    Trying to find a dirty nappy bag, like the one you show with a hook and vertical zip. The only ones I can find have horizontal zips at the top.
    What is the bag style called you show in your video or do you know the brand of the one shown?
    Feel like I’m going round in circles trying to find one.
    Thank you

    Really useful, thanks! Is there a special newborn size for fleece liners, or are they just one size? Any brand you would recommend? Thanks!

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  3 роки тому +4

      You can get newborn size (usually called size 1) but it doesn't really matter if a liner is bigger so you could always get the larger size and fold it down to begin with. I've always made my own liners by just cutting up fleece fabric (or a fleece IKEA blanket!) into rectangles. It's the most cost effective and they work really well! If you want to buy, then Bambino Mio, Little Lamb or Bells Bumz would be what I'd go for.

    Is it worth buying any cotton terries or just stick with birds eye flats? I want something I can use newborn upwards, so initially I thought a mix of Muslinz and Bright Bots terries but your suggestion of the birds eye flats is intriguing.

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  Рік тому +1

      Birdseye flats are slightly more expensive but also less bulky so it depends what your preference is ☺️

    Thank you for the video. Are all of these nappies good for the first days? I am thinking about protecting the umbilical cord, or do they just go over?

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  3 роки тому

      Yes you could use any of them for the first days. Cloth nappies should almost always sit below the belly button, so the umbilical cord will sit just above the nappy. Lots of cloth users find it easier to have an umbilical cord tie than the large clips that usually get used, since the clips are what really tend to get in the way. So it's worth buying (or making) one of those if you can!

    I have a question on the fleece liners: since fleece is synthetic, doesn't using one negate the point of using natural fiber nappies?

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  Рік тому

      Yes! So it's a balance of what you would prefer and what you find works best for your baby. I usually don't use liners in newborn nappies but some people prefer to add a fleece liner for the stay-dry effect. You can also sometimes find wool liners which will be stay-dry and are also natural, but they are expensive and can be difficult to get hold of

    So random question because I was planning on getting Close Parent: Do/could the covers work with fitteds/prefolds? Or could they be boosted with a lay-in booster?

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  Рік тому

      The newborn close parent wraps are quite small but will probably work over certain brands of fitted that are smaller (like Anavy or Puppi for example). They can be used with prefolds or as you say you could just lay in another kind of insert 😊

    Do you put the nappies in the wet bag into the washing machine whilst they're still in the wet bag?

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  Рік тому +1

      I usually tip them out of the wet bag into the machine and then put the bag into the machine as well ☺️

    Hi - I’m planning to use cloth from birth when my baby arrives. How do you recommend dealing with meconium? I heard it can be difficult to wash out.

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  2 роки тому

      Actually it's no worse than normal newborn poo, you shouldn't have any issues 😊

    Hi! I wanted to ask if all newborn poop is water soluble, so also poop from formula fed babies or only breastfed babies. Thank you for the video!

    • @aboderie
      @aboderie  3 роки тому +1

      Yep formula fed poo can go straight in the wash too. Sometimes formula fed babies are more prone to constipation, in which case I'd pop in the toilet, but otherwise you're fine ❤️
