Well, the Donkey Kong Country 2 Epic Orchestral Medley is finally here! The original soundtrack of DKC2 was composed by the brilliant David Wise. I don't think I've ever taken this long to complete a medley before! (I've been pretty busy this year!) I think my favourite movement in this medley might be Disco Train! What is yours?
These are the tracks I included in this medley:

After all these years, I still think that DKC2 has the best soundtrack ever produced for a videogame. All the themes are still stuck into my head !
I agree
agreed. Absolutely sublime
Ocarina of Time and DKC2 are tied in my opinion. Both are amazing
I don't know if it's the best, but it's definitely top 5.
These tunes are so atmospheric.
And always will. It came straight from heaven.
This medley is 102% perfect
:') Even the extra coins?

NOBODY CLICK IT!. IT WILL BANISH YOU TO THE N ZONE.
whut? i am too stupid to get it
I just made the N Zone comment because that's the gap between dimensions in FF5 and the timestamp you gave me leads to nowhere, haha!
Maybe you wanted to say 4:59
99 is out of time range :)
I didn't know what was missing from my life until I heard this
^_^ Thanks!!
Couldn't agree more. Goosebumps, so many goosebumps. I listen to this while i drive, workout, just about anything nowadays lol.
You can say that again
Hola, mucho gusto de conocerte :D
gorgeous
The transition from Forest Interlude to Stickerbush Symphony is sublime. The way the strings soar until they reach that alarming peak does the original justice and then some. Congrats on this.
Thank you so much!
Stickerbrush Symphony is my favorite song from DKC2. I like the way the chords change.
At moments like these I actually love the internet...
no people arguing no problems, anything just ol Dk
Thank god for youtube.
That Stickerbush Symphony is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
Thanks! :'O
This is an interesting time machine...
ProtoMario im surprised this doesn't have more likes, protomario is underrated.
I see you everywhere! From Sandm. vids to Donkey Kong Country medleys. Glad I subscribed

Listening to this made me kinda emotional.
Hands down my favourite game of all time and represented such a massive part of my childhood.
I'm glad it moved you. :)
Yes...my eyes teared up at the Forest Interlude remix
This orchestral version of Forest Interlude is an absolute masterpiece. Thanks for this! (Congratulations from Brazil)
Stickerbrush Symphony is a bloody masterpiece!
It's actually "Stickerbush," not "Stickerbrush." Don't worry; I thought it was Stickerbrush until _very_ recently 😅
@@ZhangtheGreat I've never noticed that before lol
It always has been, and always will be
@@PKINGU Always was *holds cannon barrel to the back of your head*
Stickerbrush best than ever
The Stickerbush Symphony made me want to cry
It's one of my favorite songs. It makes me tear up when I hear it. I like the way the chords change. 😊
David Wise is hands down my favorite VGM composer in the entire industry. The mans a genius.
these melodies make me cry with emotion, remembering my childhood
So many memories.....Best videogame OST of all time
Mining melancholy into in a snowbound land into forest interlude into stickerbush symphony is one of the greatest auditory experiences without question. Pure masterpiece.
Thank you so much!
13:50 In a Snow Bound Land
This song is very strong, I close my eyes and I get to see myself with my ten years playing DKC2. The soundtrack of this game is a journey back in time, thank you David Wise for your work!
I do think so dud .. 😌
@@RebeccaETripp But this remix made me imagine myself as a fish submerged on a river.
In a Snow Bound Land one of the absolute best ice themes in gaming history 100% Top 5 or even Top 3
I love DK. My favorite game of all times. Including the song's that marked my childhood!!!
Forest interlude is my favorite!!DK is my life, I cannot be here without it,,,,

I'm so glad everyone feels the way I do about this music. It's more than music, it's soothing, creative, and a great credit to the game, especially Stickerbrush.

