"You cannot domesticate the modern vigilante who increasingly identifies as energy expanding" Aes isn't a person, he's a resonant frequency disguised as a wordsmith
I only found him this year, I haven't stopped listening and have needed him probably more than ever. If I found his music any earlier it might have gone over my head.
The vibe I get is he doesn't wanna get to famous..think that's why he cancelled his last show and hasn't played live since..would make sense why he wouldn't be the center of music videos..just speculation
This is what lupe fiasco was talking about when he talked about aesop. This video recaps how to some everything that aesop puts out is just random exotic words (which is how the Jackson pollock paintings looked to people just random shit ) but when you look closely it’s all a masterpiece just like how if you pay attention to what he says it’s all very impressive writing. This video is perfect
Is it me or does Aes keep getting better and better. It's fuckin amazing and mind blowing at the same time! Album is freaking unbelievable. Abandoned Malls is the best track, but really hard to say
Partly because he knows what his fans want to hear. Hes making the kind of rap he clearly likes and his fans want instead of branching out doing 100 different things.
@@drb000 that graveyard line gave me a chuckle. Favorite track as of right now! Usually Aesop albums evolve for me and favorite tracks change over listens. He’s an onion.

Get out of the Car made me cry pretty hard around my first listen and got me to clean myself up and start working again. Sometimes it's something that just resonates deeply with my own life, some deep frustration or unspoken pain. Music helps the emotions flow, it's very human.

I finally figured out why the revolution will be televised. It's because Run the Jewels is gonna pay for the airtime because they figure it will help their next album's sales. It takes a different kind of taste to realize how badass Aesop Rock is. And it speaks volume that laymen like me are amazed by the bars which are simplistic by his standards.
This was by far Aes's most emotional album. A LOT of death, and his bars are fucking DENSE. Passively listening is really hard when you are trying to follow along. Also- Lyrics were uppoaded to google and rapgenius before the release of the album, so he released it, without a rhyme structure. Everything is written like a book. And thats a big mood in this album.
This. It's is dense. Feels less playful that spirit world field guide. Similar dark and spooky themes. But like the darker more serious side of the coin. More difficult to listen to. Still awesome though. Testament to Aes's talent to come out with both these albums in a year and them be so dense and thoughtful. New Mary Mallon when? Hook it to my veins...
