Press F to pay respects to the 2.0T.
You will be missed 😞
F
2.0T and 10 automatic transmission. I HAAAATE CVT
Not even to just the powertrain, but to the whole damn Accord name. Everything about these, even the new Touring, is a downgrade from the last two generations, with the exception of having the nicer infotainment screen, gauge cluster, and newer HondaSensing. They cheapened literally everything else about it.
@@kingofspades531 They are missing the Sport touring model, in my perspective, there is still hope for 2.0T to return by using this name.
F
Camry and Accord switched roles. This is the new appliance on wheels.
All depends on what the new 2024 Camry will look like and what powertrain options it will have.
@@TimLSimis gonna b better Toyota had way better engines for years now
It wasn't long ago that the "EX" trim was top trim, now it is one rung up from the bottom or base "LX". Remember "DX" trim? That back seat definitely looks "DX" level to me!
Correct me if I’m wrong but rear seat vents are only on the touring trim!
@@ryanpatel6588 Who's talking about vents?
I think the EX-L is the top reasonable trim, but there is now a lot more than just leather seats between the EX and EX-L
@@davidlake611 Yes, the Sport Hybrid is between the EX and the EX-L, the EX-L comes as a hybrid only.
DX had non painted Bumpers and Mirror caps.
They had to make the Accord as generic as possible to make the TLX seem more upscale..I'd say they succeeded 😔
If you ask me they did the same with the CRV no panoramic sunroof no ventilation on the front seats , no rear seat heaters even USB chargers in the rear are an option on most trims!
The only thing I don’t like about that is how rear seat legroom isn’t up to par in the TLX.
Sad!
I had the 2019 accord brand new I kept it three years that car even with the base model was way more luxurious then this one. The chrome grill gave it a luxury look when I first seen it in 2017 I said that looks like an Acura. Now this one looks simple but I still like the new body a new car is a new car
“AI generated” as savage geese put it. Very accurate
If Walmart branded sugar free vanilla ice cream was a car.
This looks like it will be a really good rental. Glad I got my 2.0T Accord before they discontinued them!
1.5T is bullcrap! Wtf are they doing?
Congratulations! Rip Honda Accord smh 😩😭😭😭😭
Honda doesn’t do fleet sales
Honda does not do rental cars🤣😭 they’re not ghetto like Toyota and other car brands.
Rly rly wish they didn’t get rid of 2.0t
Chris, Michigan is looking good today!
I can think they got rid of the 2.0T for two reasons in the Accord. Firstly, to reduce their overall emissions as a brand. The second reason (probably more likely) is that they wanted to separate this more from the TLX. I was impressed with the 1.5T in the Accord, but the 2.0T is incredible, so it’s sad that it’s gone in the Accord. It’s probably the best 2.0T on the market.
Edit: Even the 1.5T is a very good engine in the Accord. Great fuel economy, and very reasonable power. Pulls hard in the upper RPMS, which you can’t say about competing brands’ turbo 4 cylinders. Also makes the front end feel incredibly easy to place. I had a very basic 2019 Accord with the 1.5T as a loaner and I was shocked how good the ride/handling balance was.
The main reason was that it just didn't sell very well, something like less than 20% of Accord sold were the 2.0T
@@sunnyyang3259and many didn’t even know what that 2.0T could do, they just bought the nicest accord they could for the other features lmao
It’s just a Honda marketing strategy. No more. Those who want a reliable family car with good fuel efficiency will go for the Accord; those who want power and excitement will go for the TLX. Those who want both…get both.
Those that want to pay $10,000 more for the TLX will go for the TLX.
@@kathyprager4976 That's exactly what I meant. If Accord is equally powerful as TLX then no one will pay that extra $10,000. It's all marketing and business.
3:43 I can't believe the shoulder just disappears without signage. Is that a compliant design? Not unreasonable to imagine a new emergency vehicle driver getting launched in the air!
what does that mean? "the shoulder disappears without signage" ?
@@Araviiiiiind the left shoulder dissapears without an R4-7 (or whatever would be required in California, I'm neither an engineer nor in California)
I see that very commonly on NJ and some PA roads. Maybe there was no signage since there was still a curb with some grass on the other side, rather than just a solid wall. Though I've seen shoulders turn into walls without warning either.
It’s called a median.