@@RebeccaETripp This is the beautiful side of social media :)
This is ridiculously good - 'In a Snow Bound Land' almost had me in floods of nostalgic man tears.
Amazing work. Just amazing.
Thank you! ^_^
holy hell that transition from web woods to stickerbush was elegant. well done.
Thanks a lot!
Forest interlude....oh god.....i cry
This is just pefect.
Thank you. ^_^
Absolutely amazing work
Thanks. ^^
Literally one of my favorite games of all time. This collection instantly takes me back to my childhood.
On another note, why aren't Dixie Kong and K. Rool playable characters in Smash Bros yet? Nintendo come on!
I see you (like in Avatar)
You'll probably know this already, but you'll be glad to know K. Rool has made it into Smash.
1/2 is fine right
@@urosasin8979 We still need Dixie though.
@@himalayansaltopus Nah, we need both of them.
Thank you for the high effort of putting this together so beautifully! It does justice to the OG. ❤️
Thanks! The game is very precious to me!
Ive been a huge fan of dkc since i was 8 and in 29 now. Cant believe how amazing this was. You got my sub
Thank you.
I love all dk's
such a timeless classic.
it is and as the others mention why doesn't this have more likes and views?
This has such a classical, yet timeless sound to it...especially "Jib Jig," which sounds exactly how music at sea should.
kannon's Klaim is my favorite. Love this feeling.
That was always my favorite as a kid.
It's a good thing the kong clan has so many amulets of water breathing
2024 and I still listen to this masterpiece
Thanks. :)
The Mining Melancholy / Kannon's Klaim is specifically great. Good on this.
Thanks! :D
Rebecca's not trippin' with this. Good stuff.
After all these years, I still think this is the greatest mix !
Ditto
Thank you! :D
Forest interlude / Web woods is so beautiful.
Thank you! I wanted that bit to be a kind of relief (along with the ice and bramble parts) after all the more hectic/active stuff. The forest was meant to really represent the "heart" of the game, being lush, floral, green and sweet.
Mi infancia reflejada en un vídeo juego :((( Donkey kong
Minha também. Muito obrigado por existir DK no mundo!
The best OST of videogame DK2 in Orchestra
Well...my life is complete now
Amazing orchestra!
The Forest Interlude section is so beautifully orchestrated, not to mention all the ambience noise added..well done!
This completed a major part of my childhood. EPIC.
Stickerbrush symphony gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes. Excellent work!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I don't know what else to say except; you deserve attention and appreciation. Thank you for being you, thank you for this outstanding piece of auditory art.
:'D Thanks!
Escuto todos os dias! De 2x p cima! Principalmente quando estou muito estressada, e agitada 👏👏 acalma minha alma
Obrigado por seu comentário. Estou tão feliz que minha música ajude!
I was listening to this music 3 years ago during the preparation of my wedding with my family. This game marked my childhood in particular with its so particular atmosphere, and, living by the sea, has a close theme.
I still listen to this music these days and my 2 and a half year old son loves it too! Can't wait to play DKC2 with him.
I'm glad that new generations are going to experience it. ^_^
This medley is awesome, I'll cry
That's absolutely fantastic and gives me such a nostalgic feeling
I'm not gonna lie, you made my eyes overflow with tears! DKC2 has truly some of the best soundtrack of any video games, and you made it even better.
Thank you so much! :D
David Wise crushed it, and you elevated his work. Disco Train has always been a staple in my library, and the others are just as good, too.
this is tooo much for my feelings,,, nostalgia strike me down ...
They are tears of strength.
Realy the best Music ever
Stickerbrush will always be my favorite theme. So much nostalgia everytime I hear it. This game is also my favorite of the three :)
ridiculously good.
Am not crying, you are crying!
i love this orchestra , thanks seriously. My favorite game of all time.
Besides from this masterful arrangement, I want to thank you for all the fanart which brings another layer of nostalgia
I'm glad you enjoyed this! :)
The algorithm has brought me back for probably the fourth time now! Just as beautiful as the first time I heard it.
Thank you so much! ^_^
Great work! This game was a huge part of my early childhood, so seeing something as well put together as this makes me happy. Thank you.
^_^ I'm really happy to hear that. So glad you enjoyed it.
This game was a huge part of my early childhood TOO.
I just keep coming back to this, What the heck!! SO addictive!!
Thanks! :O
This is fantastic. Captures the mystery and adventure of Donkey Kong Country 2's soundtrack while remembering its melancholy and grittier aspects. 10/10 I've got a new work jam.
Hey, thank you! ^_^
Thank you for taking me to my childhood
Se me puso la piel de gallina, es la mejor versión que he escuchado hasta ahora 🥰
Realmente aprecio eso. Gracias! ^_^
Beautiful medley of one of my favorite game soundtracks.
You did an amazing job with this!
I still believe this is the greatest video game soundtrack of all time.
All hail David Wise! All hail DKC2!
Thank you for this. My life is complete.
Excellent!
Gosh this is so beautiful...
Thank you. ^_^
still the best DK game
Love this!! The Forest Interlude and Stickerbrush Symphony sections are just gorgeous.
this score is phenomonal
Thanks! :'D
The nostalgia is strong in this...and I've never even touched the game!
Your transitions are as great as ever. The whole journey flows splendidly.
This may be my favorite of your medleys yet. CB
Thank you!
That's actually perfectly possible. It's a subtle and nuanced experience, but it happens to many people every day. Sometimes a person can vicariously absorb the aesthetic of something they weren't really part of and get a vivid sense of the emotional impact said thing might have had on similarly minded people. This can also happen when something is reminiscent of an era in general, enabling the mind to easily fill in the gaps. It's actually a well documented phenomenon. On a technicality, maybe it's not literal nostalgia, but "vicarious nostalgia".
