@@onejhead You could invest in any of these places. These areas are old Columbus. Back in the 50s and 60s, the Fort Benning brought families to the area. Soldiers and others invested in South Columbus. Over the years, they been transferred to other places and moved away. Lots of available homes and as time went on, what used to be nice new neighborhoods became worn down and, in many cases, poverty took over. If they had looked a little deeper, they would have found that there were nice, respectable homes and neighborhoods in the very areas near run-down sections. Now, many years later, revitalization efforts are springing up all over the place, and investors are having fun with some of these areas. They will bring hope to the communities that dot the city! Good luck to you!
I agree with you. Columbus, like other cities, has good and bad pockets. I see she did not go to the West side (North Highland) area. A video like this can be misleading and affects others. If you grew up in Columbus you may have a positive opinion of the city. But if you moved here, the first thing you notice is how much of a dump Columbus is. There is no safe neighborhood here, except maybe for Green Island Hills where real estate is priced way out of the Middle Class. When I visited on vacation I found the city to have little to offer aside from the river walk, and the city had an overall depressing atmosphere. It seems like this city was abandoned by time, since the banks of the Chattahoochee aren't as important for industry as the once were. Downtown outside of the CSU campus was filled with abandoned buildings, rail yards, and homeless people. Your local government is responsible for maintenance of a designated number of feet from the curb. Demand that they keep your neighborhood nice just like they do for other neighborhoods. You are tax payers just like everyone else.
The video is titled COLUMBUS GEORGIA WORST HOODS, it's not about the whole town of Columbus. With that said just because a neighborhood is not fancy does not mean if full of crime. Also, you can go to an upscale shopping plaza looking good from the front, but it's run down in the back.

The strip mall stores are inexcusable. A lot of times the buildings and property are not owned by the people behind the counter. They are merely renting. Washington housing across from the Columbus Civic Center, And Ashley Station Housing they look really nice now and are new housing apartments, and the City of Columbus is continueing to pour $Millions of Dollars into South Columbus to revamp it. they also installed a round-about and put in a walking trail and new sidewalks/infrastructure and new street lights and it looks really nice. like any other city they all have there Rough spots but Columbus is improving the southside at a fastrate, don't know about other cities and what there doing. them trailers won't be in Columbus long the city is getting strict about mobile homes being in the city limits and are closing the trailer parks down and hauling them away. georgia is very strict on mobile homes being in the urban city area's this ain't no Baton Rouge lol. i live in alabama and georgia is richer and got more money than alabama so georgia can move on the projects and construction quicker to remodel these old area's. alabama/mississippi/Louisiana/West virginia are poor states. Georgia is wealthier and in about 6 years south columbus will be all new and revamped, they also have plans to put a Diamond interchange in South Columbus on Buena Vista Rd/I-185. many people say Columbus feels like a small town but it has a population of 197,235 people which is descent sized and Columbus City Limits is very large in square miles because all of Muscogee County is consolidated meaning all of Muscogee County is all Columbus City. The problems the city has start with the mentality so many of y'all demonstrate in the comments.

I’m looking to invest in Columbus. What areas should I look into and what areas should I stay away from? Thank you!
@jordanhead8388 the midtown areas & the East W if you're still interested needs picking up.
This is by no means a good, accurate, complete viewing of Columbus Ga. It's just what you have chosen to show.
We live in the North East part of town near the Pratt and Whitney plant, which is where us working-class folks are going, and even here, crime is out of control. We have break-ins, shootings, all manor of thuggery. This is a horrible city. Schools suck. Don't move here - if you're coming for work, look for property in Harris County.

When I visited on vacation I found the city to have little to offer aside from the river walk, and the city had an overall depressing atmosphere. Drive up into Dimond Springs off of Steam Mill Road... This used to be housing that was built during the Vietnam build-up and was at one time a very, very nice neighborhood. It looks like downtown Bagdad now!
The strip mall stores are inexcusable. A lot of times the buildings and property are not owned by the people behind the counter. They are merely renting. The community should file complaints with their city or county authorities and keep filing complaints until something is done. Demand that the owners maintain their property.
Then rent goes up. Which may force some of the businesses out.
@@kevinc233 These shop “owners” are not receiving the services for the rent they are paying so they should repeatedly write complaints and have news cameras showing the neglect and violations of the owners. With the right legal help these renters can fight an eviction by using the whistle blower’s act. There has to be numerous city, county, state and federal code violations.
@@bigred6815 Yeah, then the owners raise the price due to all the renovations they will have to make. In Georgia there are no rent control laws. They can charge as much as they want. If the tenants start making complaints and they are forced to make renovations, they will either raise the rent or close the building. It will depend on how much someone is willing to pay for rent. If nobody is willing to pay the rent required to pay for the renovations and still make a profit, they will just close the building.

South Columbus Georgia is actually improving they already torn down alot of the old housing apartment projects and rebuilt them all new an example is Baker Village right behind the walmart supercenter on victory drive and Booker T. Georgia is wealthier and in about 6 years south columbus will be all new and revamped, they also have plans to put a Diamond interchange in South Columbus on Buena Vista Rd/I-185. many people say Columbus feels like a small town but it has a population of 197,235 people which is descent sized and Columbus City Limits is very large in square miles because all of Muscogee County is consolidated meaning all of Muscogee County is all Columbus City. actually.. we drove thru this town ALL over.. its among the worst places in USA. we did get great support from the locals for showing their town since few youtubers have done this. Albany also shows love. we were thru there more than 30x as we lived between FL and AL.. so yeah we got a real feel for the town.. if it wasnt for military it would be a ghost town by now.
This is prejudice , I had some of the best times of my life in Columbus georgia , ypu made it your business to show the "depressing" parts between fort Benning/ industrial columbus , the production of the city is firm with longevity ,..... ( its hoods, gangs , graffiti ,everywhere).
You can call it prejudice all u want but the reality is the reality why sugar-coat it .
@@DavidDiaz-zp4hu when blacks take over Neighborhoods ? Aren't you Mexican American ?
@@DavidDiaz-zp4hu its prejudice , not reality , prejudice mindset,
@@DavidDiaz-zp4hu latino ? , Dominican ? This is not even your origin ? , when blacks take over , I live in an estate/subdirectory 80% ever house 250 grand or better, so yes this racially profile & prejudice.

