Oh Christy, I don't comment often (I really should) but seeing you work on this novel has given me so much courage to start hammering on mine (working on the second draft after a disastrous first). Congratulations on a major milestone, and I hope you have a wonderful trip. I cannot wait till I can read your novel
I've never followed a novel being written before, it makes me think of the processes of everything that I read being written, 'how did the author come to this point?', 'where was he writing it?'. Loving to watch it come to life, and can't wait to read it (hopefully being in Brazil won't be impossible to find a way to read it). Xo
This is so crazy, I'm about to finish Draft 3 of MY fantasy novel too!! I only have a few chapters left to rewrite and I'm so excited! Then I'm going to start working on a new project while i let that one sit for a while! Also, you are an amazing writer and you inspire me to keep writing even though I know my beginning words are always quite bad lolll
Christy, have found these Project Teacup videos really really interesting to watch, and loved seeing your writing process. In a future Q&A, would really love if you could talk to how you knew to plan our out your writing project into different drafts, and some of the supporting documentation you use to map the story. I'd love to have a go at my own novel but have never studied Lit or Creative Writing so I have legit no idea where to start re a project plan, so any resources you used and can point to would be fab! Cheers.
as a fellow writer about to take on her own novel, watching you go through the process of writing yours has been more inspiring than i can say. i feel like i have gone on this journey with you pls, it sounds weird when we don't know each other -- im literally just subscribed to your youtube channel and yet ??? i'm so proud of you christy, catch me being at the front of the line when your book comes out (because it will ik you will get published
I've always been an artist but during college it's so hard to find the time to do it. Towards the end of my break I've been trying to make art and I just have your videos playing in the background. I've always been a fan of Studio Ghibli (watching movies and listening to the music) and I think your videos have a very similar vibe to SG. Thanks for helping all of us creatives keep goin:)
Hey Christy ☺️ I’ve really been enjoying your writing vlogs. I love how honest you were. I totally relate to the highs and lows of working on a personal project, the excitement and the self doubt. Thank you for sharing. Really looking forward to reading Project Teacup in the future ☕️
Oh how exciting! I am SO keen to keep watching to see what's next for Project Teacup, thank you so much for being so open and vulnerable throughout this process - while doing it in a unique way of trying out author routines. So excited for you!! :D
Watching your writing vlogs have been so helpful and motivating for me to keep writing. Unfortunately, for the last couple of months I’ve been dealing with tendinitis in both my wrists/thumbs, as well as some carpal tunnel pain and therefore cannot write or type (using voice to text this comment) and it’s been frustrating and depressing not being able to write. But for now I’m just living vicariously through you! 😂 So glad to see that you’re making huge progress on this project. I hope you’ve been able to catch up on rest since finishing this draft! Thanks for taking us on this journey ❤
Christy you're such a sweetheart. Everyone I watch your videos I get indulged in them. I love how hardworking you are. I can totally relate to the struggles of writing a novel as I too am a teen author. Stay bright 🌞 Always!
i just had to take a second to comment how awe inspiring this vlog was and how weirdly proud i felt as i watched you work so hard and give it your **all** to this project :') i can't wait to hold the final product in my hands!! 💗
Congrats on finishing your third draft! Thank your for sharing your feelings about the whole process, especially having someone read it! lol I felt those same feelings when I shared my first draft with my hubby. It's nice to know I'm not alone. 🤗
I'm so happy for you Christy!! It's really wonderful to see you so passionate about this story, from the very first writing vlog. It makes me wish I could read the book immediately. Also can I just say that your relationship with Tyler is so very sweet, I'm glad you have a person close to you that can give you feedback of this kind. I really enjoyed the video, as always - keep up the amazing work! Take care!! 🧡🌱
thank you so much for making this video!!!!! it always feels so overwhelming to think of writing a book, while it's mostly just really practical as well, to put in the hours to write and write and write. I wanna take it a bit more seriously instead of just writing sporadically, so it's really great inspiration (or just to see you actually doing it, and that it's ok to take it seriously
Congrats, Christy! I’m so happy for you. You’ve been working so hard and for so long on this book. Looking forward to getting a copy when it gets published. I don’t think it will be available in my country, but I’m definitely going to order it somehow. Keep up! It’s almost done. You are so close!
