Then in this episode I noticed that Krrsanton showed up while Boba was in fact asleep.

bobas building an army, at the begining of the series we see boba and fennec walking to the mayors, i bet by the end we see boba riding a rancor with the motrobike kids, black wookie, fennec + mabye bossk and more recruits

I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet but since Boba freed Black Krrsantan instead of selling him to gladiators, keeping him imprisoned, or killing him. Doesn't he owe him a Life Debt according to Wookie Lore?
I believe BK cut ties with Wookiee culture when he became a gladiator and bounty hunter.
@@lijana maybe I'm not sure I know he held the opposite of a Life Debt against the brothers who enslaved him as a gladiator in the Doctor Aphra comics hunts them down and forces them into the gladiator pit as a somewhat vengeance
The only thing that makes me think he'll give him a life debt is that his neck snapped right to boba in disbelief after he freed him.
@@zachary8249 I feel that for sure. Soon we shall see. Maybe he will do both a life debt and whatever the opposite is of that at the same time. Taking down the Hutt twins for betraying him and saving Boba from whatever 5D chess strategy they are playing at. All I know is I wanna see that team up Wookie gladiator and Mandalorian bounty hunter crime boss. It's like Han Solo n Chewbacca but way more badass.

Neat episode, But i was totally bummed that boba's adoptive Tusken tribe was annihilated so fast and easily. So much for calling up their help in the series finale

While probably not canon, during the second level of Rancor Rampage on Star Wars Kinect, there is a lovely cutscene where an alien farmer child tries to tell his pet Rancor that his dad said that he is getting too big for the barn and has to go. Another lovely example of how loving and tender Rancors are... Before they go on a rampage

The Meiloorun fruit is such a small detail, but I love it. I get the Meiloorun juice almost every time I go to Galaxy's Edge (it's ridiculously good), so to see the fruit itself in live action warms my heart.

The speeder chase scene ruined the episode for me. It felt like they were going 3mph and the speeders were just vespas without the wheels
That sequence definitely took me out too. Honestly all of BoBF and Mandalorian episodes directed by Rodriguez did not resonate with me at all. I really think his style of direction is not a good fit for Star Wars universe. The powers that be seem to love Rodriguez though.
It was so goofy looking, hopefully the budget went somewhere else

I don’t think anyone has pointed this out yet, but I noticed some blue streaks on Boba’s jetpack during the scene at the mayor’s office. This is a cool reminder that it was first Jango’s armor, and that Boba painted over the blue with his signature green.
I love how you can catch the subtlest details but simultaneously miss the blatantly obvious third pit droid lol

Not sure how familiar you are with video games, but the Witches of Dathomir play prominently in Fallen Order. Also, I will say it until it (hopefully) comes true; but, if they can bring Thrawn to life, than I'd love to see Talon Karrde hit the screen too.

The colourful bikes feel out of place
The "Back to the Future 2" gang chase killed it for me. Filler.
I feel like they underestimate the power of our nostalgia and the symbols here. Are we being asked to identify with the bullies in back to the future? Also, genuine question, are we supposed to think that they look cool?

And the kkrassantan fight was awful. Bikers shouldve been from mad max not from cyberpunk. No idea what they were thinking. Hopefully they step it up next episode.

That spider droid was stop motion animated by Tippett Studio. The rodent being used to wipe sweat is known as a Hoojib from the original Marvel Star Wars series from the 80’s.
Do the Hoojib have some sort of moisture absorbing abilities? That Hutt seemed to be using them like a gym towel

The Droid at the beginning of the speeder chase says, "Poodoo!". It's another way to say, "Bantha fodder!".

Vespa Gang looks so out of place. Their clothes and shiney out of place speeders do not belong on Tatooine. The actors are fine, but they need grittier clothing, dusty/sandy speeders in less saturated colors.

Not just the look. The mopeds didn't lean through corners and came down from jumps like anvils. They might as well have been riding Sewing Machines.
The look like they should be in Currasant not Tatooine.
I don't think the protocol droid screamed "curse you" when they sped past him. Rather I think it yelled in Huttese "poodoo"

Those colourful bikes really killed the mood of the episode I won't lie, just didn't seem right
It really took me out of it while they were on screen
It's a direct reference to how the Mod movement in the 60s had the dark leather outfits but rode on colourful scooters. I personally loved that but I didn't love the low speed car chase.

you're not supposed to think about it too hard. they wanted an action scene so he was just there.
The palace of a crime lord should have secret entrances that only jabba knew or only other hutts knew about it.
Why didn´t he kill Boba instantly and just throw him around? About 4 times...