I WAS STATIONED HERE COLUMBUS, GA(FORT BENNING) 1991-1994 AND RECENTLY VISITED FEBRUARY 2020 IT WAS SO RUN DOWN AND IT WAS A SHAME. I REMEMBER BAKER VILLAGE BUT IT WAS TORN DOWN WHEN VISITED FEBRUARY 2020. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
And the crime is insanely dangerous now
They have built that area up with several new apartments, a new middle school, a Walmart, etc.
@@mysticlady47 Alot of the city is so worn down 😭
This ain’t even the worst side of the south side this is where decent hard working people who don’t have help live these are the people who keep the city going the ones who don’t have a chip on their shoulder and will not ask for a handout but instead will work 100hrs a week to keep food on the table. The bad side of Columbus isn’t a street or neighborhood but instead it’s a group. It’s a group of people who don’t want to work so they steal rob kill or sell drugs in decent neighborhoods which in return make people think it’s a bad neighborhood.
ok, well in my street there is a GROUP of people with guns and if anyone comes here to steal we hog tie them for a few weeks till they beg to go to jail. So you can keep living there. I think i work 10 hours a week in alabama i got time for all my hobbies here.. so keep working. hey go get some rest you got a long work day.
WOW, thats a lot of gangs in one spot.. MS13 - GD - 12k - HOVER - CRIP - not sure what the graffiti on 7:55 was maybe CK or Florencia? anyways.. that's insane so many sets claiming that one spot. I suspect blood and rollin 20s and 60's out there as well.. incredible how a medium sized city can have all that going on.
Nobody in columbus bang MS-13, lol.
Gamo who knows.. gangs can be secretive
I heard bds and vls down here to 🤷♂️
What road is this?
not sure southside part of town
Im definitely going to check out Columbus,GA. my mom was from there😀
How about giving us a tour where you live since you go out of your way to show how bad other places are ✝️❤️✝️
We do tours along Florida Beaches all the time. Its amazing here. 🌴 see our beach drive videos
NEWSFLASH!! Columbus is not that bad!.
This video makes me angry! You are judging a book by its cover and its obvious you know nothing about Columbus. I live on the “south side” as people call it and the area i live in is not bad just because people say it is. Unless you live there you dont know. Some people cant afford to keep their home looking brand new or whatever. Doesnt make it a bad area. And do your research cuz the north side has some stuff happen to it too. The north side isnt safe just because its nicer. Dont judge before you really get to know the area and the people!
I am not judging anything go read the comments about people who left already 🤷
Every city has areas like this. You chose only to go through the south side of Columbus. Our downtown area is beautiful. We do have a lot of nice areas as well. It's sad you based our town according to one area. Columbus has a lot of beautiful southern homes. I would hope the people that the people see this can look beyond what you tried to portray in this video. Next time, you should make a more thorough one by seeing more of our city before judging it by the one part of town that you went through.
Is that the traffic center off of Fort Benning Road
This beginning just makes me sad. The gang writers here need to go to art school. That's some sorry graffiti.
the whole town is depressing really.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS its Columbia? What is their industry? The projects look exactky like the Tampa ones by Booker T Washington (where I went to 7th grade). If we didn't run fast enough at PE they said they'd close the fence. Which was a horrid thought. I got felt up at that school it was a different world.
Thinking back now the bussing people all around the city wasn't a bad thing in that now I see the difference in education and safety. Must suck being that poor and angry. Lot of anger and addiction and fences. 😪 not a fair shot. I suppose that's why its called under privileged.
@@JuniperTreeee i honestly did not like this town. yet a short d rive away is auburn.. TOTALLY different place.
@@JuniperTreeee This is MUCH more depressing than Tampa. tampa has water, beaches.. this.. umm.. nothing. lots of Latinos i expected good food.. we walked IN and than OUT of three Latino places/ TAMPA is a good town even its hoods are bearable if you remember its got water nearby i guess?
If you don't live here, you don't know which neighborhoods are good neighborhoods to live in. You're just guessing.
Worst thugs in Columbus at 11:48
I absolutely agree
Nice footage
I've lived on floyd road close to forrest rd. Some of it looks bad but isn't really all that bad
No such thing as a bad neighborhood just rough and rowdy folks.
I don't even like going to Peachtree Mall anymore. They stay being shot up there. Ridiculous.
crappy town full of violence
Jose.....are you scared to talk? are you ok?
jazzbeau507 you realize how crazy the last few weeks have been right? This is the first edited video in weeks
“THE LOTTERY” by Shirley Jackson
Maybe Columbus is doing it’s very own version of that short story... I mean just MAYBE....
Or the short film POPULATION 485. Maybe.... 😭
I've been all over Columbus GA seen all the good and all the bad
When all the industry left the city, it went downhill from there. At one time the cotton mills were thriving. And people had jobs. Then the city wanted to go High Teck. I have lived here all my life.
What happened to keep Columbus beautiful
