The impact driver isn't holding a bit right out of the box. I'm not sure I can hold that against the brand because it could just be a one off thing. But I'm pretty sure I'm installing the bit the right way. I have the trigger in the middle, battery out and I'm pulling the coupler forward, inserting the bit until it's all the way in and then letting the coupler ease back. The bit still just falls out or I'm able to pull it out with barely a tug. But thanks for the video. It was nicely informative.
you are welcome and when you put a bit in the impact you might need to adjust the collit. pull it towards the front of the tool while you push the bit in. it should lock it in place

I drove the same lag bolts... actually longer.... with my Milwaukee M 12 impact end it sunk them completely in less time.... in fact it countersunk them into the wood.... and these are supposed to be 20 V tools?
Milwaukee is in a different in tti tool range this is the bottom bracket along with Ryobi but it got the job done I'm an average guy I'm not going to sit there and be a fanboy of any tool line if the two works I'm happy with it and I respect your video and what you do thank you for sharing keep doing what you're doing
I mean it's a great platform to test and prototype solutions. It's easy money for TTI and they have all these other platforms to test under easier load applications to try new ideas without pissing off professionals with have baked solutions to every day problems.
Do remember the M12 and the Skil Brushless are the two most powerful 12v impacts out there - by a ridiculous margin. And at almost 1,700 in.lbs they're far more than these basic 20v impacts are even rated for. Remember the price difference here as well.
Hart lost any interest I may have had, the 2nd time that drill driver stopped and you had to pull the battery and put it back on. Thought about getting a set of these just for friends/relatives who show up to barrow a drill etc, but I'll stick to my Dewalt and Milwaukee. Nice video though and keep up the reviews!
It's just a lighter duty tool for lighter duty jobs. Thinking it should be capable of the same jobs as a tool costing twice as much? Of course not, if there were no trade offs then the expensive brands wouldn't exist. The key thing here is that all brands should cut off if you push them too hard. That is not a sign of a tool problem, rather one of a user expectation problem. 2nd key thing is, it saved the tool rather than self destructing. This grade of drill is great for driving screws and other small to small-medium fasteners because it has a clutch. That even makes it superior to an impact driver w/o clutch for these SMALL fasteners. Many people get that backwards and think they should have 200 ft lbs of impact without a clutch on a small screw and try to drive it as fast as possible, wrecking the screw or bit eventually. Do it once and those seconds shaved off the work time disappear.
I will always trust my DeWalt, Makita, and big bad Bosch tools before any of this, but a cheapo set to throw and leave in the cabin while you're away ain't so bad Also recently discovered Ridgid has lifetime warranty :o
People mistake impact driver and impact gun.... impact driver is for longer screws and some lag bolts.... impact gun is basically for removing Lugnuts or something that requires higher amounts of torque
that is an impact wrench. an impact wrench has for torque in reverse than in forward gear as an impact driver has more torque in forward gear than in reverse.
Perfect for the home owner who occasionally runs a few bolts in. For us who find ourselves running lags every day or using the crap out of our tools, Milwaukee and dewalt are the go to
I do large sign installs and I use Hart daily. Hammer drill on par with my Milwaukee. Harts is brushless though but surprised how well they work in the field
This is funny. I just walked into the Wallymart last night, and noticed heavy Hart presence and B&D stuff on clearance. The lady noticed the 4-tool set(drill, impact, recip, light)on the shelf for 169. Well just 3 days ago, i bought the Kobalt 4-tool set containing the same arrangement of tools for a good bit more money so she naturally pointed it out. She quickly understood when i walked her over to the display area and handed her a couple of the Hart units. Seems to me they are pretty much copying Harbor Freight's strategy. Crappy tool for super cheap, okay tool for a little more money but still super cheap.
@@ManCaverTools yeah i missed that but frankly im fine with it because the original plan was to piece my Kobalt lineup together little by little over time.
My concern is longevity. Function out of the box is nice, but if the motor burns out or the switch goes bad after 3 months of use, it wasn't money very well spent. It will be interesting to see follow up videos made by people who actually use these.
Is it me or maybe the displays, but the trigger and buttons on all of them felt really cheap and almost throw away pastic... I was really disappointed. Just bc the price they are at.. did you see that?
