Hi, I found a PCP pellet rifle in the US that I'm interested in purchasing it's over 500 FPS so it requires a p a l shooting license. The seller is concerned about having issues having it sent here and I am also concerned that I'm not informed enough. I believe there is an additional 15% tax but I have to pay once it arrives. Are there any forms I need to fill out before purchasing the gun and does the seller in the US need specific information in order to send it to Vancouver BC?
Easiest way is find a dealer who can handle all the import paperwork for you, then you just pay the balance when you get it. There are a few pellet gun dealers in Canada, just do some web searching.
As mentioned, firearms and firearm parts are covered by ITAR export restrictions on the US side. I am not sure about air rifles over 500 FPS but i suspect it is the same. I would reach out to Irunguns or Prophet River. Aztech Armory might be able to help too although they usually help with importing parts and not complete firearms.
I live on the east coast and I've never had to give any additional information when buying a firearm except for handing them my PAL. Canada has weird gun laws they're somehow both restrictive and relaxed as hell. Can't buy a little 22LR handgun but you can buy a Russian SKS with a bayonet and a crate of military surplus ammo no problem. Weird
Thank you for sharing your gun-owning journey. I am considering getting my PAL and completing both the restricted and non-restricted certifications. However, I would be more interested in getting a collector's license for military equipment and hardware. In some instances, this hardware can never be fired in Canada, but it is cool to own a Sherman or a Howitzer. I find it fascinating that you also work in Vietnam. I was just in Vietnam for six weeks in September to visit family and travel the country with my wife. I never knew about your history; meeting the people and seeing the scenery was fabulous. Do you do any work with import/export companies in Vietnam? I have read about the various restrictions that the Vietnamese government has published. When I travelled to Vietnam, I, like many, brought two 23kg boxes with gifts for family, and I brought a lot of beef from Canada. The beef in Vietnam is poor because the family needed more Canadian beef.

unfortunately you will have to wait till the Conservatives get in and repeal C21 as you cannot currently buy a handgun. Current owners are allowed to keep/shoot their but there is no buying/selling/transferring right now. You can still get a shotgun or hunting rifle though (with a licence of course)
If you’re in Canada, there’s no way you’ll obtain a handgun unless you have a RPAL (Restricted Possession and Acquisition License) meaning you have to be in the Military or Law enforcement. Not under the current Government as it is.
@@vinokai you dont need to be in the military or law enforcement to get an RPAL. in fact, police dont even need to get an RPAL unless they want firearms for personal use. that said, as i mentioned, there is currently a "freeze" on buying/selling/transferring handguns so you would have had to be an RPAL holder with legally acquired handguns in your possession before C21 took effect.

To bring up America's gun problem you have to reside in the states we have racial issues, gang issues, open border policies with the mexican border where people are pouring in, and when somebody wasnt raised right and commits a mass shooting they make them a victim not the people massacred, in America the most restrictive states on firearms have the most lawlessness and gang populations, our problem isn't the gun laws its the people at the end of the day a gun is only as dangerous as the person using it
Yet, half of us Americans are pushing and fighting back against our tyrannical government that is infringing on our rights and freedoms because us American gun owners forever stand on the slogan “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people”. Also, don’t think that just because half of us Americans own guns for days, that means we’re always ready to kill, we’re about war, this, that and the other. Absolutely not! Just because half of us Americans own guns, that doesn’t mean we’re not sensitive about people passing away from mass shooters. We hate the violence that is happening here, but we don’t blame our guns as the root of the problem, unlike the other half of us Americans who hates guns and thinks the total opposite of what half of us American gun owners think. Our tyrannical government wants us just as weak as everyone else around the world, and we won’t let them get their way. I am African American and I can’t stand racism, I can’t stand gang activities, I can’t stand the border issues between the U.S. and Mexico, and having the highest crime rate in the big cities makes me sick. It is lovely isn't it... I unfortunately cannot oun one due to past history of severe depression and anxiety- i know I'd treat this extraordinary privilege of which a PAL is and to another point, if indeed I had one. i'd treat it with the utmost respect.... unfortunately others in similar situations wouldn't going as far as can't and never should...there are many f=d up people out there.
Excellent video! Very educational. You don’t need a firearm license to shoot at the shooting range, k? But to hunt with a gun you need a firearm licence is what I heard.
To each their own but that thing is too plasticy & gimmicky for me. I prefer a good old wood furniture, blued steel rifle, bolt, lever or semi auto. The only semis I own are shotguns though, not rifles. 9mm is considered a pistol round (also popular in sub-machine guns) so the recoil is going to be relatively mild vs a high-power rifle round in 30 calibre. But hey, you're happy with the purchase & that's what counts at the end of the day. Just one more thing, stating that you feel badass owning a gun on a public platform like this may solicit additional scrutiny from the authorities when your PAL comes up for renewal.
Actually the USA isn’t even in the top 10 countries for gun homicides. Also USA is 20 times the population and size of Canada. In the USA it depends on the state on how you can get a firearm at all are the same process. So in a lot of states, you cannot just go out and buy a firearm in certain states you do need a license.
Nope. You're 11th.. The other 10 are ALL crazy backwater countries... If putting your own country in that league SATISFIES your common sense, you need to see someone to get your head on straight... The USA, statistically, has 20X the rate of Canada as far as gun violence goes... Basically, Americans have a 20x greater chance of getting killed by an armed brain fart than we do... If you had ANY idea of how risk management works, you'd understand that this represents a 2000% increase in a quick death... it is NOT a good outcome for ANY modern, wealthy country... My guess is that you are all so suicidal, because of the cost of a long sickness, or ANY hospital stay for that matter (another thing we do better than you)... I mean THINK about this. IF you NEED a firearm to feel safe in your country, you live in a DUMP!!!
Yeah that license doesnt mean anything to someone who is going to commit crimes. just sayin. you cant deter a criminal that intends to be a criminal with a piece of plastic.

