just an fyi on wrong pronunciations, snivy is like ivy (name is a combo of snake and ivy) , dhelmise is like demise, beheeyem is technically pronounced like the letters B-E-M (as in Bug Eyed Monsters), but you pronounced it how most people do, elgyem is pronounced like the letters L-G-M (as in little green men, a word for aliens), and shiinotic is pronounced with a shee not a shy also the probable reason why there's so many repeats is that the first set included all of gen 1 and the pokemon company really likes gen 1

My guess is they're treating the mini packs as sort of off-shoots of the big ones which is wahy there are so many repeat pokemon. Because they definitely weren't running out of pokemon 😅

The new Magikarp and abra are essentially the same because they are both Pokémon that want a lot of energy on them but are fragile before they are evolved, so both of them you can start with when it is all you draw and then pivot out of once you draw another basic Pokémon without having to lose energy.

Magikarp is a useless Pokemon. It literally doesn't do damage. Its whole point of existence is that it evolves into Gyardos. Which is why it has an attack that retreats for the same cost as a normal retreat. Its useless

14:58 That's what magikarp is, pathetic (In the video games magikarp straight up cannot deal damage until level 15) The point of magikarp is to have to painfully evolve it and gyarados is your reward.

I like all of the new bench damage options as a pseudo way to help deal with mewtwo/pikaex/charex in a new direction. Not sure if it will shift the meta, but it will help at least

The person that said it’s pronounced “Deh-Den-Ay” was correct. Dedenne is a Pika-Clone and all Pika-Clones have Japanese words as their names. (A Pika-Clone is the term used by the Pokemon community to refer to Electric-type rodent-based Pokemon, as there has been at least one new one in every single new region since Pikachu. The other Pika-Clones are Pichu, Minun and Plusle, Pachirisu, Emolga, Togedemaru, Morpeko and Pawmi.)

Tried opening 10 packs when set came out and because of the constant errors it used up my gold but did not open any packs, that is an awful bug to have, hopefully they fix it

I had solid luck on my first 20 pulls got 2 each of Mew Ex and Pidgeot Ex, but my next 10 pull (which I grinded the solo battles for) I didn't get a single card above 3 diamonds :/ Very discouraging stuff tbh. 7:57 Lumineon is also another free retreat water mon. Fun fact about those weird pokemon Elgyem and Beheeyem, they are based on classic stereotypical Aliens. Elgyem is L.G.M for little green men and Beheeyem is B.E.M for Bug Eyed Monsters. Very convoluted naming process.

Celebi Serperior is my new favorite deck, it's so fun to play, and I can play erika which is a card i really like but so far grass type decks weren't great. Celebi hitting up to 300 on turn 3 is insane

The issue with blue I feel like is when you would need it to prevent a win, you are probably already on the back-foot and you’re just delaying the inevitable

Corona is like the atmosphere of the sun. Volcano Corona :p I had such insane luck with these openings. I did a full opening with maxgold and got almost everything save for the 2* full arts (including 2 crown Mew and 2 immersion Cerebii!) Btw, first to say Grass Cerebi, Dhelmise and Snake boi is gonna be so good (first time I played with it I rolled 7/8 tails and lost LET'S GOOOO)

Personally, at least to start with I would try doing the pve enemies, beating pvp enemies is already a 50/50 if you have proper decks, on the spirit of a nuzlocke, beating the pve enemies seems to fit right in. You have multiple enemies, challenge level is low for each individual battle, but stakes go up, and you will want to use several different pokemon against different enemies, but will have to consider whether you want to risk your best ones from early on. And if you finish the pve, another option would possibly be doing a collab, you can maybe get some pokemon tcg youtuber to face you with appropriate increasingly challenging decks to see how far you can push

Mew ex wont be able to use charizard or pokemon who discard specific energy bc thats a cost to do the ability. So if tge meta has lots of fire types mew ex will struggle otherwise it does fantastic agaisnt all other moves

Mew is a mythical pokemon thats probably why is called mythical island. Mythicals are all the pokemon who went they came out they wwre only to be able to get through events or dlc

Genome Hacking Mew was a terror in the standard TCG which has a higher power level on average so Im pretty sure its gonna be incredibly strong. It punishes opponents for not playing around Sabrina pretty brutally too.

Stoked for the new set. So many of these cards look sick and I really want to see what the three other EXs are.
