Oh, so many in one video...Thanks a lot for such a good comparison! Choise will be classic: - DC+DC - J+J - P+P - what a beautiful unusual tonal character!. - not PJ, but reversed J+P (P in bridge) - for cases, when it needs to get close to warwick thumb
@@ZodionComstockBassist I was thinking flipped so it's still reversed, but the B and E strings are closer to the bridge but the A string is closer to the neck. With all the pickups pushed down like that, it'd really even out the attack. Pushing the J coil closer to the neck at the bridge position always helps too
Bridge: 40DC or 40 CS Neck: 40P5. Honestly those were surprisingly the clearest of any of them. Maybe I like compression but the X series equivalents lacked the punch
I have in my hamer 40dcx and bqc 18v ,killer tones ,and Warwick rockbass streamer lx4 PJX + bqs 18v also on Wood Scorpion 6 CS 45 + bqs 18v....J and CS are idem ? Or not?
this spector always has been my dream bass
Great Job...a lot of tones...for me..the DCX in the bridge position sounds amazing..and combine with the CSX, P5X or J5X in the neck position..

The P5 and J5 pickup combo... each installed upside down. Trust me.
I think they make a classic P5 which is upside down (like a normal one in a fender)

p5 neck and 40 cs bridge is best combo!
Yes, I sat and watched all this 😂. Weird observation I prefer the non X version of most of these pickups. Except the DC - DCX is better.
The DCX is so good
@@TheBassChannel Oh, also +1 for Trivium
@@TheBassChannel Indeed it is! Much better than regular DC. DC is too scooped.

40P5 in Neck and 40J5 in Bridge is the best overall, would sound great in the mix i guess
i have in my zebrano rebop 5 in bridge position 40j coil to the bridge and in neck position 40tw in single coil mode to the neck . Emg 2 band eq.

Incredible video, I'm wondering how long it took to make it..
I think it was a 4-hour shoot. A couple few hours to edit, and a couple weeks to get all the pickups.

40DC 40DC is good enough for me lol
Classic for a reason, I suppose
40dcx and 40csx that's where's at
After 2000 hrs later still confused!

I don't like any of the X models, and I never realized how horrible the CS models are. All of them.
