Ive always wanted a pit barrel but ended up getting everything but... i heard they cook really well. Thanks for checking me out though! Any pro-tips for sustained cook times are welcome 😁

Hey man great video. I have both the 18 and the 22 and your advice is right on. Once these are dialed in they stay nailed! I usually use a number 2 pencil to set the bottom vent opening and same on top. Seems to run dead on at 250. Good luck and Go Buckeyes!

That is an awesome guide. I'll have to try the number 2 pencil and see if it works for me as well. Thanks for that suggestion and of course for watching.
Go Bucks! This will be an interesting year for college football. If the conferences decide to all just play each other it may force ND to join somewhere.

Hey Jim E Merry Christmas to you as well! May this new year bring in tons of great que for you! This was my 1st attempt with this fuel management system and I am happy so far. It sure beats getting up every 45 mins to load up a new stick in the winter. It almost feels as good as this upcoming W over clemson.
      Go Bucks!

Hey D! Wow....this is your first charcoal pit?!?! I wouldn't have guessed that.
They are nice when you want to get some sleep! There are also sooo many mods and upgrades you can do to them......but
like you have it straight out the box works fine. The 18.5 is nice.....but for whole brisket and slabs of spares you may be wishing you
had gotten the 22.5. I won't give any other thoughts or suggestions about this pit.........You do your research and have your fun with it. 😁
    Smoke On My Friend! 👍

Hey Ken happy almost new year to you! Ive had a couple of the square ones that you can get at family dollar or kroger, one of those char-griller legacys from Lowes and a weber kettle but I never used them for smoking or long cooks. I went from those straight to the stick burners. I heard they (stick burners) would be a challenge but produced great meat so I stayed on that for a long time. You are absolutely right about the size though I would def prefer the 22" now. The one true mod would be gaining more space lol
Oh and dont be afraid to share your area of expertise over here I know how you get doen with the mods! I have to get over there andplay catch up to see what you and others have been doing. I havent been on YT for almost a month now. I feel out of the loop!

Yeah there is nothing like getting some sleep. I still have a couple stick burners, the Longhorn and my trailer. But I am like you, I value that time away from feeding fires now. I paid my dues with the all nighters 😆
