It’s been said a thousand times but I love that they gave the prince a personality. Instead of being this untouchable, straw man with little to no character, we bond with him and truly see a new side of him the original didn’t get into.

I love the "My Kit" line. It really shows Cinderella's judgment on people. To look past the status and power and to always look who the person really is. She's so majestic.
I like this film. Simply beautiful, good environment. Good director Kenneth Branahn, good actors/ actresses and over all the music by Patrick Doyle. Thanks you, Maestro. You gives more sensitive emotions to the film to goes at the hearts of the people. ❤️👍🏻🌹

I actually like this movie since being not so significant, they made us see that the step mother has her reasons to why she was mean, not because she is evil and just like to cause trouble to Ella like in Disney animation, but because she has been hurting, and that’s consumed her and gave her the reason to act this way to Ella.

They gave her some depth but she still shouldn't have treated Cinderella the way she did.
Forgiving the unforgivable is perhaps the greatest courage of them all.
I’m really surprised that the movie didn’t feature that wedding dress longer. It is ABSOLUTELY stunning!!!! One of the BEST wedding dresses out there!!!! I do believe that is my dream dress!!!!

I went and saw this back in 2015 and it hit me really hard. The innocence, wonder, and optimism of this movie is powerful and it doesn’t punch down at any point. I cried through the whole movie, tears of happiness. A grown, 32 year old man seeing it with a bunch of moms and their daughters, and I cried way more than they did.
Let me just say that wedding dress was GORGEOUS OMG I WANT IT

i love this adaption. they didnt have to make the others ugly just to show cinderellas beauty and the prince didnt fall for her because she is beautiful but for her kind heart. also they met before the ball thats why he went to her and recognized her.
If Lady Tremaine had just treated Ella with kindness and decency things could have played out so much better for her and her daughters.
Well, the thing is, had she been treated better, she would have gone to the ball with them and would have not received that beautiful magic dress and the prince would have not noticed her and would have married a real princess and Lady Tremaine and her daughters would all carry on living a boring life of an average family and this fairy tale would have never been written because nobody's interested in stories of everyday lives.

Say what you want about this movie and disney live action remakes but the costuming and sets of this movie are on point and absolutely fabulous.
Watching this as an adult I can appreciate even the writing of the proclamation "if she be willing" such a gentleman. A beautiful tale told with a modern twist.

I wish I had the chance to watch this movie on the big screen when it first came out. Watching the clip of how this movie was made inspired me to seek it out to watch it at home. If you must make another version of a classic, it better be good. This didn’t disappoint me one bit. It’s better than good. The characters had more depths, directing was excellent, costumes and the work that put into ballroom scene especially were magnificent. I much appreciate the fact that this modern version of Ella presented someone who is more well rounded - loves to read and can speak different languages, is talented and intelligent, can sing and dance well, as well as works hard, can cook and keep house. She’s kind and empathetic. She’s brave and speaks her mind. And she’s beautiful. I wish young ladies/girls these days are inspired to be someone like this. A wonderful production!
People now call revenge is strong and " feminism" that we don't need men to be happy :), but Cinderella tells us the truth that we are only strong when we have the courage to forgive and to love without holding the grudge, not many people are brave enough to forgive and actually being independent doesn't mean you will not get married to "prove" you are strong, like how Cinderella values herself so she found a man know her worth :) . Of course, there was luck that the prince found her but still this remake is my fav of Disney, definitely show this to my children someday.

I would say that it's in spite of Disney that the film is so good. It's the largely British talent that makes it so special, particularly the two leads, the director, musical director, costume designer... and of course the Aussie lead and Italian production designer.... refreshingly free of American schmaltz and poor taste generally.

I will always adore Cinderella. We have many forms of bravery, strength and sacrifice. But she rejoices in the most elegant form of them all. Kindness. You may see it as submission therefore it’s weakness. And you may even have a different definition of what elegance is. But kindness is the precursor to wisdom, wit, forgiveness, hope, love and even self-love, harmony and peace. Kindness is unbeatable.

The glass shoe was made from magic and the Prince knew who she was hence the speech before trying on the shoe. I believe she tried it on because no one else knew her so if the shoe fit her everyone would know it was her idk 😂

He knew what she looked like but he never got her name and he didn't know where she lived. Also, the slipper was magic. Shoe size doesn't matter because it was made for Cinderella ONLY. So if anyone else tried to wear it, it would either make itself too small or too big for their feet.

I really liked this Cinderella - Lilly James did a great job, but the whole movie was lavish with rich details and eye candy. Most of it SFX and CGI I presume - but nonetheless - still impressive.
If you watch behind the scenes, they actually built most of the sets, even the ball room. It was so beautiful.
