Thanks for the video. By far the easiest way to do this. I’ve swapped out the f30 grill a few times now and most videos either show you by removing the bumper or starting with grill from the top. But looks like unclipping it from the side next to the lights was the way to go all along!!
Thanks for the tip...i'm about to get my M grilles in the comming days and I was thinking that there has to be an easier way to swap them than to remove the bolts that hold the bumper...will try this
Good job there, but the only thing that matters the most is to have pianist like fingers, I mean long, thin and strong, if your fingers are like this this job is super easy.
Literally the only one video on UA-cam that explains it the right way, worked fine on my F32, took 5 minutes to take both grills off. Thank you very much!
Note to other folk, if you aren’t too fussed about the old kidney grills your removing then don’t be afraid to break the clips, however if you want to keep it then don’t be too rough.
I didn't care about breaking the factory chrome grilles so I just got a good grip on the blades and yanked em out. Broke some of the clips, but who cares. Those chrome ones are ugly.
I broke the tabs on both grills..... Not going to lie, I was getting the shits and just ripped them out. Lucky i didnt damage anything. I had the silver ones and replaced with black gloss ones, looks 100000% better
I was thinking the same! I have the gloss black diamond mess grills I have just bought, along with the 2pc red grill insert. Cant wait to see how it looks!
What helped me: Have someone else apply constant outward pressure from the headlight side and start working the tabs. It only took a couple of minutes after that.

Thanks for the video, took some force to pull all the tabs out without removing the bumper. Just pull on the each tab and keep pulling on the grille, it will pop out.
You got this! The force is with you. 😂. You kinda have to finesse and be gentle but use force. Make sure you’re pulling down on two tabs on one side and wiggle and pull out at the same time to ge them free
Take a breather and come back at it. Make sure you’re pulling down on two at the same time if possible and remember they’re clips and think about how they work. You got this 🫡. It’s always harder than it looks lol
@@skrrtproductions actually getting my chrome trims wrapped today! and the grill i put in is one of those diamond ones; cant even stick one finger in, so if you want to remove that, gotta take the bumper off definitely
Hahaha poor kidney grilles.. I saved them and it came in handy since I traded my car in. I swapped them out so I’ll be putting the double slat kidneys on my new car
It can be kinda tough. Just try to pull down on as many tabs as you can with your fingers while pulling outwards at the same time. Go for the corners. Once you have one off, you can reach thru to get the other

*Before you put the 1st one on, you could have just stuck your hand thru the open hole and gotten in there to remove the second one even easier.*

30 min of working on this. Bloody knuckles and the grills aren't even close to coming off. Definitely didn't work on my F34.

Are you pulling on the full clip or the little piece that actually clips in?
Not exactly sure what you mean here but just look at the one you’re swapping in to see what the clip looks like and use feeling and force to unclip it

Yeah you have reach in and try to pull multiple tabs while pulling 1 side out. Then once you have one off you can reach in thru that hole