fun fact: the rifle shown in the thumbnail and bought is most likely prohibited now and cannot be bought, as of December 5, 2024. This video is already outdated, although relatively accurate in context. The thumbnail IS now clickbait, but only retroactively. RIP, DIP, potato chip, Canadian gun laws.
As an American, I have to disagree with you on your stance/argument that America has a lot of gun violence due to the ease of obtaining firearms. The process you just went through is easier than the process of obtaining a firearm in Democrat controlled states like the one I grew up in. There are background checks, just like Canada, and then on top of that, even if you cleared the background check, there are waiting periods similar to your restricted firearm purchases, but for ALL firearms, where people have to wait 3-10 days depending on the state laws. Criminals do not care how long they have to wait to commit criminal acts. If they wanted to plan a bank heist and the plan took 1 year of preparation to obtain restricted firearms in Canada, they'd still commit the crime just 1 year later instead of instantly. Some mass shooters in America had their firearms legally for multiple years before they suddenly had the urge or plan to go on a shooting rampage. Suicide, which accounts for over 56% of gun violence in America, is also not due to lack of restrictions in America. People who are seriously depressed are suicidal without firearms. I had a sibling who was suicidal and wanted to lay down in front of traffic and use a kitchen knife. I had another sibling want to commit suicide by starvation. Both of those siblings were suicidal for years before they found meaning and happiness in life that made their suffering tolerable. So, a 3-day or even a 6-month (not that a restricted firearm is necessary for suicide, a simple non-restricted one would do just fine) waiting period would do nothing in terms of stopping them and their suicide attempts. In regard to training and tests requirements to get a license in Canada, training and tests, as well as a plastic card, do not make people who are criminals moral and not want to do crimes anymore, nor do they make depressed people who want to commit suicide happy and mentally healthy. The only kind of crimes test requirements stop or lessen are crimes like negligent discharges and accidental deaths, which are already very VERY low in America, all things considered.
Loved this! I agree with you that I think Canada has the right balance in place for gun ownership. It shouldn’t be easy to own a gun. But if you’re willing to put in some work and show responsibility, then it’s possible.
my question to u would be why not? im sure you own things in your life that are not practical. the way i look at it is if u have the money and it makes youhappy then buy whatever the hell you want to buy, no matter if its practical or not
yes 9mm and the Kriss Vector has a crazy recoil management system anyway. I have shot the semi-auto Kriss here in Canada as well as full auto with suppressor in Vegas and it has no recoil. The rimfire version doesnt have the same recoil management system but it doesnt need it
Where in Ohio can I get that gun license? Here in the US it's guns for cops and their good friends only. It don't matter if or not your fit mentally to have one, to own and carry as long as you are friends with the county sheriffs your good. When one buys a gun it goes to the ATF first, if they approve than it goes to local county sheriffs for the final approval. Cops take issue with me so I want to apply for that license just to prove how rigged gun ownership and carry is here. What do I mean by cops and their good friends, look at Kyle Rittenhouse, George Zimmerman, they are good friends with the cops, look at Amber Guyger, they are a cop. They all murdered people, they get to have guns, I never killed anyone in 55 years, I'm not allowed because your loving cops take issue with me. If I took all the required tests and passed, it would prove that it's not about gun safety, about who should own and carry, it's all about cops and their good friends.
based on your incoherent reply I imagine that the police officers in your area view you as mentally unwell. Also stating that Rittenhouse murdered someone, after he was found innocent, means you are excusing rioting and looting in the name of your wrongful perception that police are the bad guys. No wonder why they don't like you.

