I have the same caboose with the number 484 in red. It does have a red bulb in a socket, but it's missing the center rail pickup. One of these days, I would like to make the pickup to light the bulb. Also, I would like to get a prewar engine and some cars to go with it. Right now, it's just a lone orphan in the collection, but I couldn't resist buying it for its low price that I purchased it for.
MKT had green caboose's with Yellow "M K T" letters. Might look good on that green.. and the American Flyer decals would look good in white or yellow so you could see them on that dark-ish green.
The custom colors look great. The few prewar pieces I repainted, I put on a cookie sheet in the oven and baked the enamal. Made for a nice gloss prewar looking finish.
Well that would be ideal for painting in winter; I actually baked the frame for a couple minutes after removing the paint, the bare metal rusted instantly. I think I will do prewar for Christmas, and get the K5 running
The caboose turned out well. I think you should pick out the window frames with paint or model car adhesive foil "bare metal foil" it comes in several colors. Glad the tank car made it safely.
Interesting as always, really enjoy your videos 👍
Chicago & Illinois Midland had a similar paint scheme for their cabooses just with red ends and a red stripe

Also, it might be hard to find these days, but 042 radius track was made in O 27 type track.

I forgot to add - excellent idea to paint the interior a lighter shade of green
Looks very nice! How about putting custom decals on the green caboose for your layout or UA-cam channel?
I'm thinking actually of doing "Overland Flyer" as shown in that book.