i just discovered your channel and honestly, i'm so excited to read your book. You sound so passionate about this project of yours! Wishing you the best of luck ❤
I love your videos so much, thanks for making them! I’m starting my first fantasy novel right now and it feels like I’m trying to move a mountain or fight an army of dragons or so. But then I watch your vlog and see that I’m not alone with this challenge. Thanks for this support!🙏 I’m sure your book will be wonderful, I will be waiting for it. Wish you good luck and lots of inspiration!🧡
Congratulations on finishing the draft 3! If you feel emotional and you're crying over your story - you know you're making good stuff. Recently I've finished draft 3 of most important story I've ever written. I love this world, I love the characters and feelings that are coming to you while reading that. Now I feel so empty, just like you, so flat because it's actually over. I'm taking a small break because I can't focus on any other story. Thank you for this series of vlogs. I love them so much. Take care and have a nice day!
I know how it is finishing up writing the final chapter of a book which I finished like last week on my notebook, just need to type it up! but it was one of the hardest things I've ever have to do. But thank you for your videos, they have really helped me in the past few months. I've started the second book in one of my other notebooks, which I called, Fallen Wings. It's about Sophia's daughter, Arya Fallon, rather than about Sophia (her story was told in the first book) but hopefully it won't be as hard as the first book was! Also happy to hear more about project Teacup and I hope you'll publish it at some point!
Thanks Christy! I’m currently trying to retrain as a writer and artist and these vlogs help me feel less like an imposter in my late 20’s trying to remake myself 😂 Thank you very much and I’m glad Project Teacup is going so well!
Am writing a book right now and am almost finished the first draft of think might be done by end of may but can’t wait till it’s done. This story two part first one is a romance and the second part is inspired by the Assassin Butterfly.
I’m having so much fun watching your writing vlogs!! I love the atmosphere of calmness and at the same time dedication to your work ❤ And also I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO READING YOUR BOOK!
I am an author like you but unfortunately I could not write anything since two years because I am facing a lot of problems in my life and that is frustrating me a lot first because I am an employee outside my sector of writing and I work 45 hours a week and when it comes to the weekend I only want to relax and finishing the house chores and i have a teen ager daughter she needs a lot of attention, I am also a mom dog with a little furry friend who makes my life so funny. I wrote in my early writing eight children story and one young novel then my problems comes out one by one including the most one which is financially. I hope I could return soon to my writing and concentrate on this talent because I really miss it. Good luck hope to see your book published soon. ❤ hugs from a Lebanese author
I know nothing about this story and I’m hoping so hard that you can get it published (or if you can’t that you self publish or something) cuz I wanna read it sooo baaad!! I’m loving watching you write 😊 I hope you’re enjoying writing it and good luck with publishing when the time comes!
I have been following the process of project teacup for months now and I can’t wait to read it, should it ever get published 😊. Good luck to you and enjoy the process as much as you can❤ -Lilith
@@christy-anne-jones Yes, your videos are so nice to keep up with while writing the PhD dissertation. I'm in the humanities so I just try to trick my brain into thinking I'm a professional author. Which I am, right? haha. Thanks for giving me content to commiserate with!
I’m sooo excited to read Project Teacup. I’ve never followed an author through their whole writing process before (other than myself, which can be a nightmare) so I’m really really looking forward to reading this
oh my god i am so close to starting my second draft (which i've decided will be final) but i'm stuck on revisions. these videos are so motivating to get to that next step :))
That's so cool that your partner is your first reader. My partner and I are opposites usually when it comes to our skillsets, with him being much more quantitative while I am qualitative, so he would not be my first reader! Well, he would be to support me, but not to red-line it with a critical eye. Haha. He's great for a plethora of other reasons though :)
Christy, you've been my biggest writing inspo since I found your channel sometime last year. I'm about 70k words into my first draft (which I've rewritten twice now, so is it really a first draft?! LOL) -- I actually got pregnant during a lot of the early stages where I had BIG, FIRM deadlines for myself, so I've had to adjust my timeline a lot and be patient with it. But I'm so excited to finish this. Every time you vlog your writing, it's another message to my brain that we're doing good, and we're doing what we love. Thank you
Hey Christy, this was a brilliant vlog! I’ve been looking forward to see the end of draft 3 coming along ❤ I’m also writing and know the joys and pains you just talked about. Funny enough, I’ve also just started draft 4 of a novel I wrote in 2021. It’s a long long work, but would it be so great if it was easy?! Enjoy Japan!

Hey Christie! I really love your videos. I recently found your website and it's incredibly beautiful! Can you make a video on tips to build a writer website? Thanks!❤