@@tpolerex7282 Wow! Thanks for the insight. Signage is required. Feel free to refer to the MUTCD.
This car looks like it belongs to the old guy from the movie Up
I have a strange feeling Honda will bring the 2.0T back next year for this generation but under a new trim above Touring. "Sport 2.0T" or "Accord Type R". Or maybe not. Acura needs sales.
They should have made the 2.0t the base engine and done the hybrid as the option.
For the same price my old 2015 v6 accord was you get cloth seats, a plastic steering wheel, and a tiny 1.5t engine. The way it rides and interior design are way better though.
Interesting... The EX doesn't get rear seat air vents? Touring does though. I guess it's a base model after all?
A car that expensive should not have a 7 inch display. My first car a 2014 Corolla had a 6.1 inch display. My second car a 2016 Accord EX had two 8 inch displays.
Screw the tech .. drive the car lol worried about the amount u pay for a car and a screen is supposed to reflect that cmon
Ha ha, I vote for NO displays that look like you plugged in you laptop and set it on the dashboard!
I don't mind cloth seats, but they raised prices on every model and don't offer a leather steering wheel until you get into the more expensive models. That used to come standard on every model but the base lx.
It's a real turn off. It's literally the one part of the car the driver touches the most and making the steering wheel plastic makes the whole experience feel cheap, despite the fact that the ex is not cheap at all.
I agree I couldn’t believe how cheap the steering wheel felt. Even the base Camry steering wheel feels better than this. They couldn’t made the steering wheel a bit more quality.
@@rinamarie75 exactly. A leather wrapped wheel used to be standard on every accord other than the LX...
Weird place to cut costs: the one part of the car owners touch most of all.
Haven't seen plastic steering wheel in passenger cars in long time. Even Ford transits have leather wheels
Last gen was so much better 😂
One day in the future people will be talking about how crazy it was that back in the day there was an Accord that had a Type R engine in it and many people will have modified them to be fun street cars. Electric cars seem to be the future but I think it's a mistake to not take advantage of owning the last and greatest internal combustion engines we will ever make. People of the future will be in awe of the fact that cars used to make wonderful noises and that we used to be allowed to actually drive the car ourselves, I think self driving might become enforced by law one day "for our safety".
I just want to stick the new infotainment system on a 2.0T sport, that’s all I’d want from a newer gen
I was waiting for this car to pop up in yo channel 💯 keep doing these videos cuzzz😮💨
THE NOISE!!!!
The road/engine/wind noise is a show stopper for me.
Yeah and sounds like a Civic.
That’s one of the reasons I didn’t buy a 10th gen accord too. Noticably more road noise than competitors unless you get the touring model
I just drove a 2023 EX. The road noise compaired to my 2015 EX is MUCH better. However, have not driven other 2023 models yet so jury still out!
This wouldn't bother me, coming from older Honda's/Acura's personally. I'd still take this vs Hybrid powertrain. Nothing against hybrids but prefer an engine only type car.
@@Jumperman12mac That's cool, because it's a great car regardless---just personal preference. I'd go for the touring, and I've heard that some of the newer examples of various models are surprisingly quieter--maybe a production tweak?
Looks like the baby of a Mazda3 and Taurus.
Glad im not the only one that thought this looked like a mazda copycat 😂
2023 Honda Accord EX 1.5T FWD Sedan!
No 1.5 for me in an Accord. Go for the hybrid. A serious contender to take up the Camry and Sonata.
Did Honda scale back the interior on this generation vs last? I always said the new Honda interiors on both the Civic and Accord were a crazy uplift and weren’t even far off to what Acura was producing. This, though, seems like a bit more generic unless I am wrong.
Finally I've been wanting to see the the EX. Love the vids bro keep up the good work!
The ex is not a base model. The LX is a base model. Just want to clarify that
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS ❤
FR
Honda really be playing it safe with these new generation vehicles. But I guess they make great commuter cars, no need to be anything special.
savagegeese nailed the review on these, AI generated car.
Oh yes, I remember one quote: It feels like driving a Bosch dishwasher. Although he was referring to the hybrid engine.
first here feels nice great videos always topher
The Accord never gave me rental car vibes until now. Not a bad thing, just not something you’re going to brag to your grandkids about having.