I bought the Hart impact because it could supposedly break a lug off cars and it wouldn't do anything on my little Pontiac lugs that were torqued to 80lbs ft. Save your money and buy something better if you want to remove lugs from a car.
@@temping-sama definitely a stronger 1/2 inch impact driver preferably something brushless. You get what you pay for so keep that in mind. Make sure you purchase sockets rated for impact drivers too otherwise you'll have a very bad time.
People are already calling them Fart tools. Children lol. You got to insulate that shop, Bro. R13 for 2x4 walls is on sale at Lowes for 15 bucks a roll.
Thanks, I've been considering getting g the set with these and the reciprocating saw. Light duty DIY stuff is all i need them for, the price is reasonable, and they seem to do way more that I'll be needing....that 1 1/8 hole was suprising. And I doubt ill ever need to drive 1/2" lag bolts into undrilled tree stumps lol
The reason why they're white is because every other color for tools is taken, white is the only color left for a tool company to use. Makita does use white but that's just their small compact tools.
Thanks for the video! I'm trying to look out for a buddy who wants a good DIY tool set. Looking for quality-to-price. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of your vids
It's not bad I still like the beuer line I have both of those drills and I had them for over a year and never had issues I definitely looking forward to the 8 amp battery they're coming out with for the beuer
I give up. My high end Makita went south on me for no reason, then they wouldn't honor the warranty, then my brand new Milwaukee blew out a bearing during its second use, and I wasn't even putting it under that much of a load. For now on I'm buying cheap stuff like Ryobi or maybe this Hart line. Quality tools are just a thing of the past I guess.
Yes white is a mistake for tools... but neon green is a bigger mistake, makes ryobi tools look more like toys. Not a hater though im glad ryobi is around, i have the corded jigsaw and its never let me down.
2 tools 2 bats and a charger for $100 it's hard to go wrong. If the drill lived it's life on speed 1 and the driller actually let the flutes clean themselves out instead of laying down on it you wouldn't have any problems there. The impact is what it is but if you're not doing lags or timberlocks you're in business. I'm lucky to justify owning top of the line tools because I'm a professional but as a DIYer I'd still go Ryobi because the line encompasses so many more tools.
People mistake impact drivers and impact guns.... impact drivers are basically for longer screws and lag bolts.... impact guns are geared more towards Lugnuts on cars and things that require higher amounts of torque
And with both an impact driver and impact wrench it depends on the torque numbers on what you'll get out of the tool plus the battery that's what it boils down to and yes you're correct
I had a white Makita kit in 2008 it was my first lithium-ion kit for work Everything died in the kit except the flashlight I sold and charger and yes they get dirty it is what it they're okay for DIY Hart brand it's like tacklife tools is diy and Ryobi also is targeted towards DIY but they're not crap as well as Ridgid even though Ridgid is now pro consumer range I tried out that hyper tough 18 v Nicad drill 4 poops and giggles such trash thank God it was under a $20 so you know this heart brand is not trash completely cuz it's ttI really nothing they put out is trash or Ryobi would be complete trash and it's not I own a few with a blue colored Ryobi I had some tools prior to my Makita kit as well as a lot of DeWalt old 14.4v Nicad and 18 v Nicad tools I used to work in construction so dewalt was a giving back then Milwaukee was on the jobsite so was Makita but I can definitely see people buying Hart I used to have a hart hammer before tti bought them out
It bothers me when people say that Ridgid is a "prosumer" brand. My 1st ever construction job was as a laborer for the power company. We used all Ridgid pipe wrenches, our cut off saw was Ridgid and the huge job box where we kept everything was Ridgid. Nothing DIY about that
It’s a safety feature so you don’t destroy the drills internal mechanisms. Also, I bet the drill bit you used for the 1” hole wasn’t as sharp as the 1-1/8”
Looking forward to the comparison videos. I may have missed it, what Milwaukee do you have? The Hart brushless drill kit (w/ 2.0Ah battery and charger) goes for $94 at my local WM. I picked up the Ridgid Octane Hammer Drill w/ 3.0 Octane battery and charger brand new with full warranty for $80 at my local HD. Granted that was 50% off the list price, but shop around and you can find great deals.
