It maybe cold but the beauty of the Yorkshire hills lies in their ruggedness, rolling green landscapes, and picturesque vistas. For the leak in your mattress. Inflate it fully, take it outside and run a slow stream of water all over it out of a hosepipe and you will see the bubbles where it’s leaking. This method worked for me.
Soapy water is best. Thats not the problem though. The leak is so slow that it'll be very hard to spot unless the matt is under a lot of pressure. It may have to be submerged and sat on in the bath! lol
It looked a very cosy set up and McGareth's for breakfast! Can't be bad! I hope you got home ok and the car not too sick and easily remedied!

To keep it on the down low and not be thrown out of ‘dry campsites’ here in the states (yes that’s a thing 😳) Vodka becomes ‘Russian camp juice’, Tequila ‘Mexican camp juice’ , Scotch ‘Scottish camp juice’ …. Well you get it !! 😂 …. And yes it’s 5 pm for me …. Unless I’m day drinking of course 😂

I had a puncture just like yours in my mat a couple of years ago. After trying the usual methods, without success, I put the mat in a warm shower and after soaking it down I used a cheap paintbrush to brush the stuff that kids use to blow bubbles with all over it. The hole was invisible to the eye and impossible to find any other way but I easily found it with the bubble stuff.
I used a bubble blowing liquid rather than washing up liquid because I thought it wouldn't be as harsh since it was for kids to use so would be easier on my sleep mat.
Yeah warm soapy water is what we do too. Only problem is this is a really really slow puncture so may be a bugger to find!
@@GarethZoeWildcamps Hiya, yeah mine was very slow as well. Wasn't completely flat in the morning but I was still on the ground. Tried soapy water while it was on the floor. Even tried blowing in smoke from a friends vape cigarette thing. The only thing that worked was putting it under the shower.
I tried to replicate sleeping on it for a few hours, so I think the pressure of the almost over inflated pad forcing more air out (like your body weight would) combined with heat from the near constant flow of hot-ish water made the sleeping pad softer (because your body heat would do the same thing over night) and opened up the puncture just a tiny bit wider for the air to escape.
I worked in patches until I found it, dotted it with a marker and then I did the same with the rest of the mat just to be sure. The kids bubble stuff blew up big bubbles so made it very easy to see lol.
I hope you manage to find yours and get it fixed :)

It's ok if you're climatised to it. Here in the UK however it can be anywhere between -15c & +40c. It's a pita!

Trousers were just softshell trousers (fleece lined) and the Jackets were Snugpak SJ9. Really warm jackets 👍
Is it waterproof
It's not a raincoat no, it's purpose is warmth. If you haven't heard of the layering system look it up. A poncho or thin raincoat would cover this in heavy rain. But then again, when it's well below freezing it doesn't tend to rain (this is a -10c jacket). Saying all that though the jacket is water resistant and we have stayed dry in heavy rain in these before. But long term exposure you would need to think about additional layers.

In no particular order.
Pink baileys ? as a man of proud Irish heritage i must object on behalf of my people. Its up there with salt n vinegar twiglets, or Ham and cheese cheddars.
Neither of which caught on.
The camo jackets, i've no objection. But i'd certainly never be seen wearing one.
And lastly, you guys are gonna have to get a van. They're the future of luxury travel, and every outdoor youtuber seems to be getting one.
In the Gospel according to Gary, (great book btw) it does clearly say.
A van can do everything a car can, and 937 things a car can't.
i've been driving/owning vans for over 30 years, about the only time i've been ahead of the current thing ever.
Good vid though, i said 'sleep in the car' in the first 30 seconds.
So its good to see great minds thinking alike.
Oh, and loved the cat litter toilet too. No pussy footing around.
