It gives me such joy to see a musician love and enjoy what they do, I love to see emotion in a musicians performance and Hugh Laurie clearly has emotion for his art. Simply beautiful
Let them talk and didnt it rain albums are part of my daily routine since 5 months, and im not tired at all. I wish my 2017 is all filled with his music
Shout out Grandma and to Skip. The only person I've ever seen play 2 trumpets at once. You were one of the most talented musicians I've known personally. Thank you for inviting me to play guitar with your band....I love you grandma. I wish you knew how influential you were to me and how greatful I am.❤
Amazing, the man makes us all look like under-achievers...thank you so much for posting this because I would have no idea of the man's (other) talents before now. love and really big smiles ;-D
@@steveknows62I have been hearing that comment since the 1950s. Decade by decade, the music condemned as “tasteless,” “that’s not music, that’s just noise,” and on and on is promoted to “classic” and “not like the junk being produced today.”
Didn't miss it. I don't like most of his other covers of New Orleans Blues. This song showed his immense talent at the piano, ability to sing and nothing distracting his performance. I have seen other videos where i thought it from a "Bit of Fry and Laurie" versus a serious piece of music of which i consider St James Infirmary to be . That is what i want to see/hear more of.
What a wonderful, well rounded artist. Acting, acting playing, and actually playing music, and good one. I'm totally sold I'M sorry for my bad english... not my natural language.
I went down to St James Infirmary Saw my baby there She was stretched out on a long white table So cold, so sweet, so sweet, so fair Let her go, let her go, God bless her Wherever she may be She can search this whole wide world over She won't ever find another man like me When I die, bury me in straight laced shoes, A box backed suit and a Stetson hat Put a 20 dollar gold piece on my watch chain; So the boys'll know I died standin' pat
OMG!!!!!!!! I heard him sing on "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" and "Jeeves and Wooster", But his voice has matured so much. Fantastic. Must see him live this summer!
WOOOOW This live version is fantastic! I heard him several performances of this wonderful piece and I think this is the best ever, perhaps even more than the album version. Especially the vocal interpretation of Hugh is pure magic! So is making love, but not with the piano, but with music! I love it ;-)))
What an extremely multi-talented man! Loved watching "House" and now here he is performing my #1 favorite song in the world. Many thaks to him for performing it, and to you for posting this.
I've never listen to blues until hugh laurie's album: this is now the main genre of music on my ipod. this album is just awesomeee ! i never thought ide become a fan of blues, so let them talk, is definately got something good going !
Consider me a new Hugh Laurie fan. I actually never watched House, but I discovered his music recently, thankfully, and I'm loving it! I do intend to watch House someday.
Wow...I actually loved that! Have listened to snippets of Hugh's albums on Amazon and just can't quite get to like his vocals, although I can appreciate his talent and passion for blues. I'm a 50 yr old English woman but I too have always loved the blues! My friends have gotten used to my "odd" tastes in music over the years! Haha. Am going to check out the full versions of Hugh's songs on UA-cam I think. If you like this, check out Louis Armstrong's version. It's amazing. 😊
:) I'm a younger fan of Mr. Laurie's, but have been since my mother introduced me to such British comedy programmes such as A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and Blackadder! Such an awesome guy. Man, I'm going to miss watching House, M.D....
I have been blessed to witness live this song performed live by Blues Legends. I feel the Jazz has been brought forward by Mr. Laurie. Blues and Jazz are different creatures; mostly because of instrumentation and application. They both are wonderful musical ways of telling a story. Louis Armstrong is credited as first recording this song and I think he would be very proud that not only is the song appreciated and remembered, but in the way the story is being told via instrument. Mr. Laurie has a voice and skill that can blend both blues and Jazz. So sad that "kids" these days look up to synthesized and vocoded music rather than the real stuff. Real talent is not in the mixing board. Mixing engineers "tweak" real talent. Don't beat up on me studio engineers!! I am on your side... less to "tweak" when real talent present. Real musicians are being thrown to the sidelines these days for synthesized simulations. I hope the current trend in music ends soon. Otherwise some very beautiful musical instrument's sounds will be lost.
Am so shocked that people didn't know Hugh Laurie could sing, dance, act, do comedy shows etc. Over in the UK, he's a national treasure :D
Nie jestem z Anglii
AKA Mr. Nippl-e
@xxxxxx-ix1sn there is this cool thing called The Internet...
You can find great stuff from all over the world on it
i’m in australia and he’s a worldwide treasure in my heart ❤
Well finally, this is good house music.
Tayvien Watts LOL!! it IS HOUSE Music!! house as in Dr Gregory House.. hahaha!
jofri016 (looks for something to throw)
And a tip of the hat to you, good sir!
You sound like a bully.
i think you missed the joke Johan was making ;) LOL
Hugh Laurie is amazingly brilliant. And the artists who back him have huge talent as well. Love then all together
This band is so soulfully put together. Such a beautiful version
It gives me such joy to see a musician love and enjoy what they do, I love to see emotion in a musicians performance and Hugh Laurie clearly has emotion for his art. Simply beautiful
One of the best blues musicians. I was surprised 😮 he is from the UK. Dr House was played with an American dialect.
Love listening to him ❤.
I'm annoyed. Why is he so talented?!
No one should be allowed to have that much talent and be handsome af.
Athena Rose Corleone Yes I agree he's very talented, I love that he plays the piano I have a thing about piano plaguing lol
And be really intelligent and athletic 😑
Funny but true.
Is he talented or does he work hard?
@@thejaballershow1036 he is talented and he works hard.
Best version ever, and I've heard so many. Soooooo good.
I'm in love - 2019 and still listening to this artsy blues.
2024 now. Still great.
The man is absolutely amazing! Ever since Jeeves - his piano playing and singing have the right feeling of someone from New Orleans - WONDERFUL!
I love watching musicians do what they do. The emotion, the feeling, it's beautiful!
anyone in 2024? this is awesome
His tender little love song “oh by gee, by gosh, by gum, by Jove” from Jeeves and Wooster is burned into my brain.
Let them talk and didnt it rain albums are part of my daily routine since 5 months, and im not tired at all. I wish my 2017 is all filled with his music