Hart tool appear to be for the occasional DIY project, not for those that use their tools to make a living. Milwaukee M18 Fuel, or Dewalt XR, both brushless, are true professional tools. Stay away from Dewalt's new Atomic line, they really dropped the ball.
Heres my question, Will that impact diver take off and put on lugs on a car or 1/2 ton truck with No rust on them? Thats a test Id like to see. Thank You for your time and vids.
Dam...Ive seen enough. Its a hard pass for me on these Hart items. It would be wiser to spend a few extra doll hairs for dewalt, makita, mikwaukee, ryobi or rigid, metabo, and bosch. Heck Id even get a kobalt or craftsman over this Hart . Thats just me.
People sitting around watching youtube videos and pretending that a few seconds difference drilling or driving matters. Priceless. By the way you are completely wrong about driving large fasteners. That is not what you choose the SMALLEST 1/4" drive impact for. You get a 3/8" or better, or use a 3/8" or better impact wrench if you have a socket rather than a screw bit. I can't believe so many people are foolish enough to not understand it is the wrong tool for the job if you need an adapter and there's a more robust tool that doesn't need an adapter. It's a bit like testing which pocket knife is better at chopping firewood because you refuse to get an axe.
@@ManCaverTools In other words, irrational and probably incompetent. However you are falsely assuming that faster translates into best. This is often NOT the case. Trying ot push output at the expense of heat or stress on the drivetrain is often not the best design. Broken tools work infinitely slower than working tools.
..whether it is a crappy tool, or isn't a crappy tool, is less of an issue than the fact it is sold at Walmart..if you have a problem with a tool, Home Depot, Lowe's, Sears, or even Harbor Freight will take care of you...Walmart will NOT..I guarantee it..if they were, say, 50% less than a Ryobi or Kobalt, I might take a chance on them..but at their price point, forget it....do NOT buy power tools at Walmart..and if you buy hand tools there, forget about getting them warrantied....do yourself a favor and just get a Ryobi, Kobalt, Hitachi, even a Crapsman instead..you'll be glad you did...

How do these tools feel in hand? What is their build quality like? I am new to the tool world and am in the process of upgrading my Black & Decker to Ryobi and I can feel the build quality between those two. Love the channel, BTW
To be fair you didn’t use the 1” and the 1 ⅛” bits the same. You didn’t let up any on the 1” bit and the drill stopped but on the 1 ⅛” bit you used it properly and let up a couple times to clear the shavings. So the test, in my humble opinion, aren’t the same. Any drill bit used needs to be pulled back from time to time to clear shavings. If you just go for it non stop just isn’t good for any tool to put that much unnecessary stress on them. If you’re gong to test apples to apples you need to use apples...lol
Dude, new tool, new bit. You can't use worn out bits for comparison that have already been used to test multiple tools. The bit fails before the tool will!

that is what these were priced out at, designed for the home owner, but that doesn't make this a bad tool. and I thank you for viewing sir
I've been using hart since they came out and I have used every kind of power tool out there I've been in the construction industry for more than 20 year and union for the last 8 and I use my power tools for all my work outside work and I love them their vacuum will put Shop-Vac to shame
do you have a chart on those tests between the milwaukee, dewalt, ryobi, rigid and hart? and hyper tough...
I do not, I should do that, it would be nice to have it in the background as well
Considering they are marketed for the DIY person and along with the price point I've seen they are not bad!
I agree and I thank you Erik
Perfecr tools for a DIY person. Ryobi man is an ass clown.
I drove the same lag bolts... actually longer.... with my Milwaukee M 12 impact end it sunk them completely in less time.... in fact it countersunk them into the wood.... and these are supposed to be 20 V tools?
yes they are.
I died laughing when I saw the tiny hair dryer....
very good and thank you for viewing
Hart lost any interest I may have had, the 2nd time that drill driver stopped and you had to pull the battery and put it back on. Thought about getting a set of these just for friends/relatives who show up to barrow a drill etc, but I'll stick to my Dewalt and Milwaukee.
Nice video though and keep up the reviews!
im not a fan of hart either
It's some reject line problay just horder freight redraned
That’s good idea..never would of thought it till you posted it..buy cheap tools like air or corded impact extra...
