We are loving how things are coming together in our cabin. We are looking to come up with unique ways to make more storage in our cabin. We are considering adding storage similar to that in campers with upper shelving near the ceiling. This would also cover our wiring and water lines since they were installed later on. What do you think?

Good concept - I live in an RV fulltime down here in Florida, the overhead compartments are excellent, I use them on my main slider as my office supplies for my computer area and the other half is a dorm refrigerator, a 4' wide wire shelving and the above compartments are my pantry.
I'd see if I could find a project camper someone is tossing but still has decent cabinet work because the time it would save in building it all out, plus the hardware, etc., might actually save a bunch of time and money with "ready-to-go" compartments.
Love the updates on the powerlines, well just on it all. Laughed when Jeremy said just sit there and shoot people coming up in the shtf situation and then laughs ... we'd get along ... lol ... keep on keepin' on Folks - things are looking great!!!

With all that property, you could actually build a storage shed to carry additional supplies. Some of those deer look pretty big. You could plant deer food on your property to fatten them up. Enjoy what's left of Summer before it gets too cold.

Getting there. The overhead storage idea with the power brought in vastly improves the functionality of the cabin. A great big workshop/garage would really be nice. Everything looks really good with winter coming.
Sounds like a good price for the grid power. Solar power, water well, wood stove, good hunting on secluded property, etc. Y'all are ready! Really nice!👍

The no wiring in the cabin was affordability at the time, haha. We literally live our lives one day at a time ;)

Great progress and definitely a good idea to have power to the cabin. We spend like $45-55 a month worth of electricity, a no brainer for the convenience. Have you thought about running an inline deep well hand pump just in case. That way you could still fill up your pressure tank by hand. Just an idea in case power isn't available in any form. Overhead storage is genius. Keep up the great work *T4S*
Yes we have thought about that! Having something to pump from the well in case of no power at all would be great. We do have a spring available too in the meantime if that were to happen. :)

Our original cabin ended up being larger by 400 sq ft.

Can't wait to see the finished home. Even though you're going on the grid, my suggestion would be to not have the well hard wired. Not sure how you plan to power your home, should the power go out. Unless you plan to have the battery banks tapped into powering your home, if the power goes out, then the well can not be used in the event the power goes out. That's the problem I face with my own home in Gary Indiana USA. It's hard wired, and I have no water, if the power goes out. I do have a pressurized tank, but it limits the amount of water available without power. . My suggestion would be to have an outlet for the well, and then if the power goes out, unplug the well from the outlet, and plug it into the power strip for the battery bank. That would be my suggestion. If you still plan to hard wire the well, then I'd suggest an outside plug to plug in a gas generator to provide some power to the home. I have a family member who chose to have an outside outlet to plug in a gas generator, and power the essentials, and one of those essential, is the well pump. Like my home, and yours, the well at that person's home operates on 240V.
We are planning on having the option at the panel to run the home off a generator as well. Thanks :)

Glad the poles are in. I’m surprised that they are so inexpensive. Don’t hard wire the tankless, they are meant to be plug in units. Altering it May void your warranty and more importantly your insurance if it causes a fire. Place is coming along nicely. 👍🇨🇦

It was just done afterwards, that is the only reason really. Some of the plumbing that was done earlier is in the walls.

Very affordable ones. There are still expenses maintains a large solar system. It is much more cost effective to do it this way for our needs.

That question is way too broad to answer. Canada is HUGE and the price of land greatly varies on location, size, etc.
What will you do about sewage? Was there a septic tank already put in before you built the house, I'm confused lol