The rancor scene in Return of the Jedi was not stop motion. It was a puppet that was filmed at a higher speed, so when played back at normal speed it's movements seemed slower, large and lumbering.
Michael is correct! I have an old "making of the Star Wars trilogy" video that shows the puppet in action!
Same goes for the wort he later says was stop motion. It also was a puppet.
Also, stop motion does not use its own frame rate.
I think the Protocol droid at 16:11 Actually said "Poodoo" which is of course a Huttese term for "fodder" often used as a swearword. I think it would be more likely than "curse you".

As you probably know by now, the B'omarr Monk shot was in stop motion, animated by Phil Tippett's team, and meanwhile the example you showed of stop motion, the rancor from ROTJ, was not; it was in fact a puppet with a slowed down frame rate.

@@fragwagon I don't think they do Go-Motion anymore. Motion blur can be added digitally if they want it, but it doesn't look like they have even done that for the B'omarr Monk shot.

I’m still hoping for at least a reference to Rotta at some point in this series as he has a better claim to Jabba’s empire than anyone else who is vying for it. Maybe a one off mention that he is still too young to rule the empire.

I personally would love to see a Durga the Hutt mention from the Twins. He took over the Hutt clans after the death of Jabba and would be the ruling Hutt on Nal Hutta.
The burp from the Frog Alien reminded me of the burp from the Sarlacc Pit after eating Boba at ROTJ

When burning the bodies of the Tuskens, Boba threw what appeared to be the kid's training gaffi stick onto the fire.
Also, when the water munger was talking to Boba, all I could think about was him saying ,"HEEEEEEE, THATS BANKING" from his role in The Ballad of Buster Scrubs.

When the speeder bikes nearly hit the protocol droid instead of "curse you" I thought I heard it exclame "poodoo" - a Huttese curse that translates to Bantha fodder that we've heard multiple characters use including Sebulba when he was taunting Anakin in The Phantom Menace
I also hold that it means something like "shit" in Huttese. On a planet as water-poor as Tatooine, manure would be an important source of water and nutrients. So "Bantha poodoo" would mean both "bantha food" and "bantha crap."
The starliner at the end is clearly Corellian built. Notice the circular ports on the side of the ship and the ramps look just like the one for the Millennium Falcon, only larger and there are more of them
At 6:58 I think this is the same moment in the mandalorian where Mando lands on tattooine for repairs
I don't think that would work, as Boba was teased at the end of that episode, when he rescues Fennick. He wouldn't have had any time to go back to his Tuskans, and give them their funeral.

The starliners obviously came from the same Corellian shipyards that turned out the YT1300. While clearly different from a YT1300 they have a similar overall signature look.
I'm sorry, but I didn't like the bike chase. From the Looney Toones gags to the vehicles going 8 miles an hour, it just felt like a self aware joke without any self awareness
Agreed. It was very bad. Realistically that's how a low speed chase would look like in such a location but we just really did not need to see it. It really feels like a Richard Lester film in 2022, which we honestly do not need.
Just gonna say I got Alita: Battle Angel vibes from the bike chase scene and their cyborg enhancements.

First time I heard of the Niktos, it reminded me of the line "Klaatu barada nikto" which is used in the classic science-fiction film The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951). This was the source also of the Klatooinians, I'd wager. They were introduced as Jabba's henchpeople on the skiff (one named Barada, apparently) in ROTJ and now are another crime family in Mos Espa. I am sure many have noted this since 1985 but I so wanted Erik to mention it again. (Just as with Chewbacca being similar to собака/sabaka (dog), Nikto/никто in Russian means no-one, and барада/barada means beard -- and Barada the Klatooinian had a long wispy fu manchu.) I know of no word like klatu in Russian but in Jamaica it's similar to part of a vulgar phrase that came from "cloth."

2 things. 1. Dathomir is where the Zabrak Darth Maul is from - foreshadowing? 2. The witches are the night sisters in jedi fallen order. The planet is hostile and volcanic. Too bad A rancor was not in the game.

I find it funny how many people can't seem to imagine that an outer rim skughole, like Tatooine, could have a counter-culture similar to the mods.
The prodder or forked staff that you referenced is an Amban phase-pulse blaster, which was first used by Boba Fett in The Star Wars Holiday Special and also used by Din Djarin in the very first episode of the Mandalorian.
Fun fact: Danny trejo is actually Robert Rodriguez’s cousin

Fun fact the tuskin raiders rifles are called cycler rifles and is a traditional weapon of the tuskin people along with the gaffi stick

4:38 The bikes also look inspired by lowrider bike culture. It is a blend of the lowrider style of cars imprinted on to the more affordable canvas that bicycles are. It's mainly a Californian Mexican American subculture. Which makes more sense when you think of who directed this episode and his previous works, i.e. Machete.
The bikes looks ridiculous. They looked like mopeds and didn't fit in with the atmosphere of the planet, city, scene. They were awful in my opinion. Not to mention this was the slowest chase scene in history.
