I know it's impractical in the current landscape, and how EZA is as a company right now, but I just want to voice my support for the classic GT/EZA review format. I hope we get as many of these as you can feasibly make. Definitely going to pick this game up after finishing a few mammoth RPG's I'm currently playing.
I miss Easy Allies reviews. Seems like with a smaller group of Allies we'll only be getting reviews a few times a month at most. It's nonetheless lovely that they've reviewed a game that's representative of a different culture though. Seeing more reviews from indies would certainly be ideal, especially if they're smaller and less time-consuming.
Games like this are exactly why the the 90s and 2000s, as well as 2010-2011, of gaming will never be topped. Back then, games were about being punk rock and cool with style. Nowadays, a lot of games have to be either, impactful, believable or relatable as in they HAVE to reflect real world issues no matter what.
@@fantoniumnitrous Yes, games these days are too political and relying on emotional storytelling. At least Nintendo haven't forgotten about what games are meant to be.
For some weird reason I thought this was some kind of 3D platformer. So it's a more traditional sidescrolling Metroidvania-style game? Nice. We're really seeing a renaissance of these. The grapple in particular looks a lot like the Ori one, which is always very nice. Between that and the chases, it seems like these devs took strong inspiration from those games, but built something with more flexible combat and a very unique story and world. Looks like I won't have any reason to regret this purchase at all. Always love to support a good indie breakout!
I'm so glad this exist and that they did a commendable job from this review and others I've seen; I also cant help but give an exhausted sigh at the no- doubt incoming, unearned and unabated bashing this is gonna get from the "everything's gone woke" mob...who cant define what that ACTUALLY MEANS CONSISTENTLY (don't bother posten em either I don't have comments activated and some good Samaritan will prob just flag them lol) and that they're the ones making it political. Tangent aside... The games getting a nice bit of praise so far from what I've seen and really does remind me of those old skool platformers That I used to play. Also, and this is just my own fun train of thought, every time I see another cultures deities I cant help but think "holy crap there's a new candidate for God of war boss!!" No higher praise than having your chosen deity to go up against the God of War himself! Also very refreshing to see an EZA review pop up! @@Arnell_Mediocrity_Long i like when little mysteries are left in areas.. going back is fun... if it can be done 100% and then leave.. i wanted the game less... still looks fun. but i also dont like combat based metroidvanias.. played through most of F.I.S.T.. then finally got bored of always fighting... i liked Hollow Knght and Blasphemous,, and Ori..
@@iskthedijify I don't like CONTINUOUS backtracking...like once or twice is cool...but having to backtrack 5 or so times to the same areas isn't my personal idea of fun. @@iskthedijify Little mysteries are cool and all but if there are MULTIPLE mysteries in MULTIPLE areas and I have to come back to those same areas MULTIPLE times...then yeah, it starts to become a chore for me. So hearing that this game's areas can be 💯% completed the first time is a breath of fresh air. I like when a game does something different and this is one of the very first times I've heard of a Metrovania that has little to no continuous backtracking...and sure, that will turn a lot of people off, but that's a turn on for me because that's different than the Metrovania games I've played in the past, so I welcome not having to continuously backtrack to the same areas multiple times.
We put up an announcement video late last year, but we're essentially in a part time structure now. There is a question I have to ask, this is not for me since I will support this game by getting it over prince of persia but I have to ask when playing the game was there any "woke" agendas in the game? This is for the people that are on the fence about the game since people are sceptical about the game. You can even go as far as to pin you response in the comment section to prove either it has or hasn't.

glad to see more videos from you.. i was very sad about your announcement that you will make less videos.. you always make a high quality analysis.
I love EZA reviews, really glad you guys are still doing them even though you're scaling things down. I'm here till the end.
The review score is about what i expected from the demo but this review sounded more like a 8/9.
Looks really cool! I love that Metroidvania is continuing to prove such a wonderful template for all variety of stories to be told.
very happy the game is not huge on exploration, I hate when metroidvanias have endless zones and you have to backtrack so manu times to unlock paths
But that's the whole point of the genre's structure....
This is why I don't play metroidvanias
Some end up being a little too big, but backtracking to old areas and unlocking new secrets or paths is really core to the genre.
I get your point, some are too big and aren’t fun to backtrack through
You mean a core gameplay feature of a Metroidvania. I think that's not the genre for you then.

Not sure I would call it a renaissance at this point. We get so many notable ones every year now.
@@Ayoul It's kind of like boomer shooters. Wasn't nearly this big a couple years ago.
Looks cool but also looks pretty difficult. Thanks for the review, I will support this game
I feel like Metroidvanias always look a bit more difficult than they actually are. For me things end up clicking and flowing together pretty quickly
It's not as difficult as Prince of Persia, there's a couple of tricky platforming sections but the combat is really easy.

"Woke" is just how they say the N-word with the hard R. No need to take it seriously.
The game was consulted by Sweet Baby Inc. though so that's a hard pass.