Thanks 👊🏻👊🏻🍻
not bad for the price. seems like good homeowner stuff
that is correct, and I thank you sir :)
I will always trust my DeWalt, Makita, and big bad Bosch tools before any of this, but a cheapo set to throw and leave in the cabin while you're away ain't so bad
Also recently discovered Ridgid has lifetime warranty :o
I agree lol
You need the Brushless ones from Hart bigger difference
Just got me the 5 piece set on clearance for $99!👍🏼
I am a woodworker, white is fine, if you are a mechanic then no color is good
People mistake impact driver and impact gun.... impact driver is for longer screws and some lag bolts.... impact gun is basically for removing Lugnuts or something that requires higher amounts of torque
that is an impact wrench. an impact wrench has for torque in reverse than in forward gear as an impact driver has more torque in forward gear than in reverse.
Awesome review 👍
Love the videos keepem coming
I thank you for viewing Nate
Were these brushed or brushless?
they are brushed
Perfect for the home owner who occasionally runs a few bolts in. For us who find ourselves running lags every day or using the crap out of our tools, Milwaukee and dewalt are the go to
thank you sir, and Happy Holidays
Ryobi Man Caver you as well!
I got the kobalt brushless 6 piece tool set for $200, gotta take deals while they are here
@@ManCaverTools yeah i missed that but frankly im fine with it because the original plan was to piece my Kobalt lineup together little by little over time.
My concern is longevity. Function out of the box is nice, but if the motor burns out or the switch goes bad after 3 months of use, it wasn't money very well spent. It will be interesting to see follow up videos made by people who actually use these.
long term use, I think they won't last long if you use them every day for a while
Almost a year daily with brushless impact, drill and hammer drill, I upgraded to the larger battery other than that no problems.
Is it me or maybe the displays, but the trigger and buttons on all of them felt really cheap and almost throw away pastic... I was really disappointed. Just bc the price they are at.. did you see that?
but these tools are designed for the DIYer, so I think they will be successful in that department
Is it wise to keep an impact drill in the car, to remove the lug nuts, incase of an emergency? And would the Hart be a good choice for that?
yes it is. it will make changing out a tire on the side of the road a walk in the park
A 1/4 inch impact does not have the power to remove lug nuts.
I bought the Hart impact because it could supposedly break a lug off cars and it wouldn't do anything on my little Pontiac lugs that were torqued to 80lbs ft. Save your money and buy something better if you want to remove lugs from a car.
@@poke2748 what do you suggest for lug nuts?
@@temping-sama definitely a stronger 1/2 inch impact driver preferably something brushless. You get what you pay for so keep that in mind. Make sure you purchase sockets rated for impact drivers too otherwise you'll have a very bad time.
When they are fresh out of the box they lock up under use sometimes, but later on they work much better which caused the issues with the first hole.
People are already calling them Fart tools. Children lol. You got to insulate that shop, Bro. R13 for 2x4 walls is on sale at Lowes for 15 bucks a roll.
I do, future plans.
Very scientific testing
I thank you for viewing Helmet
Thanks, I've been considering getting g the set with these and the reciprocating saw. Light duty DIY stuff is all i need them for, the price is reasonable, and they seem to do way more that I'll be needing....that 1 1/8 hole was suprising. And I doubt ill ever need to drive 1/2" lag bolts into undrilled tree stumps lol
if you can get the brushless versions. they are way better and will last a lot longer
The reason why they're white is because every other color for tools is taken, white is the only color left for a tool company to use. Makita does use white but that's just their small compact tools.
very good and thank you for viewing
Why not so the brushless hart impacts?
I uploaded the brushless hart drill a few days ago
Will the batteries from the hyper tuff tools fit these hart tools?
I will find that out and thank you
@@ManCaverTools cool thanks
Looks like the black an decker battery would
Thanks for the video! I'm trying to look out for a buddy who wants a good DIY tool set. Looking for quality-to-price. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of your vids
I thank you sir and I am glad I can help
You were checking out the tools, be honest!
Impact driver do fine for small bolts in auto repair that’s bout all I’d use it for 1/4 sockets to make quick work of them
yes they do. I like to do extreme tests
I usually predrill for that long of a lag bolt. It’s easier on any tool. But I understand it’s for a test.
