Hey Chuck. It's always great seeing you out here. You're a Rockstar in your own right. Make sure to share some love with Jayme. Man that guy is a ridiculous bass player. I think I'm gonna have to take some of his lessons.
Hey man! These days I’m pretty fortunate to get to be picky with the gigs I want so I take them when I need them. Jayme is an absolute beast. I have heard nothing but positive things from his students regarding his bass program!
@@Therealchuckbailey that's good to know. I've been subscribed to the bass channel and Jayme's channel since over Covid. I really like the video you did comparing the fender basses with the Sadowsky. That was really cool. 😎🤟🎸
I ordered this bass, very excited to get my hands on it when it ships in November. The shipping to europe added a good amount to the overall cost, but should be a fun player
@@TimothyThrasher-j2x ya they do ship in November so still waiting for mine. I ordered mine during the order window in May. TBH it was totally a heart led purchase than a head purchase. The shipping added about 250€ if I remember to the overall cost. But I just really wanted it 😂🥲😂
i don't think ive ever heard flats on a stingray before this sounds awesome! I think this would make a great first bass for a student overall great sound and no frills.
There is a reason a lot of bassist go for the "1 pickup 1 knob" configuration, is the most straight to the point and usually makes you focus more on the playing aspect than in the sound one
This bass sounds and looks amazing. I missed the original ordering window, but plan to pick up a used one in the next year if people aren't marking them up.
Got mine yesterday, strings feel like semi flats to me but I could be wrong. Also the volume knob has a strange range. It goes from 20% in the off position (so its never off) to about 70% at full crank. Not sure if this is is intended or not.
Ernie Ball and Sterling are really dropping the ball by making the Joe Dart models an exclusive premium instead of an extremely accessible "student" line of basses. They would sell. like crazy, heck even I would buy one and I already own a USA Stingray
@@pCeLobster Yes, but it was limited run, and sold out almost immediately. So you'll only be able to get them second hand, and most likely a very marked up price.
@@saintlotus93 It didn't sell out at all. When it went on sale you had 30 days to order it and there were no limits on how many could be ordered so there was no way to sell out, just a time limit. And it looks like they will do it again next year.
Yo! SHURE GLXD16! The older one! I’ve taken it on hundreds of gigs and it soldiers through which is super rare not having combating frequencies on the strip 🤦🏻♂️
@@TimothyThrasher-j2xthere was a preorder during the month of May and they promised to start shipping them in November. At this point the only way to get one is wait and see if they make more next year, or try to get one used in a few months
What’s the weight on this thing? I was one of the first 500 to preorder, and cannot wait! I also have an original SB14 (the Sterling Sterling), and it’s a little hefty at just under 10lbs. I’m hoping this thing is way lighter as I’m planing to gig with it in a neo-soul/r&b group.
Different strokes… 🤷♂️ Purely asking out of curiosity, what’s so rubbish about it? I’d pick a passive, single-pickup 4 string bass with flats, over just about anything else any day…
Nice sounding bass but that soft maple body will be a mess in 12 months, no tone control ?...it's his Signature bass right enough, if it did'nt say Sterling on the headstock i would buy one & add a tone pot...that headstock would have to be sanded down...Ernie Ball destroyed real Sterling bass's sadly, they were the best Ernie Ball bass ever made but to get one now is either crazy expensive or hard to find at all...the 13" width body was sleeker & nicer than fat Stingrays...i really wanted the 1with a neck/middle single coil & their Musicman humbucker near the bridge, not to close thanfuly so they sounded close to a Stingray but with more choice ,i think they stopped making them, unless custom which is crazy priced...more than a real Stingray ?!?!...similar shape to the Joe Dart model It' was'nt a Stingray body thankfuly..nicer...sleeker.. shame, it sounds good but not with Sterling on the headatock for me...i know, but it's like playing a Squire compared to a Fender but expensive ,£2,900 for a Musicman Joe Dart, crazy you pay more buck's for less bass...at £399 in the UK the Sterling version is good but their all sold out anyway, shame, a sanded headstock & the USA Musicman water slide logo & i would use it...i think i would put a hard clear laquared finish on that soft maple body...shame their all gone, onlly the £2,900 USA models at the moment, crazy priced...good demo as always...
