It's freaking hysterical that not only did that idiot think he had a "lawsuit" LP but also that having Gibson parts on it made it more valuable.
Fluff - "Someone spent some time on it"...
Me - "People spend a lot of time on the toilet too"... :)
The octopus bass is pretty dope lol
"Will not accept $15,000." That just means he was the original sucker that paid 23 grand for it from someone else.
“Lawsuit era” guitars were typically early 70 and had the same headstock and body shape as real gibsons, which is what started the lawsuits.
That Washburn Les Paul. There was a lawsuit it's little known but a guy from the custom shop at Gibson went to work for Washburn and they made those for like 1 year. They go for maximum $1,000! 23,000 the guy is high as a kite! I saw one listed on reverb for 700 they're supposed to be pretty good guitars like I said worth about 1000😂
My Les Paul copy was quite likely made in the same factory as that Washburn (most production for Japanese brands are farmed out to a handful of factories). Cost me £175 a couple of years ago.
That bass looks like it belongs in a band that does hard rock covers of sea shanties and is called Davie Jone’s locker.
The Washburn was a prototype made for Ace Frehley. I have no idea where he got that story, though.
Happy Monday mornings
Who knew this would become one of the things I look forward to before work regularly when it became a series? haha
Usually I’m with you but ngl that octopus bass was super sick
The Call Of Ktulu
I would like to find a BC Rich dagger, but it's proving difficult to find. BC Rich must have made a lot of one off guitars that are somewhat valuable. but the dude that listed that BC Rich in this video must living in an alternate reality.
The washburn LP is most definitely NOT a lawsuit Era guitar!
the sea food restaurant Octo puss bass was the most original looking art out of the bunch... at least the guy put some time in it as some sort of art... and didn't ask 25k for it
... lol
Lol love these episodes! On the subject of listing, I wonder how long until Reverb has an auto pay for the offer system. Ebay is implementing this function where, if you make an offer and the seller accepts, the money immediately transfers from PayPal to sell the listing.
That Kraken guitar is 🔥
Was kind of curious if the offers don't work because you put a comma in there. Maybe they think you're just offering 20 bucks
I suspect this too
Not in America.
It is the comma, I just tested it. Granted there is an auto decline for someone giving an offer like less than 60% of the price.
That freakin comma. 😢
You notice whennhe put 22k he didn't put a comma and it accelted it so yeah it was the comma
Yay! New RRL!
That B C Rich is a Nashville tuning wet dream😂
😂 "What do you do, hang it on a Seafood Restaurant wall?" Listing #2
Reminds me of my old A&W restaurant that had an old Danelectro knock-off hanging on the wall. Whenever I went in there, I would always stare at it and be like, "That thing looks like crap, but i still wanna play it"
Woo!!! Fluff Mondays! 1st listing!
That Bich is one of the few guitars that's shown up on here that I won't debate the price of. It's rare enough to see Neal build anything anymore as far as I know, plus it's a NAMM build.
1:23 3 Piece Crapwood Body! Wow! 😂
WTF? I can sell my old vintage Gibson parts for thousands of dollars?
My step dad has one of the Ibanez lawsuit-era Les Paul's. It was one of many legit lawsuits filed against many makers in the 70s and 80s.
If you have doubts.... ask Trogly
Id pay $500 for the Kraken bass just for the wall art. That thing looks dope.
Well at least they aren’t asking thousands for it.
From 10 ft away it looks like a crime scene.
The Krapen! 😂👌
I kinda like it too, just not for $500
But if you do, you have to play some Dethklok on it
Can we start using the term modified for anything that is done by the user? Customized implies the manufacturer did the work at the factory
You’re so right; if you are selling your guitar and not willing to budge on price, Reverb should give you the option to remove the make offer (btw - ever tried OVER bidding? Just curious) OR in the description the seller should say NOT NEGOTIABLE! Am I right?
if that Washburn was actually the lawsuit guitar, Washburn woulda won because that is a significantly different design to a LP.
i have Hondo Les Paul copies that are closer than that Washboard😅😂
Hey Fluf; your channel is called” riffs, beards and gear”. I’ve never heard you talk about beards. Why is that?
I need recommendations on wax, and some grooming tips.
No guitar would ever get that worn, unless you played in a sand storm. Geez.
Anyone else notice that 1st strat was a hardtail but the neck has a synchronized tremolo decal
The listings that always get me are the ones that say _Heavy Relic / Mint_ in the same sentence. If your Telecaster looks like it was used by a great white shark as a toothpick, does that still qualify as mint? I just can't afford to buy damaged guitars anymore....
71 neck guy be like " I kNoW WhAT i Got!"
"No low ball, I know what I've got"
Lol
#3 must be high on his own supply! LMFAO! I guess you really can put almost anything you want to on the internet! Wait, does he have anything else listed?
well guess i should ask a million dollars for my 1972 Strat seeing that its a real one lol
Thajt Jack plate looks like someone put a cigarette out on it
I'm not giving 23 cents for that Washburn crap 😂
5:22 Idk, Gidson just got through with sueing, Dean. They'd already sued, Ibanez. It's not a stretch they would sue, Washburn. It's the idea that it would increase anywhere near that much. It *is* ridiculous.
Ten bucks, final offer for that knock-off LP. I have some vintage Tortoise shell picks my dad gave me when I was 11, $400,000,000.00 Each
that first one is a monstrosity :|
I have to post some of my gear on Reverb to get some Fluffertisement.
