1:30 deliberately covers the FM antenna port, 2:15 eventually exposes open port (which was obviously kept out of frame) then magically finds a loose FM antenna cable (supposedly 'Bluetooth' antenna). A good waisted 8minutes. Houdini in the making!
Your old Radio was already Bluetooth ready, as e90s are plug and play for extra modules up to 2011 I think. That means you just needed the controller. Hence the phone button on your original radio.
Hey. I have business cd and it’s terrible I want to swap with the professional unit. Will it swap in no problems ? Like will I still keep my parking sensors etc ?
@@mraaaaaaa That's how you control the volume to the parking sensors, the radios play a huge part in the computer set up in new cars. All part of the parcel.
Hi, just spotted this vid! Handy tip on fakra connector removal, just tried and failed to fit new head unit to my e92, its an lci 2011 unit into my 2007 car. My current radio has a dodgy screen, once warm you lose all display on lcd. I couldnt get my new unit to sit fully, and thought it was cable!! I will try this mod. Question, your bluetooth, you didn't connect a microphone to it at rear?? So the other caller could not hear you yes? What was your solution to this? My car currently has mulf module in boot, with factory bluetooth, but new unit is bluetooth built in, how can i sort this to plug mic into new head unit??
Hello, Thanks for the video looks really straight forward but does that mean i can just swap out the old professional with the new radio which supports bluetooth to make telephone calls? I mean do i have to purchase a microphone to be plugged into the car? Any links for the new radio? Many thanks! Will
Взгляд Сверху so I tried removing the phone cradle. I had a hard time with one of the connectors so like a genius I cut the wire smh. Now I have lost my USB, aux, and Bluetooth functionality. Also there is an SOS error on the dash. Also I'm having a popping noise coming from back speakers. I don't really know what to do. I've checked all the fuses nothing.

I think he replaced the radio unit with a later generation one with integrated Bluetooth chip. Yours probably still relies on the Bluetooth module box under your boot floor. That module has a lot of issues. It’s usually referred to as MULF if you want to google more on it.
Complete waste of time. BMW professional radio all come with Bluetooth for calling only not music. Not sure what the point is stripping the antenna plug. Unless you already had a faulty one and need to show how to plug back in
i have a 2009 316d with BMW professional radio with no bluetooth ...just got a replacement radio with bluetooth ...hoping i can just replace an my phone will work

This is why getting rid of the dislike button sucks.

Hi, what controller would I need?
It's easier (and cheaper) to swap to used 2011 head unit with bluetooth in it than getting that module (for the trunk), harness etc....
man thank you for this video ! i was looking exactly for this
1. Do the buttons on the steering wheel work with the new radio?
2. Can you stream music via Bluetooth from your phone to the radio?
Thanks!
If you have yes. No you can't. Only with iDrive you can stream audio.
@@lukko000000 i though this version has Bluetooth inside?
What did you do for the telephone microphone?
How easy would it be to instal usb port in the armrest glovebox? my f20 only came with aux and oh, no idrive..please make a video :)

Why on earth would a radio unit affect parking sensor functionality????

Can I do same in BMW 2008 381i

It is easy replacement, but it is just for phone calls. You can get cheap 6.2 inch touchscreen Apple car play for that amount of money. Right?
