Regarding essays: they used to do the same at my Uni (English Lit, UEA). We had three courses, all of which had an essay due on the same day at 12.00 noon, the Friday before reading week, and three more at 12.00 noon the last day of the semester. The night before the deadline was usually completed chaos - but I have lots of (now happy) memories of me and my friends up all night in the computer lab sitting in a row and tapping away. In those days, we didn't all necessarily have lap tops yet (2001).

I think what I like the most about the vlogs is living vicariously through an English major. I did a science major in college so my college experience was quite different as far as the academic side of things go!

Hi Jess! I recently graduated from university in May, and oh my gosh I miss it SO much. I devoted so much time to my studies and felt so fulfilled in being a good hard working student. Now that I've graduated, and I'm working a couple of part time jobs (while i try and find something more permanent) I just find that I miss school so much. I miss cozy afternoons in the library and reading interesting books. Vlogtober is so refreshing and nice for me. Thank you for posting these videos, they bring back so many comforting memories for me

Did my dissertation last year and got a really surprising very high grade - my only pieces of advice is do not ask friends how far they are, read read read before you write anything and plan you weeks well. Do not expect yourself to do lots within the week because it will stress you out that you are behind.
As obvious as it is to clean your room before bed, and as much as I'd love to wake up every morning to a clean room, it is something I have never been able to manage so the vlogs definitely inspire me to try harder at that, haha!

I'm loving vlogtober, ahhh. I'm in my final year of uni as well in the states. We do a dissertation too, but here it's usually called a "thesis" and it varies by what you're studying and what not :) That scarf and lipstick combo was on point btw. Thank you for taking the time to vlog for us!

I did Mathematics at university and when it came to my dissertation, 10,000 words seemed like Mt Everest because I really hadn't done much written work throughout my degree, for obvious reasons! However, I really enjoyed it once I got stuck in and actually learnt how to Harvard reference! Absolutely love your vlogs, this makes me want to rewatch last year's Vlogtober! xx

I have the same issues, liquid lipsticks always turn too dark on me. The shade Stepping Out from the same range is nice, it's a brown nude.

My masters dissertation was 75 pages, so depressing. The satisfaction once completed is so worth it
when my mum and dad got their degree theirs was like 200 pages long XD

Im at Edinburgh University now so its so bizarre recognise all the places your at! (Not to sound creepy but its a smallish city- hope i bump into you)
Key to dissertation is to stay on top of it sounds easy but as someone who didn't and usually is super organised I just didn't 😂 in hind sight I would block out a few hours a week like the other modules you do so you force yourself to do it utilise Christmas and Easter 😊 it's a rewarding experience e but will feel like a never ending pit of hell 😂😂