By the way I love your videos dude.... keep them coming!!!👍🏻
Thank you sir :)
Look at the charger closely before you buy no spokes person just dont want people to waste their money..
thank you sir
It's not bad I still like the beuer line I have both of those drills and I had them for over a year and never had issues I definitely looking forward to the 8 amp battery they're coming out with for the beuer
very good and thank you
dude i have bauer and for the price and power they have. i choose bauer over ryobi.
Quality tools are just a thing of the past I guess.
sometimes the cheaper solution is the better one.
Go Porter Cable, only ones i use and decently priced too
@@scottsgamingtv7168 Hey thanks for that tip, I'll give them a try.
Yes white is a mistake for tools... but neon green is a bigger mistake, makes ryobi tools look more like toys. Not a hater though im glad ryobi is around, i have the corded jigsaw and its never let me down.
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving
I can always find my Ryobi tools ...at home and at work....green works for me
Works for Blippi too, hahaha!!!😂 ua-cam.com/video/q7ntpU-egbE/v-deo.html
That a nice looking impact wrench, ya dope
Big Daddy Throckmorton thank you so much for viewing sir
Thanks for testing them I know there a Walmart brand I was kind of iffy if they'll be worth the money
I think they are for a DIYER. and you are welcome
At home for handy dys but not for construction use everyday no..
People mistake impact drivers and impact guns.... impact drivers are basically for longer screws and lag bolts.... impact guns are geared more towards Lugnuts on cars and things that require higher amounts of torque
yes they do
And with both an impact driver and impact wrench it depends on the torque numbers on what you'll get out of the tool plus the battery that's what it boils down to and yes you're correct
I had a white Makita kit in 2008 it was my first lithium-ion kit for work Everything died in the kit except the flashlight I sold and charger and yes they get dirty it is what it they're okay for DIY Hart brand it's like tacklife tools is diy and Ryobi also is targeted towards DIY but they're not crap as well as Ridgid even though Ridgid is now pro consumer range I tried out that hyper tough 18 v Nicad drill 4 poops and giggles such trash thank God it was under a $20 so you know this heart brand is not trash completely cuz it's ttI really nothing they put out is trash or Ryobi would be complete trash and it's not I own a few with a blue colored Ryobi I had some tools prior to my Makita kit as well as a lot of DeWalt old 14.4v Nicad and 18 v Nicad tools I used to work in construction so dewalt was a giving back then Milwaukee was on the jobsite so was Makita but I can definitely see people buying Hart I used to have a hart hammer before tti bought them out
other tools are on their way so stay tuned and thank you
It bothers me when people say that Ridgid is a "prosumer" brand. My 1st ever construction job was as a laborer for the power company. We used all Ridgid pipe wrenches, our cut off saw was Ridgid and the huge job box where we kept everything was Ridgid. Nothing DIY about that
What it do the 6 inch lag on a full battery just wondering
thank you sir, and Happy Holidays
I will continue to view, I subscribed and I am impressed with your Ryobi cave
I thank you Liston :)
It’s a safety feature so you don’t destroy the drills internal mechanisms. Also, I bet the drill bit you used for the 1” hole wasn’t as sharp as the 1-1/8”
the spade but was bent I think, I got all new spade bits since this video and thank you for viewing
Tbh I never use my impact driver for lag I used my 1/2" impact wrench
You should, because they are able to do the job
Looking forward to the comparison videos. I may have missed it, what Milwaukee do you have?
The Hart brushless drill kit (w/ 2.0Ah battery and charger) goes for $94 at my local WM. I picked up the Ridgid Octane Hammer Drill w/ 3.0 Octane battery and charger brand new with full warranty for $80 at my local HD. Granted that was 50% off the list price, but shop around and you can find great deals.
uploading one soon
Hart tool appear to be for the occasional DIY project, not for those that use their tools to make a living. Milwaukee M18 Fuel, or Dewalt XR, both brushless, are true professional tools. Stay away from Dewalt's new Atomic line, they really dropped the ball.
that is correct, I really love the Milwaukee M12 line
Does that little ryobi heater work ok in a 1 car garage
Yes it does. Im not in the garage for too long sometimes. so it doesn't heat up, sometimes im in there for 6 hours sometimes im in there for 30 min
Hart WILL be a ryobi killer. Mark my word
Heres my question, Will that impact diver take off and put on lugs on a car or 1/2 ton truck with No rust on them? Thats a test Id like to see.
