- Welcome to JasonWhiskyWise and to review #229 which will focus on the Mortlach 20 Year Old Cowie’s Blue Seal Review. To start my series into the new Mortlach Core range, I’ve decided to start with the Mortlach 12 Year Old The Wee Witchie and will work my way towards Mortlach 20 Year Old Cowie’s Blue Seal. As always if you have any whiskies you’d like to see me review and taste here on the channel be sure to let me know in the comments section.

Nice review buddy. After trying the 1987 G&M I want to try all thing Mortlach.
That 1987 is a fantastic bottling and its something G&M are doing very well as they have some exceptional casks especially Mortlach!
Still waiting for the episode where you elbow the wall of tubes and boxes and they come crashing down! Please don't edit if that happens, lol. Mortlach is a fav of mine so I hope these come to the US.
I might do that sometime soon as I'm planning on changing the background in the near future!
Damn this was thorough and informative. Excellent my friend. Congrats on 2k subs as well
Thank you very much!
Thanks for doing this Mortlach series. I have hope for them now.
Thank you for watching them and for the support. I'm also so glad they are going in a good direction with this distillery and its not driven into the ground by a silly marketing department.
JasonWhiskyWise That might be more Diageo than Mortlach 😏 Cheers
Great miniseries, 😍 info on the unusual distillation process would have been the icing on the cake.
Thanks Simon, I would have loved to explain it as its something very unique but I'm saving that for a video with the Whisky Legend Colin Dunn which I'm working on for February. Thanks for watching!
Sounds great! Looking forward to it.
Nice job. Congrats on 2K. 👍
Thank you very much Bronco Rog!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and Wish you and your family a Happy New Year!
So what is it to be? The Mortlach 20 or 100 chocolate oranges? Great review
Lol that s a good question, for now I need the Mortlach 30 but after Christmas I'd take the Chocolate Oranges lol. Thanks for watching!
Great review!
Thank you VaryingViewpoint!
Sounds like this is some great whisky, but the price tag still leaves me cold...
Its a not too bad price tag but the whisky will leave you warm, try it when your here Quig!
Nice!
Thank you Aimee!
So what is the best value for the Mortlach range, the 20?
For me its between the 20 and 16 as I feel the 20 has a lot more but the 16 is just behind it. But if money was a massive factor then 16 Year Old.
JasonWhiskyWise That’s what I thought. Not sure it’s worth it for the 20. Can find an IB 20 yo of Mortlach for much less.
You know it is funny, because actually it is not that much cheaper. The old one is a 25 year old. The general differenc on the market between a 21 (just for the sake of the observation) and a 25 is two to two and a half times in price. So the only thing that changed is 50cl to 70 cl....
And it is not that much. The 16 for 78 pounds...meh....if it is that good that the people are saying, than....maybe I can take a 18 year old price for it.... The 12 for 46 is somewhat okay...ish.... I mean ...the Bunna also claims a price like that, but that is not a good comparison because that is maybe the best 12 year old right now in the world (between official bottlings)... Anyways...after my long comment, thank you for your great job and reviews again, it is highly appreciated!! ;)
Thank you for commenting Zoltan Dani!