Glad I stuck with a 17V6
Would a car enthusiast buy this for any reason other than reliable point A to B travel?
Plastic steering wheel on an EX offends me.
Where is this place? looks amazing
Love the new Accord but I would just get the new lowest class TLX which looks and feels so much better imo.
Wish the TLX offered a solid hybrid option
@@ddogg14 what’s the point then lol
I hope so! The MSRP on the TLX is almost $10,000 more!
short and sweet video, very nice.
Honda should have kept the 2.4 NA engine that Acura used in the old TLX and discontinued ILX. Also, use the 9-speed transmission from those cars.
How about the reliability? Can it last 25 years of moderate operation?
That's always hard to tell for a new car. I do tend to believe that modern cars are not up to the same building philosophy as the ones 2 decades ago. Same I feel with Toyota, which I own. It's quite fast, very frugal on petrol (hybrid), fun to drive BUT build quality just not the same...Next car is a Lexus for me
@@mathisnotforthefaintofheart My 2105 Honda EX has 239,000 miles. Repairs? $600 for a starter. That's it! I've also owned a SC300 and a ES350 Lexus. The SC300 was used (certified) and the ES300 was new. The SC300 was a money pit (looks and drive were great) and the SC300 was expensive to repair. I know comparing a Honda to a Lexus is silly, but I'm a Honda girl for now.
@@kathyprager4976 If you are good with Honda, that's great
Informative video! Thank you)
Are there any new hybrids, that have cornering lights? That is lights that turn at night with the steering wheel or your signal to illuminate left and right as you make a directional change
I don't think so 🤔.
The Accord is just missing AWD
It looks cheap to me 🥴 never thought I’d say this but the civic looks better
My lease on my 2021 Accord Sport was coming up and I was considering a new Accord. Took a drive and I was pretty shocked at the amount of cost-cutting. On this EX trim, the door panel materials were quite hard (hard plastics on the door panel and soft touch on the elbow). The hybrids were better with leatherette covering but the rear doors were the same story as the EX until you get to the Touring. Quite disappointed compared to my car and even my mom's 2017 Accord Sport SE. Ended up buying out my lease.
Did you leave your Dasani bottle in the door pocket? :)
So there is an NVH difference between the different trim levels just like on the civic
Yes, mostly between the touring and everything else
@@TheTopher Did you get to drive the Sport trim yet, not the sport L?
If so how does the road noise compare to the the touring?
Where was this recorded??Beautiful location! 🏝️
So glad I got my 2020 accord. I’m not a fan of these new ones.
Seeing this right next to the previous gen Touring really makes it obvious how much a disgrace this redesign is to the Accord nameplate.
Curious as to why you say this Accord has more road noise compared to the Touring when this has 17" wheels compared to the 19" on the Touring? Is there more sound deafening in the Touring?
My neighbor has the new accord and I have to say, it looks atrocious in person and the car already looks old
They need to bring back the manual transmission
Why am I seeing comments complaining about the power on the accord ??? You guys were buying an accord for the power ?????
Yes, that’s why hybrid power train exists .. should be much better to bass model
Affordability, simplicity, practicality and reliability : what do you want more?
As Jeremy Clarkson puts it: POWEEEEER!!! Currently have a 2.0T and I can’t go back to a 1.5T and the new Hybrid is actually slower than the old one.
Those with a V6 or 2.0T just lost their upgrade path unless they go for another brand.
Leather seats
Accord is looking smooth AF...
That’s crazy on the wind noise. That’s too much. We rented a 2020 Corolla and it was quieter on the highway doing 88.
Hey bro do you still have the 1996 850 ? Either the automatic or stick, I would interested in buying one
exterior has no personality whatsoever. Once again, road noise is high.
Saludos 🖖🏻
I like it, wish I could afford it
Hopefully they fixed the head gasket issues with the 1.5T
And the fuel injection issue
Hopefully 🙏
@Jonathan A that's what leads to the head gasket issue. The 1.5 oil should be changed every 5000 with synthetic oil. The 1.5 head gasket been blowing after 100k. Its plenty of videos on here showing it. Also major fuel injector issues.
@Jonathan A Watch some of the hondamobilemechanic UA-cam videos on blown head gaskets.