It is understandable if you disagree, but there is no reason to mock others. There is no reason to give answers to someone with no questions. We are here to enjoy Rebecca's hard work. So I ask that you apologize for your rudeness and we can be friends, or otherwise go away.
That is because the game masterpieces of old had good soundtracks, with soul. You are probably relating to that. Most of the music of today's good games feel generic. For example, they awarded Doom which is pretty much your average heavy metal song (and I like heavy metal). Nowadays, with some exceptions, I can hardly make the connection between a song and a game if it's not the main theme.
You've never played the game, and yet it feels nostalgic to you, as it does to those of us who grew up with it. My friend, there's something special about that!
I listened to this imagining how great would be if they do a remake from the old games, David Wise is a great compositor and you
succeeded in absolving the essence of his soundtracks, you did great :D
Wow... Absolutely stunning work. The original soundtrack is a masterpiece and this remix definitely does it justice.
Oh, the nostalgia... It hurts... It burns...
Wow . . . This is amazing! You make stunning music! This is _so_ nostalgic! I remember playing this back in 1995! That was almost 20 years ago today! I was only about 12! I play DKC1 every year when autumn approaches, and I play DCK2 too, just before winter, because that's when I got it so long ago for the SNES! Shortly before the holidays! I remember finding everything, and it was challenging at first, but it became so enjoyable! I got really good! Memories! Thank you so much!
DKC2 is a jewel among jewels. ^_^
That was amazing, I'm speechless! Or, well, since you asked, I especially enjoyed the beginning with all the pirate-themed tracks and your transitions were very good. This is my first time listening to any of your work and I just sat through the whole 20 minutes just taking it all in without noticing the time go past. I'm definitely here to stay.
Thank you! ^_^ I"m gad you enjoyed it!
Your transition are LEGENDARY, its feels real smooth, better than DJ are rave. I dont like comparing, but Finally a mix than changes BPM ! Its fresh and variable. Very good job !
Thank you so much! :)
Thanks a million or making this!! Donkey Kong Country was I believe the first game I ever played (I was four) and I poured hundreds of hours into the three of them. I have nothing but the best memories of these games, regularly pausing the game to listen to the soundtrack in awe (I'm looking at you, Mining Melancholy, Forest Interlude, Flight of the Zinger and Stickerbrush Symphony!). To hear how someone put so much time and effort into their own versions is incredible. It's ALSO cool to see the beautiful fanart and read the nostalgic stories down here in the comments.
So an overall huge THANK YOU, Rebecca and everyone who contributed to this piece of art :D
That was really nice to read. ^_^ Thanks.
Sério incrível me lembrei da infância inteira PERFEITO❤❤❤
Obrigado!
this art is so much fun
FREAKING EPIC!!!!
DKC2 and SMW for the SNES were my introduction to video games. My grandfather and I played them together a lot and sometimes I get to missing him. During those times it makes it a bit easier to remember the good times by listening to music from those games. So thank you for giving me something to listen to ^^
When it came to the music of Donkey Kong Country 2, David Wise certainly hit it for 6 when it came to making the entire soundtrack a Pirate Island Adventure theme.
Each stage perfectly resembles the area of the world that Diddy and Dixie have to explore in their quest to save Donkey Kong from the evil King/Captain K.Rool.
Wow you're seriously talented. I use your game medleys as background house music all the time.
Woah Rebecca, I'm really stunned from how good this remix is! Truly amazing job, you got a new fan
Thanks a ton! :D
Absolutely stunning this! The DKC series is one of my favorite series and enthralled to hear you do the DKC2 soundtrack absolute justice!
Thank you. ^_^
Your mix is so underrated Rebecca!! This is epic!!!
This game just got re-released on Switch! So good!
Your renditions always make me cry, they are so beautiful. Excellent work
Man when i was kid this was my first console my parents got me, it was the DKC2 edition snes and this game was so amazing, the only thing that sucked was I lost the manual to the game when i went to wal-mart with my mom and when I got to the second world I had no idea on how to control the hot air balloon. After some many endless attempts I had to lay the game down, until emulation came, this was probably one of the first few roms that I downloaded and finally beaten the game.
Master piece!
you choosen the perfect artworks for this
Fuck, now I want another one with some of the tracks you didn't cover, because this is fucking glorious! Although slightly dissapointed about the lack of Boss Bossanova, Crocodile Cacophany, Primal Rave, and my personal favorite track, Bayou Boogie.
Well, I'm 100% going to do a standalone Bayou Boogie. It's actually one of my favorites as well. I just, for whatever reason, couldn't fit that track anywhere in this medley and keep the flow.
love how it tugs on those chords in the snowbound land section
This gave me chills.... Amazing piece of work!
Oh my goodness this is amazing! Thank you so much for making and sharing this! I'm a huge DK Country fan, and DK Country 2 is my favorite in the series! This makes me so happy! Also I'm so glad that Stickerbush Symphony was the last one! That is my favorite piece from DK Country 2! DK Country has so many great pieces!
Yes, I agree! David Wise is one of the most amazing modern composers! Thanks for your comment!
