I think a good way to think about Marowak's attack is to expect 80 and only bet on 160 in emergency situations. Hitting for 0 though definitely feels bad.
Agreed. In this sense it's very comparable to Kingler which is base 80 and needs 2 heads for 160. At 120 HP the breakpoints are the same as Marowak Ex (except for Zapdos only needing 2 heads vs 3) and they are both 2 stage mons the main difference is 3 vs 2 energy although Misty can help with that.
The devs need to make the coin flip RNG 50/50. Every time I flip the coin it's tails and when it flips auto most of the time it's heads. This is super frustrating for a regular player.
I mean 50/50 is the probability but that doesn't mean it's guaranteed. At the end of the day it's still just a chance. In addition that would make coin flip cards kinda mean. Since that means your taking away the capability for them to high roll when you need them to or say someone sets you up to where you need to win a coin flip to to wake up from sleep and win but they stacked your coin rng so now your certain to lose cuz you already got a heads last time you flipped
@@lordgir2517 Well the RNG of the flip should "feel" the same whether it's me flipping it or the game auto flipping it. Right now, when I flip the coin it's tails 90% of the time, but when the game flips the coin it's heads more than 50% of the time. As a player, this makes me feel like trash and it's due to a dev decision that player flips are not 50/50, where as when the game flips, it heads more than half the time. They don't have 50/50 probability set on all flips across the board. As a player I'd much rather the game flip every time as I have a stronger chance of getting heads in the current system.
@@LucasCobb i think this may be a case of confirmation bias. we tend to pay more attention to negative events than positive ones. what reason would the devs have to make the coinflips not 50/50 anyway?
@@y4nqui Because the devs more than likely do not know how to program a 50/50 probability across all actions in the game, or they do and QA is extremely lacking at this point. It's obvious that they are controlling the RNG and not leaving it up to natural probability. And nothing will make a new user uninstall the game faster than negative probability. Positive reinforcement nurtures engagement, these guys are doing it wrong at this point and the user base will shrink because of it.
Mathematically, there's only 25 percent chance of Maro doing 0 damage. You are hitting your enemy 75 percent of the time. For an ex card which you can have set up and ready to attack within 2 turns, the coin flips were necessary to balance him. This card is pretty good despite the rng.
This would be correct if the devs were actually using 50/50 probability on the coin flips which they are not. There is below 50/50 probability being used when the player has to flip the coin and more than 50/50 probability being used when the game flips the coin for you.
Sandshrew is my favorite Pokemon! Love this deck, one thing I recommend is running a single Farfetch'd. Supplements the weaker Basic Pokemon and 40 allows for some good breakpoints on key mons. For example: 40+90 KOs Pikachu 40+80+10 KOs Zapdos/Starmie 40+40+80 KOs Mewtwo/Other Basics
Thx Regis for a fun PP video. I was looking for deck ideas with Marowhak. It's an aggro card with high variance but cheap set up. It's Pikachu but with less set up and some Rng. Also, Arcanine ex hasn't seen much play by other creators. I was hoping you could cook up something good with him. Your sense of deck building is good.
So because in the games there are like 15 types or something there are some overlap in the TCG with that said in the video game it’s Electric type but in the card game it’s Lightning energy/type. And for some more context games is Steel type TCG is Metal type and some other types share an energy type like fighting and ground are both fighting energy type as well as ice and water share water energy and so on
Yeah there's Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Ground, Rock, Fighting, Dark, Ghost, Poison, Bug, Psychic, Fairy, Dragon, Flying, Steel and Ice but in the TCG they merge Normal and Flying together. Water and Ice together. Grass and Bug together. Dark, Poison and Ghost together and Ground, Rock and Fighting together.
Marowak was my starter deck sadly I've yet to pull a 2nd Marrowak Ex so my version just feels bad to play. Heck I don't even have a normal Marowak for a temp card 😅 Out of the 3 starer decks I would say it's tied with or slightly worse than the grass starter deck since Exeggutor Ex is a strong component of Venasaur decks or any grass deck for that matter.
I'll say it until the day I die: Free, game breaking mechanics like on Gardevoir are flat out too good. It doesn't matter what the cost is (and in this case - there isn't even one) if the reward is strong enough to break the core game mechanics/win outright.

Professor Regis - thank you for preparing me to be the very best like no one ever was!!!
...To collect them is my real test. To build decks is my cause! 😂
Pokemon Pocket just released in the US, and my first Wonder Pick I went bottom-left, Regis style, and got the cool card!
Not to crush your positive vibes, but the very first wonder pick is guaranteed the 1star starter XD

UA-cam really forgetting to recomend me your pokemon videos even tho I watch every single one from your other channel >:T
Marowak is one of my favorite pokemon!!
i'm playing this deck and having a great time. i find the 0 rolls funny and the 160 rolls exhilarating
This is the same deck I ended up making. It's been kicking a lot of butt
me at 18:53 yelling just fucking sandlash a Dratini at my screen literally scared pidgeons off of my balcony roflmao

There is a version with kabutops as well, which works quite well
I got like 4 of this ex marowak dude. Might as well build him a deck

In one game I managed to attack 4 times with Bonemarang...I flipped heads once...ONCE!!! >.
I've decided that the only cards i will play are cards with coin flips of some sort
Bro, i started on pocket and THE FIRST BOOSTER CAME A EX MAROWACK, and i came to a video, to how to use it, and hear that hes unreliable? 😭
So, no head ?
Bonk
I hit 0 damage especially during important moment
