He doesnt use many vocal effects in the studio, thats apparent, but have you ever heard of Chris Cornell or Layne Stayley? Ann Wilson? These are singers far above him, who also sound just like the record. Weezer is honestly a thing all their own in my opinion. He has a Kurt Cobain thing going on, where he really isn't the best singer or guitarist, but he can write some amazing songs.
Right now this is my favorite song ever. I love Weezer and I'm waiting for them to play either in Milwaukee or somewhere close to me. Hint hint....come and play more in Wisconsin guys!!!
I don't know why people hate on the other version of the song. At the end where Brian and Scott sing "Perfect situation..." while Rivers is singing the "Oh" parts makes the song a whole lot better, in my opinion.

To be fair (and I'm a huge Weezer fan), a lot of Weezer songs are very easy to play (mainly power chords) and aren't hard to pick up. However, I think that's why he's so greatly underrated... he can really shred (as seen in concerts), but he just seems not to as much on the albums.
