Nothing wrong with a 9-5 job if it's something you love doing, pays well, provides good benefits and you can breathe easier that you have a constant paycheck coming in.
Glad you are doing what is best for you and able to take care of your physical and mental health. It is so important. I just retired from the 9-5 after being an employee for 40 years. The last corporate job (there 22+ years) was long hours and high stress, so I was ready to retire from the corporate life and move to something more fun for me. All the best to you!
Thanks for sharing so openly and totally valid points! Running your own business is not for the faint of heart. There are definitely seasons of life and learning to flow with those is so important.
I'm in a position where I have to go back to 9-5. How ironic. I got into self employment because I had no choice. Now, I have no choice but to get a 9-5 if that is even possible.
@@brookerobertsco I am going from running my own custom wedding dress business into corporate apparel production for a very large and well known athletic wear company:) I'm really excited for this change and also feel like I can apply all of my knowledge to this role, just like you!
Yes, that's a tough one since a lot of places uses the degree as a filter of all their applicants. I would focus on building out your portfolio in whatever it is you are talented it and showcasing/talking about it on linked. Leverage your network you've built as an entrepreneur and start telling people what you want to do next. For my current position as head of marketing for a tech startup, I literally told someone that I'd love to do marketing in edtech. A week later I had an introduction to the CEO in my inbox and two months later I was hired. You never know what can happen. Good luck! You got this.
I feel less alone now. I have been an entrepreneur for 19 years and have updated my Resume and am starting to apply to 9-5 jobs.
You’re a badass in any setting, Silvia!

Thanks for watching Patrick! So happy my openness resonates. Are you also an entrepreneur? Or considering it?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with this amount of honesty. I relate a lot !
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful. :)
I feel like this video was made for me - I am also about to step into a 9-5 after 10yrs of entrepreneurship, I think the pros far outweigh the cons!!
That’s awesome to hear! What kind of position are you going into now?

18:44 my fear about going into the job market is not having a college degree. But having a successful business I gain tons of work experience.