They probably used a Glarry body on the first guitar
Neil Moser owned the body shape for the Bich, so he kept making them after the brand was sold off, IIRC. So it's probably as close to authentic as one could get, but that price tag is freaking stupid. And it was a ten string, not a full twelve since they didn't dupe the E and A. Strange design, and a swimming pool route on the thing for the control cavity, probably has balance issues. And I have one of the 6 string NJ Bich's, love it.
I like the giant squid bass
Moser is a fuckin legend.
7:30 - why do I think that the guy's wife has told him to get rid of the guitar and he's set the price that high so he can say "Well I'm trying to sell it honey but nobody wants to buy it!". It's either that or he's smoking crack!
That body on that first strat with the 71 neck looks like the ltd george lynch relic strat.
Ebay made in China relic body on that '71 strat- usually $ 120-190. So bogus.
Yep just like you said they were told unless they stop production a lawsuit would then be filled.
Ok i kinda want that octopus bass though. Its pretty badass. If it was like 350 or 400 it would be shipping already 😂 i just cant spend 500 on a bass that will be played less than my cheap basses
500 for a carved piece of art is a good price.
Fun
Is that a Gwar bass?
Hey Fluff!
early guy right here
But saying “cease and desist” era guitar sounds less cool! 😂
On that 1971 Strat.. the dude knows that the body is a Chinese piece of garbage. that's why the dude put all the emphasis on the neck.
Make an offer, no more than $10 less than ask
do-do-doo...do-do do-do. do-do-doo...do-do do-do
The Ibanez bass...if he'd painted the octopus green...and labled it chuthulu...would have sold straight away. Just saying
If Bootsy Collins was rockin that bass you would think it's coolest bass ever
But Bootsy Collins is too cool to rock that bass, just sayin
71 Fender neck is 50 years old already, might be a good investment regardless of the body
Tecumseh..... the fact that you don't recognize that name at all is kinda dissapointing... your history teachers failed you.
Everyone you do one of those vintage jack plate or anything similar my mind always goes I wonder what troglys guitar show would pay
it was taken off Gladys for a reason.
Tokia were lawsuit era
There are a lot of listings that are super overpriced on Etsy consisting of mystery body with vintage neck on it.
Just saw someone get into it over ID'ing a guitar because curtains didn't match the drapes to anyone with functioning eyeholes.
Turns out was off off off brand MIJ vintage body with a vintage Fender Japan neck on it...they were asking full price for the full Fender Japan but thought ppl wouldn't notice the ENTIRE BODY SWITCHED.
Lovecraftian carved bass? This is a person that drinks cheap ass wine from ornamented goblets and wears Kerry King gauntlets to their job.
I have several Samick basses and guitars (they made the Washburn) and while they are are all awesome they're not worth this much.
You can get a real Bernie Rico still. You can also get Bernie Rico Jr (no comment about the person but the guitars are sick af). You can get legit BC Rich all day long for way too much but this is way way too much.
That first guitar is a Allen Eden Relic Series Alder S-Style Body in a Nitro 3-Tone Sunburst. They make them in hardtail and trem route. Heavy relic or no relic. I have one of the two tone sunburst hardtail bodies from them - NON relic version. Good bodies for the money. Seller should definitely disclose that. AND get off whatever he's on thinking just a neck and neckplate from 1971 is worth that much money!!
Correction : it *had* a nitro finish before it's date with the sander.
@@topfloorstudio2684 They aren't sanded. A vinyl stencil is placed over them and then they are sprayed with nitro. Once its all done, the stencil is peeled off revealing bare wood. That's why every single light relic and heavy relic you buy new from them all look identical.
4 to 10 thousand for the bc rich... It might still work 11,500 cash is king
Everyone has the right to ask what they want for their property. I just wonder how many people fall for stuff like this. I was buying Stratocasters in 1971 new in a hardshell case for 400.00 back then and Les Paul Custom for 1,000.00- My idea today, if I want a new axe, I have Kiesel make them for me and I get exactly what I want, great wood and eletronic. I do not think I have paid over 2, 500 for what I want (Holding nothing back) with a case worth 300.00, No tax and 35.00 shipping. This is what keeps me happy. Best of luck to all-God bless.
That strat has a body made by Solo guitars that go for around 200$. Sounds like a rip off to me. Probably they had a 70's neck lying around or found one for cheap and decided to build a partscaster out of it and try to sell it as a genuine 70's Fender with shady and misleading listing. Kinda weird tho that they went for a hardtail build, because even the neck states "With synchronized tremolo". It should have a 3 bolt neck too, but lets be fair, that 4 bolt is an upgrade. Maby they think all 70's strats are hardtails because they are notoriously famous for that. Even genuine hardtails wont go near that price, maby around 1500 would be a fair price for one.
Dude there is no way that 71 strat neck is legit. Pretty certain 1971 strats had bullet truss rods…and that lacquer looks way too new
The Early 71's still were 4 bolt, later in 71 they switched to 3 bolts and bullet truss rod.
@@jamesmayfield6683 ah good to know. Maple caps carry over into 71 too?
So do you think he paid $20k + for the Washburn and is trying to get it back?
It’s pronounced tea-come-see. Coming from a Michigander the greatest offensive in this video was that pronunciation
Guitar 1 is a Chinese fake body SRV.
Of course the only decent guitar on here, the last listing; BC Rich Bich Neil Moeser build is way over priced. It's just a new BC Rich(a dying company? CS so 18-20k is more than fair. 😂 he's not budging from 26k!😂
That strat is not worth it bro, and the is from a Fender man.
😂😂😂
theres no standards of price set to used market, i wouldnt buy washburn with that amount of price, exactly same i do my diy song i composed free to listen in youtube on band camp 999 british pound. highest price i can punch in of.
It’s pronounced tuck um see
