I've had both knees replaced (2013) and have been doing these exercises for a few years. They have been presented well in the video and I would recommend anyone with issues to give them a try. Start slow and give yourself a chance to strengthen all those muscles around your joints.

Great leg exercise workout. I’m 57 and had arthroscopic surgery on my knee for small meniscus tear 7 weeks ago- looking forward to getting back to running soon. This set will help me achieve that goal. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this video. I have been using your “weight training for women over 50” for months now and love it. Your demos and explanations are wonderful. I have been looking for exercises that I can do on my off days while i am resting from my “knees over toes” workouts Love the idea of targeting my glutes and hamstrings!

So true. Dr. A makes videos for everyone and explains the reason for the exercises and nutrition better than anyone on UA-cam. His knowledge likely took years to gain by studying and learning what works. Too many other UA-camrs are just Googling information.

TY. I lift weights with my upper body. I had double knee replacements in 2012. And my knees still aren't 💯. Arthritis visits often. I work 40 hrs also. So. I couldn't do much work with my lower body. This routine works wonders. I mean it. I wont get bigger legs. But im getting stronger. TY.

I have Osteoarthritis of the knee and i happen to be a gym rat. so these are great workout but having osteoarthritis means; do i have to give up doing leg extensions, hack squats, leg press, walking lunges, lunges, reverse lunges, hip thrust and all forms of squat variations? please help me on this as i can't find any professional around me to confirm this. You are saving a life with this help Sir.

Thanks for writing in! You don't necessarily have to give all of them up as it's still possible to lift with arthritis. However, it's all about giving your muscles/joints a proper warm-up to get them ready to handle the load. Check out this warm-up playlist for some ideas: ua-cam.com/play/PLbG8O6B6Zl8n3n2CL5Vted_MkuCkENkYJ.html

Hey thanks for writing in! We normally recommend taking a day in between resistance-training exercises so it really depends how heavy you're lifting and what your intensity is like. If keeping it light, it can be performed more often but if pushing yourself, taking a day is recommended. Best of luck!

Hi! I have definitely got osteoarthritis in my left knee. There is no pain thankfully but I can hear it crunching no doubt due to the bone sliding over bone! I believe it is best to keep exercising? These exercises will be good. When I do the sumo squat I can hear the crunching. No pain. Should I do this exercise or leave it out?

Hi Deborah, thanks for writing in and great question! If you are 100% certain it's bone-on-bone, then we would suggest refraining from doing any movement that provides this sound. However, if it's more just "clicking" and doesn't cause any pain, then it is OK to continue doing them. Either way, verifying with your doctor what the root cause of the sound is makes the most sense moving forward.