Thank You for your time and vids.
More tests coming soon
It's only a 1/4 impact driver. You need a 1/2 impact wrench for that and the Hart website says they have one coming.
I know it’s a included battery but i would be willing to bet the 4Ah battery will give em
More performance.
I have more videos of Hart and yes the 4ah battery is a powerful one
I’m going to stay with what I know works home use or commercial dewalt is the Best
Thank you very much and I agree
Yes, Dewalt is the best!
Except it's not 😂
@@Zachariahfml might just be for price and vs usability
I like the color
I like the color as well, I just wish they put a clear coat on them
Man this guy must love ryobi
This video is very old
Do you like Ryobi?
I Love a lot of tools that Ryobi makes.
I'm guessing that the motors overheat a little too quick with these
im guessing the same thing, im pretty sure the brushless model will run cooler
Most would pre drill the holes ,so it’s not bad for this drill
but it makes a good test to no pre drill
Dam...Ive seen enough. Its a hard pass for me on these Hart items. It would be wiser to spend a few extra doll hairs for dewalt, makita, mikwaukee, ryobi or rigid, metabo, and bosch. Heck Id even get a kobalt or craftsman over this Hart . Thats just me.
thank you sir
The kobalt will kick the ryobi, Hercules ass for the same price
White sunglasses are way more of an issue than white tools!
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving
Think I'll just stick with my makitas after seeing that first test
Id stick with makita as well
OMG did you see the wobble on that chuck ???
I had a dewalt drill that had a nasty wobble even a Makita I had did that
yes I did and other brands wobble as well. Hilti as the least about of wobble in the chucks
Has anyone tried the hart drill bits just wondering if they are any good
they are not good. id get the better brands on the bits
Yeah I kind of figured that was the case a 200 piece drill bit set for $35
Can someone help, my hammer drill chick jaw doesn’t come out or is stuck
you might need to use 2 hands and hold a certain part of the chuck to loosen it
People sitting around watching youtube videos and pretending that a few seconds difference drilling or driving matters. It's a bit like testing which pocket knife is better at chopping firewood because you refuse to get an axe.
to some people a few second difference matters. some people want the best of the best just so they can say they have it
@@ManCaverTools In other words, irrational and probably incompetent.
This is an older video, but I thank you for your input Dyer
Good lord, look at all that pale green.
this is an older video. things are different now
@@ManCaverTools You get a bunch of Milwaukee red?
Seems odd to me that they went with a 20v battery system when ryobi and milwaukee both have good 18v batteries.
I agree
Oh my god I have to stop reading these comments. The brain cells I have left are leaking out of my fucking ears. 20v batteries are a nominal 18v under load. 20v doesn't mean more power unless you're braindead and believe the marketing tactic of HIGHER # =MO POWA. I mean cmmon I have m12 shit that will do donuts around any of that ryobi junk.
@@Zachariahfml who said anything about MO POWA, the same company who makes these is the same company that makes ryobi and Milwaukee
It's weird that they went with 20v when their superior tools ( yes ryobi is slightly superior and Milwaukee is on another level ) have GOOD 18v
Get your head at if your ass man.
@@mattchumoore4214 18v batteries are identical to 20v batteries bro 🤣 are you dumb. If you use a multimeter on a Milwaukee m18 when its fully charged you'll read 20v Dumbass.

How do these tools feel in hand? What is their build quality like? I am new to the tool world and am in the process of upgrading my Black & Decker to Ryobi and I can feel the build quality between those two. Love the channel, BTW
They do t feel that bad in your hands. Nice grip
I've switched from Milwaukee to Hart. I love them
To be fair you didn’t use the 1” and the 1 ⅛” bits the same.
I thank you for your feedback sir
Man.....how unbiased can anyone except you to be with you might as well have a Ryobi tattoo on your forehead.
I have a lot of other brands, but thank you very much for viewing
White and blue is better than baby vomit green
So uh how uh did you uhhhhh feel about the uhhh tools
Dude, new tool, new bit. You can't use worn out bits for comparison that have already been used to test multiple tools. The bit fails before the tool will!
I can't use brand new bits for every test
You cant buy a brand new drill bit every time you need to drill a hole in real life circumstances.
Yea. You kept brining the second bit up to catch speed
