data recovery tools available that can help you recover files from a formatted partition. Examples include Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, or TestDisk. Download and install one of these tools on a different drive to avoid overwriting data on the formatted partition.
@@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware os already gone so how to use the third party app?you lying all the time .😡😡😡😡