A kriss vector is not a very good beginner gun lol
Successful.guy playing video games? I'm subbing
I go to that same store
Here in Oklahoma
A clean background check and a drivers license is all you need
@@jaybutton3004 . it sounds like easy. cool. canada is too tight.
Around ten times, not twenty, in terms of population. In physical size, Canada is bigger.
Great video!
Loosen gun laws in Canada! Legalize open and concealed carry!
we wish
here here. self-defense is a human right.
Not a fan of open carry lol makes you look like an idiot that watches too much action movies
I wish. I drive to the Grocery Store with two German Boxers for the "Just in case" moment in time.
No Ty.
We don't need that.
Let's not become America.
Show how to buy a desert eagle. This strikes in Canada makes me nervous. I have no license. Make a video how to make one at home.
Cool video, just got my pal looking forward to the new hobby
White gat fit for stormtrooper....think I’ll stick with scary looking basic black AR.
even stormtroopers (star wars) had black guns.
Looks like a star wars gun!
Wow fantastic broo. I really like it. I want to buy kriss vector 9mm gun with all accessories. Please bro.. How much price is it ?
Price tag said $2299
Yeah that license doesnt mean anything to someone who is going to commit crimes. just sayin. you cant deter a criminal that intends to be a criminal with a piece of plastic.
Correct, but at least you can ensure you're not adding to the problem
That’s crazy 2200$
How much you bought it for and what about resale?
Price tag is next to the gun, did you even watch the video?
2229 cad Bro expensive
i walked in and walked out of our gun store. 5 minutes ready to go.
Wow beautiful rifle !! Perfect for Canadian winter hunts coyotes and deer
Canada used to be a country of wilderness comfortable hearty souls. They still exist but they are not represented in Government anymore.
Find your local gun Instructor take the course once you pass send papers to the government pass back ground check get a gun license not hard lol
I got the chance to shoot an all white Kriss vector like 4 -5 years ago i love the kriss vector the one I shot was 45 acp forgot to add not that great in the cold but still an amazing gun
Noice

@@aquaticaquariums6979 yeah your good , my buddy just picked one up a couple weeks ago
@@aquaticaquariums6979 yup legal and non-restricted
So did i
fun fact: the rifle shown in the thumbnail and bought is most likely prohibited now and cannot be bought, as of December 5, 2024.
It SHOULD be easy, simply take time... but it should also have rigorous checks and verifications
The kodiak defence K9 is a wonderful gun, but the AR platform is faulty as crap and absolute garbage
Kodiak firearms are trashpiles. They will never hold a candle to an AR15.
Everything is well in this video until the F word, what an insult to a lot of licensed gun owners.
Sad both are these are on new banned list.
Kris vector now band
is the kodiak defence still legal?
Vortex is American not chineese
Yeah I nearly shit myself when I heard the guy say that. Instantly a durable offence. Lol 😂
Here's a good answer to this: Don't, Because they will ban that firearm you got in a week after you get It.
No you won’t my dad has this same gun for years now
The chick at the counter just looked at him like he got some bad take out egg rolls and chick fry rice and is off to take action
What would be the use of a Kriss Vector or an AR15 type rifle? Hunting? No. Otherwise why own one? Genuinely curious.
my question to u would be why not? im sure you own things in your life that are not practical. the way i look at it is if u have the money and it makes youhappy then buy whatever the hell you want to buy, no matter if its practical or not
FALSE. AR-15’s make great hunting rifles.
At the range and hunting would be awesome , let alone the cool factor
Because it’s cewl
Range use cool
Merica! Hell yea.
I think it's better not to buy a gun in Canada. Get yourselves a crossbow before they also get banned. At least, you don't have to register it.
Great video but PLEASE back off on the background music volume...5 minutes in and I was done.
2024 try it now.
All that crazy .45 ACP recoil in a rifle 🙄
…oh shit!! It’s only a 9!!
yes 9mm and the Kriss Vector has a crazy recoil management system anyway. I have shot the semi-auto Kriss here in Canada as well as full auto with suppressor in Vegas and it has no recoil. The rimfire version doesnt have the same recoil management system but it doesnt need it
[laughs in 45-70 govt.]
A lot of firearms in Canada are misshapened! Specially for this kriss, it loses all the awesome functions from this gun
It doesn't shoot auto. he shouldda bought SIG MCX.
?
@TOKYOSG300 does full auto. Is not allowed in Canada?
@OTAKUJHE lol no way
Justin is taking it from you buddy. Time to move
1: "Dont vote Liberal"
2: "For the next 99999 steps, continue to follow the first step"
build it
I don't think I'd buy from this guy
Yeah this guy thinks Vortex is a Chinese company 😂
@cam7724 yeah nothing worse than going to a gun store and the worker doesn't seem confident of what they selling
wow
Canada should adopt Czech gun laws. Good balance of keeping them away from certified loons and carry rights.
Nice gun but terrible sales rep!
White color will get dirty very quick. You can get the optics online cheaper.
A right isnt granted with a license.
2nd amendment doesnt exist here. What point are you trying to make?
Overpriced .22 and function over form.
I can tell 4 mins into this video the guy at the gun store pure hozed you
WTF is all this noise !!! UNWATCHABLE !?
nice gun, nice video, i recomend not saying the f word in the first min of the video it will get a lot less views
Will you hand over your gun to the government of Canada?
Not true. Who lied to you?
Lol you probably need a small arm living in Vancouver these days.
