Just got the T45 yesterday because it is close to flying a T2 as there still isnt one in the sim, really impressed for an old model! Encase for anyone still using the T45 with the CRS and HDG heading tap button which takes too long, you can actually use the UFCP and type in your heading which saves so much time especially when trying to tune into an ILS approach.
You are absolutely welcome, I'm just glad it has helped somebody, like I say in the video it's not at all too in depth but it's enough to get you going. Enjoy the Goshawk it is by far the best fast jet on MSFS so far.
Yes you are meant to and on any other plane I would have but you have to press the MFD buttons for every single degree you want moved. Not only is this tedious but also time consuming, If it could be done a Course and Heading Bug nob instead of individual taps of the button it would be a lot easier but it doesn't have that function. Sorry if I didn't point that out in the video, thanks for bringing it up.
VNAO have done a fantastic job bringing the T-45C to DCS and it is a great flight model, it flies really well and doing carrier circuits with a decent catapult and arrestor gear system on the carriers I would say VNAO have it in the bag, best part of it all is that it costs nothing. Saying that IFT have done a brilliant job in their version for MSFS but in all honesty I would say the DCS version, simply because there is more to the sim side of things, does it for me. Being able to catch a wire and get appraised on it, having the whole set up on the super carrier so you are immersed in a simulated flight deck...... it's the little things. The only con I can think of for both versions is the fact it doesn't carry munitions. Then again it's made for deck qualifications and nothing else. Sorry for the long winded reply but hope that helps. Thank you for watching.
I'd also like to add my thanks for this video... it was a godsend in figuring out the navigation technique. I'm enjoying this plane very much but had struggled with the manual, and just now did a complete flight using GPS waypoints as well as an ILS approach, it was great. I don't see reference to any autopilot capability in the manual so I'm not expecting to be able to find it, and am also assuming that RNAV approaches aren't something the nav system can accommodate but that's OK. I really appreciate the time and effort you spent on putting this together!
The aircraft IRL does not have autopilot. However you can use the MSFS hotkeys for Autopilot master, HDG, and ALT hold to hold your heading and altitude. I tend to use it on long IFR flights because this module isn't great at trimming at holding an altitude. The T45 cannot shoot RNAV approaches either, and technically cannot do long flights using GPS waypoints only, they are just for situational awareness. They use victor airways and VORTAC to VORTAC for high IFR flights.
@@theloopholeisntaahol I just wanted to thank you for your comment and the info you supplied, I knew about the Goshawk not having autopilot as is the same with RAF Hawks but the rest was very insightful and something I did not know. Thanks again and take care!
Individually tapping on the heading bug is ridiculous! Especially for a pay-to-play plane! This must be fixed and a better Autopilot implemented! There are better freeware autopilots take the H135 Heli, has phenomenal features and is FREE???
Totally agree with the heading bug, as for the autopilot, I guess to try and keep it as realistic as possible no autopilot was implemented as the T-45C doesn't actually have one, so the sims own basic auto functions are useable.

Thanks for producing an excellent little tutorial that I found to be very useful having just acquired the T-45C.

Thanks. Been looking for information like this.
No worries, glad I could help
Not much use for a long trip. Does it not have an autopilot?
The T-45C doesn't have an autopilot so the only one you can use is the autopilot thats integrated in the sim itself which isn't great.
how did you make your flight plan...Simbrief?
No I just made it in the MSFS default flight planner.
Don't you have to change the course on that HSI to runway headings and bearings between waypoints?

I'm loving this bird :)
It's a solid performer and one of my favourites so far, will be hard to beat!
Agreed, slowly becoming my favourite!! So satisfying
How is the flight model compared to dcs or something of this