Yes that is a problem for a particular 1.5 series when it was introduced. Honda has acknowledged the issue. I doubt it will still be a problem
I have a white 2023 ex and my honda logo in the back is black instead of chrome what style do I have
I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla and I’m not sure which one to get a Camry or accord for my next car
Never owned a Toyota, but have owned 3 Honda's. My 2105 has 239,000 miles and only replaced a starter for $600! They just don't break! A Honda sales rep once told me the only thing he didn't like about working for Honda is that he'll probably never see me again, LOL!
1.5T makes me say eeeew WTF!? MUCH rather have a 2.4 I4 naturally aspirated.
so sad they dropped the manual option
Can you drive the Model S Plaid?
whats the 0-60 timing on this?
0- Just emough
@@HOTPLATEGAMING yeah youre right. I think we think too much about numbers. Just enough is good enough!
The new McAccord. By McHonda.
So weird that it looks like a mustang from the front.
No engine cover?
Honda A7
This or the K5 I’m not sure which one to get. I like the K5 styling, but this car has a lot more safety options.
are you serious?? kia makes good cars but never pick a Korean car over a honda unless it's a luxury model like the genesis.
Its night and day difference in driving. Accord is almost at german level of driving feel and comfort.
U should get accord or mazda 6 both are great cars. But mazda lacks space and extra comfort that the accord provides.
You seem really nice. Could we see you instead of just your hands?
Just picked up the 23 Accord EX. Anyone else notice it seems to have a slow start from a stop? I'm not pressing the pedal down all the way but only seems to stay 1000-1500 RPMs and takes a bit to "kick-in". Not in Sport or ECO mode, just Drive.
Yeah that’s how these small displacement turbo 4 cylinders work. They have no low end power until boost kicks in. VWs 1.5T is the same way
I noticed this too on my test drive.
@@rinamarie75 any car even if its 8v will not be fast if your rpm is 1000-1500
you should atleast be 1700-2000 rpm and your accord will be the fastest
The new Ford Taurus… err… Honda Accord is a dud.
An EX is 1 trim above the base model which would be the LX. One thing i hate is that for the lower trims, EX and LX they just put the tiny screen from the base civic into the accord which looks awful. Way to small.
The fact that EX is now the base model is weird.
LX is base
The front end looks like a Mazda.
Looks like those old ford SUVs.
Rip last gen accord
Looks pretty cool. This looks more like the sedan version of the Mazda3 Hatchback than Mazda's Sedan version lol. Don't really understand when people say this has appliance vibes. Looks interesting with the rounded rectangular look, especially the back. Super sleek looking. Wish I could say the same about the front grill. The flatness makes it look too plain.
Never buy the first year of a new generation vehicle, right?
Is that a plastic steering wheel? Yuck.
Looks like something from a mitsubishi mirage, wow.
Nice, clean design. I like it better than the last generation, but with that small trunk opening, it should be a 5-door/hatchback. I'd also like more interior color choices instead of black.
Several exterior colors (Red, Gray, White) are available with a light colored interior
this has got to be one of the worst downgrades i’ve seen in years from a looks standpoint
Just remember, all the current Honda line up was inspired by the 10th Gen Accord. 🙂
I really do like these new Accords I have a 2016 model with 200,000+ miles on it, I may look into one of these newer models in a couple years.
boooooo. great review my brother but I'm still in love with my 2018 accord with the 2.0 turbo 6 SPEED MANUAL. if i could have one thing from the 2023 version into my 2018 will be the full screen cluster display, other than that there’s nothing else i would change about my car
Honda engines sounds like sewing machines
Altima 2023 next please!
Imo, once you come from a car with leather-wrapped steering wheel its hard to come back to a plastic one.
2:35 Unlike Nissan 🙄
The EX is the sweet spot in the trim lineup in my opinion. You actually get a spare tire and it comes with decent Michelin tires.
Auto Start Stop is annoying af
There is a button on the center console to turn it off.
@@kathyprager4976 still have to turn it off every drive you start the car again.
Dang it's a slow Ford Taurus wannabe
What
The Ford Taurus is slow too
Drove a sport hybrid. Loved the power train. Plenty of power for me while getting great mpg. 2 issues-low seating position especially for the passenger. 5.3 inches of ground clearance vs 5.9 in the Subaru legacy . No AWD option and build quality seemed not as good compared to the CR-V equivalent
