this movie is amazing!! i watched it during a NWC history class and by the end of the movie all the guys in our class were sweating tears including me and it was really weird i've bought this movie ever since and i've never regret it!
This movie is very sad, and since I can understand Korean and read Korean (I'm Korean FYI) it makes it even more touching and it pulls at the 'ol' heart strings, because out of all the war movies this movie made me cry the most, I mean, you just feel for the younger brother when he finds his older brother's remains at the end and it just tugs at you and makes you cry and feel sad, this is an amazing movie from koreans.
this film makes saving private ryan look like horse shite, honestly hands down to Korean Films they are better in every way possible than hollywood films. hollywood now completely sucks ass at making great films, with toooo much CGI over paid novice actors, Won Bin, Dong-gun Jang, and Song Kang-Ho are such under rated actors who deserve more recognition. This makes me wonder how lucky i should be to live where i live, and stop complaining. I can't imagine how it must be, the things they had to endure,i think i'm going to cry a lot. The things human kind does, makes me sick and sad,how can we treat our own specie like this? we are worst than animals.We are the owners of the earth, and yet the only thing we can think about is money and war, why can't we just live all together and happy? why,i don't even... this breaks my heart.
Not really, this film's main focus was more about two brothers who ended up in the chaos and how the war puts there relationship to the test. Plus unlike Saving Private Ryan this film also makes a point to show that in war there is no good versus evil. Saving Private Ryan failed to show the darker actions the allied forced went ahead with during the Normandy invasion. This film was right on it, in fact the director may have shown more then enough of the South's Geneva Convention violations

This movie is PHENOMENAL however I don't like to watch the first part because it's gory and some guy shot himself in the head when his chest was pried open and gushing out blood. However if you put that aside the movie itself wasn't that great, however the ending really brought it together

Well, just let you know Vietnam is much worst when they united under the Communist North. 500,000 ARVN soldiers were sent to re-education camp and thousands never made it out alive. Over one million Vietnamese dies on the sea trying to escape. At least once the fighting stop in Korea, people actually stopped dying and the soldiers were remembered. Nobody remember or respect whose who fought, sacrificed and died for the Republic of South Vietnam. Those like my grandparents, my uncles, my dad.