Hugh Laurie is talented. Definitely my favorite actor/comedian/musician.
He’s a actor? I didn’t know that.
Amazing, the man makes us all look like under-achievers...thank you so much for posting this because I would have no idea of the man's (other) talents before now. love and really big smiles ;-D
Hugh really brought the _House_ down
Wow! Is there nothing this man can't do? I'm a blues fan & he nails it.
The resolve from minor to major at 1:15 moves to tears every goddamn time, 10 years later
"she won't ever find another man like me" - the laugh following that kills me.
So well played by Hugh. He is a really good musician.
That was incredible! Man hast talent you knew he was.if u watched house u could tell everytimes he played!I do miss that series my fave!
I've listened to this so many times, never gets old. i
awesome.... I only knew Joe Coker version but this is so.. DIFFERENT ! well done, Hugh and all those outstaning musicians.. thanks for uploading it !
WOW! Just happened to stumble on this. A very talented man. Impressed with his voice. Oh, I liked his show too.
Hugh goes down to Nawlins and play in the dives ,never saw a white boy with so much soul
Then maybe you should listen to more music.
His two albums are extremely underrated, maybe the music tastes nowadays but, both albums are, damn.
Couldn’t agree more.
Let's go with 'the music tastelessness nowadays'

the most well rounded man ever,,,nuff said
If Hugh made a CD of this and other songs like it, I will be the first to purchase.
Hugh HAS made 2 CD's with this sort of music, and he has done lots of tour dates. You must of miss that.
Didn't miss it. I don't like most of his other covers of New Orleans Blues. This song showed his immense talent at the piano, ability to sing and nothing distracting his performance. Speaking of which, he does a great American accent!
I went down to St James Infirmary
Saw my baby there
She was stretched out on a long white table
So cold, so sweet, so sweet, so fair
Let her go, let her go, God bless her
Wherever she may be
She can search this whole wide world over
She won't ever find another man like me

A box backed suit and a Stetson hat
Put a 20 dollar gold piece on my watch chain;

St James infermery
2018 anyone else? the first time than I listened this song was 2012... It's so different to listening now... but still good, of course!
at least its not lupus
ilias 2405 hahaha wow that made my day
it's never lupus.
It's got to be autoimmune

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
is there something this man can't do?
i hope he can't die..
Find someone with lupus
Met Hugh in San Fran what a cool dude
thank you huge laurie for giving this emotion a hue to be seen by. Your accompaniment is outstanding to aid in your endeavour.
his voice is so amazing...I could hear this song all day long..
OMG!!!!!!!!
I heard him sing on "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" and "Jeeves and Wooster", But his voice has matured so much. Fantastic. Must see him live this summer!

Probably the best version to date of this song and now my favorite!
In "You Don't Want to Know" (fourth season, eighth episode), it was actually lupus :)

Loved the White Stripes playing this
Playing this for Jazz Band!!! So excited!!!

I've known that song for a great many years and that was very nicely done.
he is so much more than a doctor....
Margie Garelle better than most. this guy just knows more than one way to make ya feel good. ;)
Ohhhh man this is the most relaxing music I hear before 😌
Would love to hear Hugh and Robert Downery Jr. do something together.
Dayummm that's actually an awesome idea :D

He is just amazing...one in a million. God bless you Hugh
Consider me a new Hugh Laurie fan. I actually never watched House, but I discovered his music recently, thankfully, and I'm loving it!
I do intend to watch House someday.
And Blackadder, classic Hugh work, there!
Absolutely fantastic. Hugh Laurie takes the blues and mixes with jazz to rock your soul.
This has got to be the best. So cool. Love it.
What a *fantastic* video! Hugh Laurie owns my heart forever!!
He also speaks portuguese!!!! Hugh Laurie is a genius!!! Brazil =]
one of the sexiest voices i have heard in a while...
Que gran interpretación, geniales, me podría pasar horas escuchándola. Enhorabuena, y gracias por el regalo a los oídos.
Dr. Remy Hadley! Why would you dislike this!? I mean you and House got along so well!
Hey. These guys are pretty good for a House band.
What a bad ass
So mysterious and hauntingly talented. . . Almost like something from the twilight zone.
That was utterly brilliant!
Wow, what a surprise! Never knew Hugh Laurie was also an amazing musician.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
Smokin' hot !!! Many thanks !!!
How could he and Stephen Fry ever be in the same room together without the world exploding frm a talent overload?
